@@lessainsbury8508 Yeah, that would be no good if there were cows in there! Was the farmer upset about the hay getting mowed down by the glider? I'm guessing there is some sort of insurance for gliders in case of accidents?
@@agesadventures The farmer was pretty understanding about it..The field was already half cut, so the crop damage was minimal. There is liability insurance but in the case of crop damage, you are probably better off to pay it out of your own pocket. Landing in tall grass can cause a glider to ground loop, which in this case it did. ( undamaged ) This probably saved the glider and pilot from a worse outcome.
Was that in a field of hay to be cut down?
The pilot sure was lucky!
Unbelievably lucky. The field would have been completely cut with cattle in it, a week later !
