I think what people don't get is that (in both instances) a streamer wouldn't filter their words as well as they do on a youtube video, because on a youtube video you'll be writing a script and overthinking every word you say but on a live stream you don't have that privilege and will not have the best wording to explain your point.

Do you think Ludwig, who donated like an insane amount without even being a political streamer, is a white moderate? That he "is more devoted to 'order' than to justice", that he prefers "a negative peace"? Wouldn't it much more preferable to him to NEVER address the palestinian cleansing ever to his audience?

Especially if you're revenue is involved, by trying to thread waters in a genocide he made himself out to be a white moderate, he's not a white moderate, but that stance was, and that was because he chose to prioritize his optics, which impacts his revenue, then a good cause.

Ludwig not wanting to get involved with the whole Creators for Palestine thing because of optics and adding that statement after talking about donating is definitely a choice that he made for explainable reasons (he owns a company where every employee's livelihood depends on his online presence), however it's absolutely not undeserving of criticism and Frogan deserves to voice that criticism however she likes, whether you like it or not
Ludwig and Hasan's reactions to all of this are genuine examples of great allyship since their support isn't good because they always have the best takes, but because they always try to improve no matter how much their allyship is questioned (especially with Ludwig reading up on the student protests and coming to the right conclusions, honestly good job to him for that) and I didn't expect the rest of the streaming community to react any better, what I'm disappointed (but not surprised) by is Hasan's chat's reaction
If you were part of the chat (or have the same take) that was insisting that Frogan fucked up during all of this while Hasan was explaining that true allyship isn't supposed to be revoked whenever it's questioned, take a moment to realize how even one word was enough for you to do it for a muslim woman and realize what part your whiteness/internalized white supremacist thinking plays in this. This drama is all about determining whether Ludwig is a good or a bad guy, but it's a false dichotomy. It really sucks that he's not part of the good guys in this case, but I don't think that automatically makes him bad. He's simply being selfish.
frogan has good reason to be frustrated with her friends and peers not saying that much about israel/palestine when her own family is imperiled by it.

Unless your brain is actually fully rotten you should be able to realise that's a very charitable action. Not wanting to wade into an incredibly nuanced discussion that is likely to split your audience down the middle is also perfectly reasonable.
@@Ookalaable Bruh you just explained the issue, it's not a virtue to do a good deed when he's not impacted by it. You should already be doing good deeds. His good deed only goes up to the point it impacts him that's how his second half statement came across as, when Muslims and Palestinas are impacted regardless. college students are risking their careers and education by protesting, and they're not rich, they're actually putting their money in their mouths, donating money you already have and limiting your support in favor of optics for your brand, isn't putting your money where your mouth is. I'm not saying lud is bad, he just doesn't take the issue as serious as someone with family at stake.
Hasan says that if ludwig just said the first part no one would care but I don't think that's true, lud is a terribly neutral guy, soon as he takes a stance that could be controversial his brand and companies with lots of employees could be at risk for no reason at all, altough this is becoming drama right now, mentioning his donation and leaving the problem away might be the right decision for him
This is the reason why I empathized with Lud's take about this situation. He is carrying people on his back(Mogul Moves and Off Brand). If he goes full throttled support for Palestine(which I think is great), most of his sponsorship will be gone. Especially, considering he is in his "bag" era. As much as I want Ludwig to be vocal about the situation. I understand his decision to be "apolitical" in this topic.

it's a dumb move to donate to a good cause, and then right after mention he doesn't want to push it too hard because he doesn't want to lose revenue/fans. it's like saying, "I donated so leave me alone, and if you hate that I donated, I don't really care about this issue thaat much, so please don't be mad." it's an incredibly insensitive move, there's no 2 sides in a genocide, you can't just say "to each there own" it doesn't work. this isn't art or a lifestyle.

@@sknakhunt42 no, its more like guidelines to respect him and others on his channel. not to upload stuff he tells you not to or to wait after he does or portray his guests in a bad light, etc. I'm sure you can find the information if you look. I've never been interested in doing it, so I don't know the details but there are definitely some guidelines to prevent yourself from making him not wanting your channel up.
