If you start in Hell's Horses, be on the lookout for the Turhan 2 vehicle. It can carry 2 BA squads, and they can fire out of firing ports. Zoom around into the enemies' backsides and obliterate them with BA. With the BA rework in the patch, I'd love to see this be a part of your team. This has been a staple of my lances.
The BA riding within need only minimal armor, load them up entirely with weapons. The tank armor protects them, but they will take occasional through-armor damage, so 0 armor is not recommended or you'll lose weapons. Clan heavy BA rifles are nuts!
Hell's Horses are great cause you will start in the inner sphere but also with clan equipment.

Hej Bara, long time follower here.
Regardless if the incoming changes, there are really two winning styles for the game atm. The most simple and fun one is a cavalry style, where you take medium to heavy mechs, make them hyperjumpy and equip them with SRMs galore. (Plus 2 Acid back liners) By doing that, you are getting 1. Size Delta bonuses when fighting heavier units 2. They get size delta penalties 3. Higher initiative 4. Constant backstrikes, that even superheavies can't take many of 5. Faster gameplay 6. Take away the enemies opportunity to fire at you through constantly repositioning/breaking line of sight.

Seeing you play the faction attack/defense marathons would honestly be really fun. And you get more loot. And extra shops on allied planets. Go for it!

Great season as usual! Love that you ended on a brutal slugfest. Vehicle start in clan space sounds like a fun challenge!
I enjoyed this so far!
I dig the idea of going with Clan Hell Horse to get a start with some really, really decent tanks. I did it before 2 seasons ago when I first got into Roguetech and I felt that the value on the tanks really made the early game feel really smooth.
On the note about mid-game money vs loot.... Sometimes you can do both. The omnimech parts are an absolutely amazing pickup. The real wins on loot tables come when your random picks hit on anything better than ammo. I felt that sort of happened when I started fighting heavies, or getting clan gear. You kind of have to feel out when its worth NOT gambling and just take the money. For me that's usually determined by imminent financial crisis.

My suggestions:
1- The LAM start, but you can only play fliers (vehicles, BAs, Protos, and LAMs) for the duration of the campaign. you can land your LAMs when its tactically suitable to do so.
2- The primitive tech start and grind your way out
3- Start in clan space and reenact the wars of reaving as The Society
That was a very entertaining ride through the Inner Sphere. As for next season, possibly a Word of Blake start, to get access to Society gear? Starting with lances of six units would also increase the difficulty factor quite a bit. I think balanced picks are better long term, when you get to SH territory you just need insane amounts of Cbills, and storing the equipment slowly grinds at you in terms of monthly fees. Can't wait for the new season and finding out new rules, new equipment and new missions.
Start with Society, always good never bad.
A Hell's Horses start sounds cool.

Shocker of a map, i normally skip this or run flyers / mediums. No recap? No quiet words for recently deceased Popo? Combined arms is the way to go in RT. Thank you again Bara, looking forward to the next one.

In my recent playthrough I am running a dedicated AMS-Mech. It is a Summoner with 5 AMS MKII and it holds a lot of trouble away from me🙂. Surely I am lacking Firepower on the battlefield, but my other Mechs are keeping up sigificantly longer

I agree. My first SH since the last patch was a Wannu, turned it into a ELRM boat with Hiroe, still use it even now to wreck stuff. I have found that railgun type weapons don't seem to work well on anything but quad mechs in siege mode.

What i usually try and do with a multi-trac mech is squeeze a mortar in for things like smoke screen or mines, for example
To be a bit of a fitting nerd I would have put a 15+ArtIV on the right arm (it would have fit). You would have lost an evasion ignore but gotten so much more accuracy from the arm and recoil+.
With regards to playthrough, I think BTA3062 favours faction play, as it gives more concrete rewards for allying. In Roguetech, you honestly find a faction that faction is opposed to in order to farm them and maybe, big maybe, you pick up something nice from the store once in a blue moon.
Flashpoints can be very difficult.
Tank start sounds fun, just be wary of the elite pilot mod and how many support lances you have enabled.
I'd go through some builds too, rather than just slapping stuff on.
So backstabbers, spotters and the like.
picking a faction and seeing just how much of the star map you can take over with the offline map for the next play through will let you explore more of the rep missions and the conflict/flashpoint missions with the 3 day timers to control border worlds will give you a bit more pressure to play under, and some often underwhelming loot crates
Could have taken out the BC-Extreme Range to get a TON back because once again it would be interfering with the NOVA CEWS short range issue.
If you're going to do a Clan start, the society start can give you some neat things and starts you in clan space I believe

I have an idea for a new start: no flyers (they are way too OP) and no tanks with ridiculous free repairs. Challenge must be challenging!

A truly great RT run!
If you're trying to make the mech heat neutral, the emergency coolant system is a bit of a waste. Since it doesn't activate until you reach a high heat threshold, if you never usually get that high, then its kinda 4 wasted tons. Might be better to just go with a regular +4 engine heatsink.

Have you played a stock build only? I just tried, it's hard. It seems like the Royal mechs are best since they are mostly heat neutral.
Maybe this has been said before but I noticed the railgun has a (Light) tag. That means there also has to be a railgun heavy, I wonder what kind of minster that is
Hello Bara, for the new run please give yourself a little extra money, your still going to be BaraBroke (TM) just going to make more builds. i like seeing the crazy things you put in builds and run them. a little extra cash means exploring builds wont be as devastating to your meta progression. But hellhorses Sounds also fun.
However you could Apps with a faction and fight some Attack and defend Missions for more Money and loot. But If you do this you should ready into it. Because you don't have to Take Fights we're the enemy hast Triple the Points than your faction and you don't have to Take every 3 day fight.

Multi target would be great if people did not constantly over extend and try to kill too much at one time. First disturbie probably could have killed 2 for example, instead it basically did what it could without multi target. I am a prime example of over extending with multitarget. lol
I wish my upkeep was only a couple of mill lol

Horrible map and definitive loss way to go last episode of the season. Yeah Clan playthrough make it a clan pilot with implants as your main. Do not select elite pilots, select no armor repair reduce cash payouts to 50%, the game just plays so much smoother and it's not exploity at all. You are gonna play no nukes of course so lets see you on the other side, could also stream your first episode, that would be fun.
It feels like one of the only ways to actively enjoy progressing. There comes a time when fun comes before pride in games

Baradul, I think you should either stay away from purple skull rated missions or at least ones with no cover...
And you should ask the modders to find out why the a.i. is so fixated on the direwolves all the time, it's been like three playthroughs now where it does that...
can we just agree that super heavy mechs are not worth the cost?
