- This is a track from my Celtic/Medieval album, The Court of Leaves. I thought I would film a little video for it :)
The instruments are a vielle (medieval fiddle with gut strings), a gothic harp, and a lute.
The piece is originally for two vocalists, but works as a delicate instrumental just as well :) It was written by Guillaume de Machaut, a 14th century poet and composer. I love this melody!
We filmed the video in 30ºF weather, at a ruin about two hours from Charleston. We thought it would be nice and deserted like always, but suddenly the ruin was VERY popular, and a whole biker gang decided to visit at one point! Luckily, we had one 30 minute period where no one was walking into my shot or trying to mess with me. ^_^;
Best reason for human cloning I've ever seen.
@@terrancecollette6784 He means demihumans, BAKA
God being a Tsundere explains a lot...
I’m gonna assume that there was conversation beforehand that got deleted, but tbh this on its own is hilarious because some rando on the internet tagged someone who isn’t even in the replies and calls them an idiot in Japanese for not having the correct terminology for different types of deity.
@@edenroseart it frankly pisses me off how many of my own comments disappear especially those that are about events in my life, comments where I put a lot of work in about e.g. history...
Just stopping by in 2021 because Erutan is timeless 🥰
2024...
Medieval music is so relaxing. I don't know why, maybe because our imagination makes us thinks about "fantasized" medieval times.
Anyway, i love that song, i'm really amazed by your work.
This melody is particularly relaxing and peaceful, it makes me dreamy.
Although I only discovered your channel a few months ago, I've already become addicted to you, Erutan, ahah ! I'm in love with your whole world, it's rare, unique, beautiful and simply full of wonders. I listened to all your music, and have to say "Thank you". Only "thank you". I guess there are many people who comment sincere words and convey feelings to you about your music, and I'm one of them, but before saying that I hope you continue making music for a long time, I just want you to know that you gave and still give to everyone of us incredible things. I can't even describe it. Your present to us is a part of Life, a piece of your soul, some reality you created and that is making me breath. There is so much left to say, but almost all of it is inexpressible, because it's higher than human beings. I'm convinced true Music is a flow of Life. Music that can express so much, transcribe a world, or even show the color of your soul.
Whether they're covers or original songs, every music piece you made has something in it. Something beautiful and powerful. I thank you for being someone who shares such sincere emotion through music. Also, you have a really lovely voice, and it's always a pleasure for me to hear you sing. I can't help but mention "The Willow Maid". This song is my favourite one, it has sooo much in it !
Maybe one day you'll stop making music, regardless of the reason. If this were to happen, I would say that you left your mark on history. Personal histories of all people that happily listen to your music, which will live forever inside of their souls.
Please be well, Erutan. My soul will be listening to yours forever.
Ahhhh! thank you so much! Such a lovely thing to say ;_;
i wish i could express my feelings like this
+Keith Medler Do you read a lot?
+Keith Medler Me too I've always wanted to comment something like that but I only ended up with, "Love this music." x'D Feels pathetic.
+Manon H Lest it be forgotten, such quality of tone and emotion as can be found in Erutan's music is both willing and able to speak to hearts of every walk of life and state of mind. It is a privilege to listen to such work.
Thank you Manon for expressing so well how so many feel when gracing our ears with such art such as this.
Why in Heaven's name does this woman not have more subscribers? I am so disappointed in the world. She is a music artist.
This may be strange, but the voices in my head sing this to me sometimes
No wonder you sleep a lot. This can lull you to slumberland.
The masses do not like good things.
I believe she is definitely underrated, She has so much talent, she can play so many instruments, I could only dream to be as accomplished as Kate. I have shared her music with everyone to whom I speak with on a daily basis... , she deserves a lot Subscribes for sure, I was just very lucky that You Tube recommended her too me, The best recommendation from You Tube Ever !!!!

