- This summer I’m focusing allot on my 1 acre garden paradise. All though my priorities are usually based around orchids, I do have other just as important plants and crops around my space. This summer my Alocasias are growing beautifully straight out of the grounds. Some super cool surprises. As always I lake you for a walk and share some of my tips along the way. Nelson, your Bulbophyllum Phalaenopsis is AMAZING. I had seen it, in bloom, on Natasha’s video 😱. I have had a Stanhope for 3 years and it has not bloomed once yet😩. Can’t wait. As always, wonderful to visit your little corner of paradise filled with gorgeous plants😍

The plastic boxes are way better than natural. These 3D Vanda boxes are made of corn 🌽 so it does not impact the environment. Also, it never withers away like all wood boxes do for orchids. Every single wood box I’ve purchased has rotted in less than a year in my environment. It gets a bit annoying having to repurchase the wood boxes and reestablish my Vandas on to them every year. So from now on I’m sticking to these. Problem solved. 🤗

Oh no Nelson, I just watched Natasha’s part 2 video visiting you and learned the passing of Patrick😥. I am so sorry and, to be honest, I have been missing him a lot. Once I asked you how he was and you told me that a new “type A” cat had moved in and Patrick was scared of him so, I thought the situation was the same. Once again, I am very sorry your kitty is gone. I hope you find solace in knowing what a great life, filled with love, you gave him😽😍
Thanks so much. It was very painful. He was very old and started to have health issues. I have to accept that they’re outdoor cats and these things happen. 🙏🏼😢

That happens with stanhopeas but if you dont mind an advice take out of there place it under a tree with plenty light, you have it in a basket so it doesnt matter if get extra water it will dry fast .

Everything is looking so gorgeous! It was so much fun working with you to create that one of a kind vanda basket, I'll be adding them this week to my line of vanda sleeves/baskets! Any ideas for what I can name it? I love naming my creations maybe Nel's Vanda Box? I wish I could save all of the kitties too. Julio will most likely be getting a sister this fall...

You’ve listed the address for Motes in your information. Do you know if they are open to the public? Coming to the area and would love to see their grow space. Thank you for a wonderful channel.
Best case is to call them. I put the information they have out there. But I believe after Covid they have not done anymore open houses. Best place to purchase their orchids is in the international shows or the exotic plant show coming up real soon in October at Fruit and Spice park. Also you can simply order online which is where most of their orchid sales are made.

Another fabulous video!! thank you so much. a couple questions if I may please, can you tell me in those gigantic Phals … are you growing them in all Spag.moss and I saw in your cattleya ‘s you had a mixture of the red and black volcanic rock with some cultural charcoal… Is there any difference in the red and the black volcanic rock… Any reasoning for mixing the two is it aesthetics or is there a cultivation reason?

Thank you! The red and black lava I mix cause I like the two tones together. The charcoal is to keep things clean.
