LOL the Swiss halberds were easily defeated by the Tercios in Bicoca and never walked out of their mountains again LOL. And the Swiss Guard died and were unable to prevent the capture of the Pope.

Esta serie no va en serio. Clemente VII era mas joven (no llegaba a 50 años) tenia barba y era un caradura.
Carlos I no era un principe de oro comp te lo venden aqui. Era un gran rey y emperador SI, pero no el hermano de Brad Pitt tenia sus defectos fisicos. Esta serie no engrandece a Carlos I ni a su vida, la vende como perfecta. Lo dice alguien que admira a Carlos I y V por lo que hizo y consiguió no por ser el guapo de su epoca.
Has visto toda la serie? No vende a Carlos como perfecto, no no. Carlos es un humano en ella, imperfecto como todos los humanos. Tiene sus defectos. Por qué es Carlos guapo en la serie? Porque casi todos los actores en el mundo son hombres guapos 😄 Personas no guapos casi nunca llegan a ser exitosos en la profesión de actor. Así son las audiencias en todo el mundo. Quieren ver personas hermosas en la plantalla. Enrique VIII está interpretado siempre por actores guapos y no como gordo, la reina Victoria es siempre hermosa, etc, etc.
Lo que importa en el caracter de Carlos (en la serie y en la realidad) no es su exterior, sino sus caracteristicos personales. Su desarollo como caracter, su sabiduría, su gran corazón, sus luchas internas sobre la gobernanza de sus tierras diversas. Y la serie hace un trabajo bastante bueno con esto. No lo venden como principe de oro ni perfecto. Lo que consigue en la serie como monarca NO ES por ser guapo, claro. Es por ser intelligente, sabio, etc.
Sí que la serie engrandece a Carlos y su vida. La grandeza de una monarca no tiene NADA que ver con su exterior, igual si es guapo o no. Es su reinado lo que lo hace grande, nunca su belleza.
Y Alvaro Cevantes no es Brad Pitt 😄 Ni siquiera está entre los más guapos actores de España. No es guapo, no es feo. Es normal. Y lo que hace en la serie como Carlos, su transformación desde un niño de 17 hasta su muerte, es actuación fenomenal.
Claro que la serie no es un documental, ninguno de las drama históricos lo son. Pero entre otras películas y series históricas, es bastante buena. Más fiel a la historia que otras series como Los Tudor, Versailles, Vikingos, etc.

Y cleopatra era una enana regordeta con nariz de águila. No era la belleza de Elizabeth tailor en el cine.

Feo feo no era. Más allá de la característica mandíbula en media luna de los Habsburgo, los testimonios nos dejan constancia de que era un hombre bastante agraciado (herencia de su padre).
Hombre, a su padre, Felipe, hijo del emperador Maximiliano I de Hausburgo y María de Borgoña, le llamaban "el Hermoso". Algo de eso le tocaría a Carlos.

Carlos V (I of Spain) is part French by the Habsburg family - not the Bourbon. Carlos V (I of Spain) is grandson of kings of United Kingdom of SPAIN (Reino Unido de España), Isabel of Castile and Fernando of Aragon. Nothing of Bourbon he had.
You're one of the rare people that I know who use "actual" as "current" like you did instead of "real"😮(I was always taught it was a deceptive cognate in French).
Jokes aside, Charles V is partly Spanish by his mother culturally speaking not so much, and he comes from Trastamara branch, not current Bourbon, the one that only came to power in 1700's.

Al papa le estuvo bien empleado, por jugar con quien no debía. Además el saco también fue motivado por problemas y retrasos con los pagos a los tercios españoles, que llevaban ya varias batallas luchadas sin recibir sus honorarios. Al final, si no te dan lo que te deben, lo tomas.