Hoi shigi!
I see you on the most random places on the internet!
@@SlyHikari03 ahahaha you busted her
You have reminded me exactly why I fell in love with the music of Machaut as an adolescent, more than 50 years ago. Thank you so much. A beautiful performance with each part distinct, one can really hear the structure.
"We thought it would be nice and deserted like always, but suddenly the ruin was VERY popular, and a whole biker gang decided to visit at one point!" Your music summoned them :D
I am Brazilian and I spent admiring his work when watching Itsumo Nando Demo [い つ も 何 度 で も]. Really perfect. Now I offer my congratulations for another work of art touched by you.
I want to thank you Kate for helping me overcome one of the roughest patches in life. I first listened to your cover of Silent Hill music box and a few others during my darkest hour and arguably it helped me save me from myself. You are an amazing spirit. Thank you so much.
She is saving me even now!
So, so beautiful. Wherever she may be, I wish Erutan well and hope she's found as much as happiness in life as her music has brought to so many, myself included. ♥
I feel like I've been purified listening to this. So beautiful.
Erutan, you create such a poetic and mysterious universe. So talented. Thank you

I am speechless.
A painfully beautiful song!
2021 and still listening to this masterpiece 💙
Hi there Erutan, you are very gifted with a lot if instruments which is a very rare gift and the merging of your playing 4 into one tune is beautiful , this melody is very dreamy , reminds me of something one might have heard in the 14th/15th century in a faire or kings court , fantastic I look forward to my ping notifications of your uploads
Beautiful ;w; I love listening to The Court of Leaves in Spotify while I'm playing or working on projects, it's such a relaxing album~
(Btw the video looks very classy and very well edited! 4 Erutans
This is a beautiful piece of music. You are such an accomplished instrumentalist and an outstanding composer, it's a joy to hear and see you play. I wish I had discovered you and your music earlier so I could have shown this to my dad who passed away a few weeks ago. He was a guitarist and a maker of violins and guitars, he would have really liked to be able to witness so much talent. Especially in a young lady (he was a bit old-fashioned at times)! Thank you for sharing your magic with us!!
Beautiful work! Also, am super glad to see my 2nd favorite song from the album get a video of its own. Thank you for sharing with us!
I love your music, I love your raiments and masks! Thank you for gracing our coarse world and bejeweling it with these nectars of whatever magical ether from which you come!
2020 and still one of my favorites in the life
Absolutely beautiful! ^^ I have been listening to it on Spotify for a while now but it was really nice with a video alongside the wonderful music!
Your videos are never short on the artistry. The song has a fantasy vibe to it that I'm such a sucker for. Thank you, Erutan. Perhaps you could release a vocal arrangement of it someday?

Beautiful my dear sooo soothing it's ridiculous!! It's so haunting and calming! Thank you!
I hope you didn't get sick after making this video. I love the music on your Court of Leaves album. I took a Renaissance music class in my sophomore year at university, so I was listening to a lot of instrumental music just like this for my class.
Dang tourists! Can't leave the performer alone for just 10 minutes.
thanks for playing french music ;)
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing this with us
Probably not a good idea to watch this when I'm already having a hard time getting out of bed. But I'm sorry I knew this video was gonna be amazing so I couldn't pass it up. Timing is absolutely perfect. Great job

So great to see some up-close and personal shots of lute-playing technique. ^_^ I love those quick hammer-on/pull-off series that give that characteristic "old-world" sound XD
Душа выходит куда то за пределы тела и вообще, с такой музыки.....

Once, again, magnifique!

Are you okay? You look beside yourself in this video....
Be happy, there's four of her now. The world would be a better place and we should all be so lucky to have our own Erutan. Like in "i, Robot." But, with less robots and more lutes.
Amazing like always...when i close my eyes while this song plays i feel like i am in a

such wonderful music
Beautiful, especially the harp and lute.
Ah I thought I recognized this piece! I remember it from music history class in college when we covered medieval and Burgundian chansons. This is a really nice arrangement and the instrumentation suits it very well c:
I just love the ancient feel of this song. And the fox masks remind me of the medieval music shows that one would catch in an outside market or park.
absolutely love it!!
a musical poet of the finest
I really hope you do some kind of live musical performance of some sort in South Carolina.. I live here and none of the artists I listen to live or visit here, except you!! I am also entranced by the world you create, and inwardly I call you "the Fairy Queen" :) please let me (us) know if you ever decide to do anything live here xx

The harp and the fiddle are the two prettiest to watch play
+The Slyman What's wrong with the masks? ,:-)
Sandy Karpe It's occultist!
+The Slyman I have no idea what that means. ,:-/
Wonderful :) I hope one day you'll sing "Siúil a Rúin" (although Irish gaelic might be hard with its specific pronunciations).
