I have never been able to wrap my head around the fact these guys didn't go huge
1992 was a weird time for them to come out. I actually think they would have fit better in 1994 where their mix of influences and odd sense of humor would have been better appreciated. I see this as a great radio follow up to say, Black Hole Sun.
@@toddwilliams8128 I thought they came on just a little too late and that was the thing. For my money, the best band to debut in 1992. That's for damn sure!
Too late to catch the glam rock scene, and too early to catch the hard rock revival. Apparently this band was in a huge bidding war between a few record companies back in the day. But the winner took it in the pants when this band's album failed to sale. Maybe that was the point of LSD. Generate a lot of hype and cost a corporation a lot of money.
Either way, this band and album is pretty good, and a forgotten gem.
Pretty sure acting like a smelly dirty homeless guy was a big factor
There are some bands and solo muscians who I truly and very deeply regret not seeing in concert. LSD is one of those bands. This band was as original and unique as a hard rock band can be. "The Silent Majority" is timeless and never gets old.
Still spinning the old CD. LSD fan of 30 years.
Stanley is such a great singer. I bought this album when it came out on cassette and literally wore the tape in two. Thank god for CDs. I went through 5 copies of "kill 'em all" before I switched to disks lol.
Beavis & Butthead brought me here!
same XD
Same. :-)
LoL I had it a bit before but ya I seen it on beavis & butthead too
Same here.
If it isn't this, then its Tank XD
The girl in this video recently passed away unexpectedly. Her name was Lara Mays. She left behind a young daughter. I did not know her, but I have dear friends who did, and they tell me she was a wonderful person and a great Mom. If you can help with her final expenses and add anything for the care of her child, it would be most appreciated. Even if you can’t help, please share this go fund me link. Best to all of you. www.gofundme.com/f/laras-funeral-funds?+share-sheet
Good scam my friend
@@socialabuse104 Get bent, clown.
Wonder what ever happened to this band. They released this one album, then gone. One of the most underated albums IMO.
Would someone make a proper documentary of these guys!??
Sid Vicious meets ACDC.
my band opened up for lsd in Minneapolis. good times! Stanley rules!
Where did they play in Minneapolis!? Wish I would have been there!
Was that the Lynch Mob show at The Mirage?
@@rdpete no it was at the 7th street entry 1991 i believe
Twin Cities! St. Paul Chapter, Holla!!!
Stil one of my favorite albums after all these years. Classic.
That's how it is! stainless album!
Stanley. What an entertainer! I miss this guy. One-of-a-kind! Excellent voice, excellent front-man. The stage was made for him! Both microphone and camera love him. There's no one else quite like him. What is he up to these days? Whatever he is doing, I pray he is happy, fulfilled, and prosperous. His contribution to the arts should not go un-rewarded. I'd love to see him do some new stuff. I think of LSD Stanley and also the drummer really made the sparks fly. I wonder what became of him, too?
Word on the street is he sells real estate in the Midwest.
Such an UnderratedbBand! Loved the “Whino -Bum as a frontman! They put on a hell of a LIVE show!!
I really think pop culture and music in general need a good hard kick in the balls right now. So does big-government (yes both rep. And dems) big corporations, the music industry, etc.
Stanley and LSD are friggin awesome and their songs are timeless and even more relevant as time goes on.
I was a huge LSD fan in the 90s and would love to see them again!
Shallow, corney, and wonderful
Loved this tune as a youngster. Legit popped in my head 5 mins ago lol
It's been like 10 years since I heard it......even better now
It really held up well!
Stanley had some great moves.
The early 90s vibes are strong with this one.
Hi from Australia. What a brilliant album The Silent Majority is. Still one of my fave's.
i think it still rings out today
Saw these guys live once. Just downloaded their 1 album. Have a small pile of 10 cassettes of the album too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!!
Such a great song
his moves are hilarious
You guy's should have been HUGE ! ! ! ! ! One of my all time fav band's...
+Deacon SYNN It was a trip that the whole thing behind who and what Stanley was so clouded in mystery! Was it an "act" or a "gimmick", was he really a homeless guy who just happened to be this amazingly talented and was somehow able to function so well as their bandmate and frontman, or what? I wonder if we'll ever REALLY know the true story. Such a shame they only did this one album, then basically disappeared.
+M Mireaux even though the only did one album they're still Legends in my book
+Deacon SYNN Agreed! I originally went to Amoeba Records on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood to try to find their album a while back, but they said it was "supposedly" out of print. So I went on Ebay and found about five REALLY good copies of it through private sellers-and grabbed one! Incredible, raunchy, tight and downright awesome! Even though the entire album kicks ass, "Schools For Fools" and "Tank" are my two favorites! I could watch the video for "Schools For Fools" over and over again and NEVER get tired of it!! SO sorry I never had a chance to catch them live!!
+M Mireaux I like the whole album but by far my favorite is telephone song
what a incredible LP a friend of mine brought me a copy of the CD back from LA when he was their and I LOVE IT it's sad that they did not get more material together
is their any outtakes from the studio that can be made in to a box set
Hard Punk Rock
Seen them at the Avalon in Chi Town early 90’s.
remember first seeing this on Beavis and Butthead and then decided to buy the CD. such amazing music! very underrated band
Freakin' rocks!
