Why do so many of you feel the need to make derogatory comments on this video? They are decorative & lovely. I think a lot of people use the excuse of being “honest” when in fact, they’re just using honesty as an excuse to be rude.

I haven't read all the comments, so this may have already been mentioned, but as a long time sewist, I would recommend you try putting a pressing cloth over the ribbon before you press it. It will take care of the ribbon sticking or melting. :) Hope this helps you a little as you help us a lot with your tutorials.

Kelly for the video I ty. I personally love this idea. I had watched it before, but I did not have time last year to make them. This year I will be making them and giving for christmas gifts. As far as people saying that they are not practical. I disagree. I host Thanksgiving and Christmas every year at my house. I put out decorative towels on the towel rack FOR LOOKS !!!! But, I also provide finger towels in a basket on the counter by the sink, and guest napkins to dry your hands. Use your imagination people and get over yourselves. The fingertip towels and guest napkins are a cheap alternative to use instead of the decorative towels on the towel rack... keep up the good work Kelly !!!! kudos to you :)

When my great nieces were little girls, I used bath towels in the usual colors pink, purple, yellow, red, orange etc. and made them their own sets. I added ribbons, bows, buttons. Each one had a emblem cut from tshirt I found at a second hand store which was attached to the bath towel like a pocket. I also used heat bond but included machine stitching and hand sewing where I needed more durability. The end result were sets of towels that all the girls fell in love with. Sister's had their own sets and stopped fighting over who's towel was who's. This was 6 years ago. My great nieces are much older but some still have their towels just stored away now. Others are still using theirs. This video has inspired me to recreate the gift again this year for Christmas and include mini spa sets now that they are older. Thanks for the post. Love your videos.

Ellen Hanna -- you are forgetting that youtube is a communication forum intended to teach, learn, exchange ideas, argue issues, offer encouragement, pay compliments and criticize, and sometimes even suffer the insults and other consequences of posting one's ideas. If you expose yourself to this kind of media and medium, you had better be a big girl and big boy and deal with the result. Otherwise, if one cannot stand the heat, then he/she had better stay out of the kitchen so he/she doesn't get hurt.

Tacks, that is not even a little bit correct. People got way too comfortable hiding behind screens and being jerks. This isn't a debate forum. It's not Twitter.
Your name made me think of the word "tact", something sadly and often missing in some people.
Many sites have completely removed comment sections because the behavior was not constructive. There is certainly room for *constructive critique* but that is about using what YOU know to help someone else do better. I learned that very young, because I performed a lot. I also grew up with constant verbal abuse at home, so I can absolutely tell one from the other. One builds up. The other tears down. Let's do better.

Hello Kelly, I just saw your decorative towel on you tube. I just loved it. And right now during this epidemic of coronovirus and everyone is suppose to stay in is a great time to do this. Im 62 yrs old and have health problems so i do not go out anywhere. I do keep a towel in my bathroom just for looks, and my 45 yr old son knows better than to touch it. Mine are not really much in the way of decorative but i fold my bath towel a certain way and i use a pretty shower curtain ring on my hand towel which goes over the bath towel. And just fold a washcloth over the towel. What you did gave me some ideas and im going to start today. Thank you so much Kelly. God bless you.

Hi Kelly, this is a great tutorial especially because you show how you don't need to sew which would put some people off. I think they look lovely, I would sew them myself as they can be washed without them falling apart and also so they can be used as a normal towel. Saying that I still say these are a lovely idea. I have to say though, I can't believe the amount of basically rude comments from some people ! It's ok to voice an opinion but there's no need to be rude, I always say if you can't be polite then don't say anything at all. Please don't let the rude comments upset you, your tutorials are great. Thank you 😁 I was so sorry to hear about your sister, I'm so sorry for your loss x

VERY NICE! I did this in my Victorian home in all 3 bathrooms and went nuts! There is so much pretty, beaded dangling fringe out there to choose from. I use a few different but coordinating fabrics and beautiful grosgrain ribbons. Because you don't need much it was very cost effective! It's been quite a few years, but they've held up great, however it's time for change! Funny, I started just before watching this! I'm incorporating velvet! Now, what else can we make withe this easy, fun method? Some kitchen towels? Pillow shams? Jazz up a table runner or some curtains! I am not a great sewer, but I remember watching Mom laying fabric over the sofa and cutting and sewing slipcovers! So, I tried it on my beds! Just common-sense cutting squares! adding trim made then so pretty. In my guest room I copied the fabric design of blue hydrangeas on 2 end tables I rescued.... Oh my! I'm rambling on. Thank you for re-inspiring me! I've been ill for a while now, but many of these projects are manageable with huge impact! Starting with towels! you always have different ideas than many other channels. I just found you about a month ago. Prayer to your family.

These towels look nice, and you're obviously very creative, but they're not practical if you can't wash them in the washing machine.

Alison Grace this can also be done on a sewing machine as well to eliminate the no wash thing. I do love cute towels though.
I'll have to recreate this on my setting machine for sure.

I thought the video was about decorative towels, "decorative" being the operative word, not "practical." $6.00 and a little time, I would trash when dirty or tired of looking at! Thanks, video creator, I'll certainly say a few bucks because of your DIY tutorial....and yes it will be more durable for washing if a sewing machine was used. Thanks again.

These are cute, but I saw at the end of the video the examples you show of the 3 completed towels you’ve done and they sure look like they have been sewn at the edges. I just thought you said it was a no sew project. Maybe you wanted us to see a towel completed with a machine and for us to see the difference?? Anyway they were nicely done and as everyone else is saying I too would like to see the shower curtain as well as the window coverings. But I did notice that you didn’t say they were no sew projects as well. So are they? Can’t wait to see.

Just happened to notice this video, this will make GREAT towels for the bathrooms for Christmas( and to give out as gifts!),, thanks for the DIY idea, I am already working on serger tree napkins and a tree skirtl but this is no sew, and can actually get the kids to help ! One hint (, just bc I have done this myself) I always use an iron cloth when working w anything sticky,, have had to clean my iron more than once! Thanks again!

Decorative towels cost a small fortune. You can get a deco bath towel, hand towel and wash cloth for upwards of $50-$60 ...typically at least that. I do my own- save a lot of money and have a one of a kind set. But... ohhh boy! I can’t wait to try this your way!! I’ve never used that heat & bond tape before.
Those look soooo good! You did awesome! And you’re so right. I little bit of personalization can go a very long way. It can make all the difference in your home!

You make your own shower curtains! They can be so pretty AND expensive. Do you have any recommendations for a shower curtain liner that washes well?
