Absolute banger from the mid 90s this is when jungle/d&b come into its own and was set in stone as a truly British style of music loved it all then and love it to this day big up all massive and crew
Mmm debatable. Aston gave her a big hand in the early days 92-94 with producing tracks. No doubt a few ghost producers were used after. She still has talent of course and no doubt the final say in alot of these tracks.
94-97 she was an A list DJ and, in 94, she was very, very good indeed. On her best night she was as good as anyone sans Randall, Hype and, for me, Gachet. Besides, I own almost every record that Pete Parsons ever made and none of them sound anything like the records he made with DJ Rap.
DJ Influence used to always batter this and the ravers would go nuts. Goosebumps remembering this one!! Also big up the Kool Skool ravers that used to reach The Powerhouse!
Milwaukee’s n Dreamscape was where it was at, mad, mad nights I remember everything but nothing about the 90’s it was just ‘Yo weekend tomorrow’ miss these golden days.
@dmonkey82 yeah dj rap remix but this vinyl plays identical both sides im fucked if i can tell the difference theres also a garage version and i think a well old one but i cant seem to get my grubby little paws on it ,love the vocal. this tune never got cained proper little gem!
There was a Garage version of this released in Public Demand label. I don't know which one came first but I think this was first in 1995/1996 and then the Garage version followed in late 1996. Big up!!
Does anyone know how exactly the 808's were processed for that sound? Is it really just driving 1604 hot? I tried nearly everything but I just cant get the sound of it.
Yeah try a nice 808 with a decent sub tail load into sampler find some nice notes then add some bit reduction and drive then distort ,these kinda tunes were samplers putting out 12 bit samples so finding a good bit reduction will give you the artefacts that will give you harmonics for the distortion and then you have to simulate driving hard on a mackie channel you should be able to get very close as its a simplesound maybe a cheeky pitch envelope on very subtle settings then for the bounce
@@thepandasdoitbetter I am using rx950 plugin on the channel besides others for those old da converter artefacts. Definitely will have to try the pitch eg thing. The lower notes are easy but the ones played up I wasn't able to copy. Maybe it is not a 808 going through a driven mackie but a 808 resampled after going through a driven mackie and the notes pitched up with the distortion in the sample just sound different to clean notes driving the desk. More experiments needed... Anyway - thanks a lot for helping
