I’ve noticed anthias prefer and thrive in a particular type of flow. While they do need moderate/strong flow, they do best with a constant wall of water movement (could be termed gyre or laminar flow). While this could still alternate a few times per day (on something like a tidal schedule) they do NOT prefer turbulence, wavelike motion, constant back and forth, or frequent directional changes. So even within the category of “strong flow” there are important differences.

Where in the flow spectrum would you put wrasse, butterflies and angels?
