I like Ryu I love the simplicity of his primary story He lives to fight and fights to live and he is simply content with the challenge of refining himself as a warrior its that simple beautiful ideal of pursuing what we love and how simple it is to understand that makes Ryu such a great character without having to strive for being unimaginably deep he does not need some complex tragic past or prophetic destiny all he needs is a good fight and he is content

I laughed when Ryu and Ken's long range combos turned out to be good old fireball spam. I laughed more when I spammed too much and Saya countered with a jump in attack.
He may not be the most visually elaborate, interesting, or unique character, but he's literally THE original hero of fighting games, you gotta respect Ryu, and, despite the arrival of increasingly "cool", unusual and just plain bizarre newcomers, he's still pretty damn cool at the end of the day, more so than many of the "new generation" in fact.
I always think that Ryu and Jin are the major characters of Namco & Capcom. It be awesome that those two were be in Endless Frontier just like KOS-MOS were in it...

It was good to see Ryu along side with other Tekken & Soulcalibur characters. Don't forget to mention Evil Ryu. Man he was awesome & his Raging Demon move was great.

depends, at this moment ryu can only control the satsui no hadou in the form of a hadouken (metsu hadouken, also see the ties that bind) altho its a strong move in the movies im sure its avoidable if you know ryu can do it. seth didn't see it coming and im sure if now ken and ryu would battle ken would watch out for it that, and ken's shinryuken is damn powerfull i mean, he DID train it to be perfect but yen ryu is daaaaamn powerfull now that he can control the satsui no hadou
At this point Ryu should just face off with Goku, both want stronger opponents and they never have, both train hard in order to become the best of the best. Its time that those two need to face off. Besides it fits perfectly for their next crossover.
I wonder what will happen if Evil Ryu gets Soul Edge in his hands. Bison would be no match for him if Evil Ryu possess The Evil Sword or the Cursed Sword "Soul Edge" imagine how much power he would gain by grabbing Soul Edge. Man Akuma would be hitting his head against the wall for letting Ryu possess both the "Satsui No Hado" & "Soul Edge". I wonder what will become of him.
@Julienfun Actually, Gouken was always the mentor. Sheng Long was just a miss translation of Shoryuken. It started a fad that even got a special design in a game magazines False version. joke version. Whatever. SFIV even took that design when they decided to make Gouken.

Correct. As far as Sagat was concerned, the fight was over, so he let his guard down. Ryu wasn't having it, though, hence the Metsu Shoryuken.
