I have two friends that are both exactly like this and it's way too hard to hang out with them 1 on 1 anymore. They both have some form of ADD, so while I can listen to them and be an active listener when they speak, I cannot rely on them to do the same. They'll cut me off and interject with something completely random and off topic while I'm mid-sentence (it's as if they physically can't keep it in) and I can easily tell when they're not paying attention to anything I've said and have completely checked-out.
It sucks too, because they're both really good dudes and have good hearts but I just can't anymore for longer than a few hours if and when we ever do get together, ya know? Especially as I get older, I find that I've started to prioritize my time differently.
