Born in ‘47. I couldn’t watch this all the way through. I miss those days and the family I once had, now all gone. But it is not nostalgia or sorrow that hurts. It is the realization of what we have become that is so repulsive. As children we wondered about the future. No one ever anticipated this.
They were the "greatest generation". People of that era would hang their heads in sorrow if they saw what has happened to our country. Instead of pulling together as a united Democracy, we are a nation divided by the politicians with each side having no tolerance for the other. I fear that another Civil War is simmering and smoldering. God help us and God help our country.
Did you ever think a day would come when people would be offended by wishing them a Merry Christmas or by mentioning God in a reverent manner? Merry Christmas everyone!
Our families went thru' the hellfires in WW2 & we, from the depths of our hearts pray that such nightmarish scenarios will never, ever, ever be repeated again. Not just peopled that sufferend but the animals too. Love our late President Truman's quote at the start of the video - "This is the Christmas that a war-weary world has prayed for." So many of our uncles returned from the European & Pacific war theatres & drank themselves to death. Only one survived to 89 in a nursing facility in MO. Remembering post WW2 America & to us, the greatest generation that ever lived, so fondly.
I love the video my dad was in War War 2 looking at the soldiers made me cry thinking how the soldiers only had each others no family thank you for the memories
I have to ask, this may seem silly, but, you are Randy Wright ? Anyway, very nice video, thank you for posting !! And it's not "too soon" now to watch all the Christmas videos. Yours are really nice.
Well, it will be Christmas again before we know it. I have said this before, but Walmart puts Christmas items out by Sept. 15/18th and the poor old Santa Claus and other fixtures that dance/sing/raise there arms are just (sadly) wore out by November. That's a little too early for me. Hope you (and your family) are doing well !
THOSE TIMES ARE GONE FOREVER. At least, you and I lived it in the 1940s and 1950s…it’s gone. All gone forever…brought tears to my eyes; made me breathe fast…at 5:54 i had to stop watching…too sad….
What an amazing future those returning soldiers and their girl friends/wives had in front of them, as America would soar in the 50s and life would be just grand
I miss my Mom and Dad this is the music I grew up listening too.
Me too. Merry Christmas and Happ new year 🎈
@@dotell3359 Did you listen to it in the summer time?
Moi aussi... Happy new year, from Angoulême, France
It's a shame that Christmas isn't like it used to be anymore.
