My 8-year-old white son was transferred to a school that has a large black population. He has learned that the sun hates his skin and that it's okay for black people to call him a bleach baby. He said "Mom I'm trying to like black people I just don't think they want me to like them". This obsession with hating white people is causing more of a division. I can teach my son about the inequalities, but at the end of the day if black kids are bullying him because of his color, that's going to stick with him for the rest of his life no matter what I say.

Their get-out-of-jail free card is that they can claim 'whiteness' isn't a skin color, but an ideology (encompassing things like punctuality or the nuclear family). That allows them to mean 'white' as an incidental trait of a person, but also, when convenient, an unfalsifiable original sin.' It's at best inflammatory if you denounce whiteness and someone who hears you thinks you mean caucasoids (I'm aware that it's seen as a faulty classification) and punches one in the face.
Dated a native girl when I was in my early 20's who was like this. I had pretty low self esteem back then. She kept her issues hidden until a few months in. Then it was constant berating and insults about my skin color. Calling me honkie, cracker, and colonizer. Making me watch colonizer 'documentaries' (propaganda) that the band council produced explaining how I'm an oppressor by nature for being a white male and that I needed to be quiet and do as I was told when on the res. This isn't my home, I'm an unwelcome guest who impoverished their people. The irony is that the only reason I put up with it is because her cupboards always had food. Mine were always empty despite working 40+hrs/week. I actually grew up poor in a 200 year old farm house in the middle of nowhere. She grew up in an upper-middle class family in a 20 yr old suburban home. The relationship ended with drunk band members kicking my face in until I was unrecognizable because one of them had a crush on my gf and hated that a white boy was with her. Don't be like me. Make racists lonely.

My dad did consulting on a Native reserve. As a red haired Scot Canadian he was propositioned daily by the native women who dreamed of a redhead native baby. I also found the same "desire" with many ladies as well. In Europe we don't use color to define people, but their ethnicity. Growing up as an Albanian in a western European country we get treated differently than for example the USA. If you're from the east of Vienna you'll get the "Ausländer" treatment, while in the USA I'll get the white privilege card

I've noticed this. Literally just last night I was talking to my wife about an incident with one of our friends (Moroccan Arabic girl) making casual racist remarks about "typical white men" within earshot of us (we're both white and we were both kinda like "Um what?") - and she's also in a long-term relationship with a white man whom she's been living with since leaving uni. It was weird
It’s because they think they can get away with it, it’s just pure arrogance that all this “people of colour can’t be racist” has produced. Yeah I've experienced this too. I'm white and in one case I had been dating a Mexican woman. A couple of times she had made some very disrespectful and hateful comments about white people. It was obvious to me that she was not joking. But the second time she said something like that I didn't even know what to say or do, other than to walk out. I did just that; I got up and walked out of her place, didn't say one word, just walked out. She followed me out trying to say "I'm just joking!" ("It's just a prank, bro!") That was the end of our relationship.
Another time I was dating a native American woman. Her friends and mother didn't even try to pretend or hide their disdain for me. Then she told me how I was just a "white phase". That was the end of that one.
I wish I could say I was making this stuff up.

I am half Sioux Native half German. I live in Germany. I have a wife who is half black and half Asian herself. So a complete mix.

I get told by other Native Americans that I'm not Native enough because I don't live or was born in America and I'm only half Native. My mom is ostracized because she married a white German man. My wife is bullied by some black people because she is too “light skinned” and therefore not “black” enough for some people. Some see it as a betrayal that she married a native or white man. Asians sometimes don't see her as Asian because she looks too black to them. When we go to visit her American relatives, racism is often directed at us. Some black men approached me because they said "I (guess they saw me as white) was taking their black women away from them". Some black women attacked my wife because they said "we shouldn't mix, it's a betrayal of our black race". Some black women have attacked me because they are adamant that "it's just a kink or fetish that you, as a white man, like black women." All black or Asian people who took or took sides with us were also treated as having no idea. I could now give countless other examples.
Apparently who or what you are is no longer right enough for anyone. And at the same time I am told that racism or sexism is a one-way street and can only come from white men. It's funny that no one has ever really asked about the circumstances under which my wife and I met, how we fell in love, what our future wishes are. No, everyone is only interested in the “is” state. Nobody cares that there are simply two people who don't care about their respective origins, origins, skin color, etc. and who simply like and love each other. So much arrogance, self-centeredness and selfishness. But I also have to say that this is mainly a problem when we are in America or Asia. Here in Germany, most people don't care who is with whom because there isn't this obsession with "race" or "ethnicity". Especially since the word “race” is rightly banned here because it comes from different historical backgrounds and is biologically incorrect. People are stupid. Just let people love who they want. At the end of the day, we are all one species and just want to be happy and live in peace.
I was in a relationship with an Asian woman. She and her Asian friends would call me slurs behind my back. She thought this was totally normal and ok. My mom had us over for thanksgiving and she described it to her Asian friends as, “stereotypical gweilo stuff.” I looked it up and was really angry that someone would spend a holiday with my family, only to then openly call us “ghost people” or “white devils.”
They like the way white people look, but have no respect for them as individual human beings. That's the only way I can explain this crazy hypocritical behavior.

The ones that aren’t do date/marry interracially but have so much hatred for said race they’re with it’s really weird. Statistics show interracial marriage is on the rise so this won’t last forever. Mixed race children are also on the rise and have started to change attitudes towards race. In good ways and bad.

I think instead of shaming and canceling people with have to have these conversations to see that racism comes from all races and we all need to look at what we’re thinking and saying. During the COVID/George Floyd years, it was super weird to see my friends - biracial/interracial MARRIED couples - spew the toxic talking points about how "white people are the problem". Most of NYC are in interracial relationships and have been since I've been alive, so the sudden shift to label one race the enemy and harbinger of all bad things was absolutely beyond ridiculous. I voiced that and got excommunicated for a bit. Got labeled the "wild card" of dinner gatherings. My beautiful husband (who happens to be white) stood by my side (as did some of our friends who secretly agreed with my sentiments).
I hated that time so much...
