I seeded GCI TTTF for the first time and did my first mow last week. All I can say is Wow!!! It looks like dark green plush carpet! Great seed I'm very pleased!
Awesome! I love it as well in my lawn. It's a fantastic seed for sure.
I wouldn't dare rake my fescue lawn, so what I plan to do is blow all the leaves to a corner and use my corded leaf vacuum that sucks up and mulches up the leaves.
I tried bagging and mulching with mower and it was messy.
I actually blew my leaves off the lawn yesterday. First time this year. Kinda satisfying haha

It's interesting to hear the roots on SJ's grass were so deep. I'm curious if there will be a difference in the root structure of both GCI and Southern Seed mixes. Love the shirt!

I literally overseeded with triple threat last year and wanted to do gci this year but wasn’t sure if it would be super different thanks for the video!!!
I over seeded with GCI TTTF n Kentucky blue blend 2 years ago gotta say I had great results super happy with it was expensive to over seed n acre of grass but it was worth it at the end best lawn in my neighborhood especially when it’s cut with my big lawn leagues stripping kit on my zero turn takes it to another level🤙🏽😎🎯

ROOTS: at 1:50 you said that the Young Transplanted Potted Grass had roots that were ‘a Foot-and-a-half-deep’; did you mean (an-Inch-and-a-half-deep) ?
- I recently was lightly raking Magnolia leaves under the trees in my Overseeded Fescue and accidentally uprooted area close to the trunk (that ring that gets worn from mower wheels) and was surprised how shallow those roots were in comparison to top growth - they were Short and Hair-like.
Thanks Tom. Yea the roots were roughly more like 6-7 inches deep. Def well established but I was just guessing while eyeballing the size of the pot. On this test we'll let it grow several weeks then look at the roots for fun.

What type of grass would you suggest for a shady yard that the grass always thins out on and gets heavy wear? My backyard has been struggling and is constantly thin and has many bare sports. The yard is mostly fine fescue but it just can’t handle heavy traffic from people and pets running around on it. And it’s tough to get grass to grow in some areas because of all the shade in the summertime.
Id try out the dense shade mix from Jonathan Green. It's what I used, but not sure how it holds up to heavy foot traffic. You'd have to try and see. Jonathan Green does make a seed for heavy foot traffic though. May want to take a peak at their website. amzn.to/3LPKs0p