LOVE THIS BAND!!!!!!! still in 2020
The lyrics are so dead on. Very under-rated band.
i need my daily dose of LSD!!!
TexasDebs Hey Texas,
I don't remember if I responded to you before, but they were friends of mine, and Brian Horak was my closest friend from LSD. Stan inherited millions from his Dad and I'm told he lives out by me, but in Malibu. I live in Burbank. My buddy Steve (who now lives 40 miles outside of Austin, Tejas) was my connection to Brian and the band. Stan came to love me, and would come up and give me these huge hugs when he would see me, and God bless him, I loved those guys, but near the end, I have no idea how long he went between bathing. It was probably more like "de-lousing"! Steve has been trying to track down Brian lately. He quit drumming, (which is criminal, that cat was SIIIICK! Like a praying mantis, arms just flying all over, Brian was bad fucking ass) and was living in Arizona. I think Steve told me he went back to Chicago. I used to train Alex, I've been a body builder for over 30 years, so I was helping him get ready to go tour Europe. But we lost touch. Google him. Last I saw, he was the lead singer in some "used to be MAJOR punk band from NYC", but they were nothing to that bands true fans. That's the best I got. Hope it helps. I could put on Rise Above right now, and I would be crying within 2 minutes. EPIC SONG. Axl Rose copped more than he will ever admit from Stan.
I remember buying this cd and playing the shit out of it I’ve always wondered how they did not get a multi million record deal
I remember seeing it on MTV right when Henry Rollins daughter playing for Black Flag I went out and bought the CD I'm a tank I Love that song
chitownbluesy Wow cool info!!
I managed the band from shortly after they arrived in LA, to their deal with Warner Bros. Many many memories are conjured seeing those guys. You mention Rise Above, and triggers the memory of when we had a meeting in the CEO of Warner Bros with the band in his office, and Stanley played the song while accompanying himself on the piano. The ‘click’ of his fingernails was audible as he played. It was quite something. Ultimately, the guys felt that a big management firm was more in their best interest, and I went on to...well, not much really. I do think sometimes of what coulda been! What a talented bunch of guys. Their club shows were beyond, and to this day the best thing I’ve ever seen. Would always love standing backstage at the edge looking out into the audience and seeing a sea of dropped jaws!
One of my favorite albums of all time.
TRUE TALENT!!!
I remember someone telling me the singer was homeless and i always thought it was nice the rest of the band gave him the chance to be in a band.
Can't believe this song aged so well
These guys NEED to reunite NOW!
I still own the LSD Vinyl ..purchased in the UK many many years ago..
Great shows at the 930 club in DC
The dancing hobo love it!!!!
So much truth to this song about the education system today
This song is so relevant in today's times
Stanley is so cool!
estuve buscando este video desde hace 4 años y al fin lo subieron. LSD lo máximo!!!!
Oh LSD! How I love you! I am reminiscing through your videos... COOOME BAAACK!
I friggen love Stanley and this album!! \m/
Go Stanley go
I just stumbled on this on this on UA-cam. I saw these guys live in West Hollywood when I was young at least 20 times, they were absolutely off the hook unbelievable. Brings back great memories. ... Within a real short period of time the record companies were all bidding to contract them. I thought they would be absolutely huge, Unfortunately the producers of the record company directed them to make a lot of changes with the music and overdubbed the album and ruined their sound.
I actually have one of the heads from this video because my dad was one of the cameramen
1:50 - 2:02 A B C D E F G, you wanna tell the teacher about LSD :D thats my favorite part
Play This Song At The Chicago Blackhawks home game
Wow. This music was the perfect bridge between 80s Hair Metal & 90s Alternative Grunge. These guys should've been Huuuuge. WtF.?
That’s exactly what I thought the first time I heard this song. Right on, Dude.
Such a weird contrast. Tank was straight up 90s grunge/thrash, while this sounds like an 80s Twisted Sister anthem.
Put it on Rock Block on TV
Hey man nice shot.
"what was that song on MTV Headbanger's Ball in the early 90s?" brought me here..
Trixter fronted by Ian Curtis! Genius!
This nerd can rock!
love it!
real rock music , before grunge ruined it all heavily pushed by the record company's , almost overnight they replaced all the good music with crap about feelings of inadequacy and loneliness, ill call it LOSERISEM, well were are these grunge bands now ? all dead. some by overdose some by suicide the rest faded back into the obscurity they came from. good ! so maybe real rock music can get the recognition it rightly deserves again ? come back l.s.d. we miss you .

David Byrne's got nothin' on Stanley's moves.
Hi from LPR! Awesome song!
This band could've been huge, mainly due to the frontman. He could form a whole new band around him and nobody would notice.
Dang...just dang
They Live
It's too bad these guys didn't go on to to more records-their stuff kicked ass! I remember there were so many rumors going around about Stanley-was he "really" a "homeless" guy who also just happened to be their frontman, or was it a cleverly conceived and created "gimmick" and just an "act" to get people talking and create publicity. Very interesting! I wonder whatever happened to all of them-especially Stanley! One of those mysteries of life, I guess!
Beavis & Butterhead me fazendo achando músicas fodas 🤘
Beavis: What a dork!
Hey look it’s Judy Nails !
Only the 90s to have creative stuff like this hahah.
Seriously, this shit rocks.
I loved the shit out of this band when they came out.
Yes, they should have been huge. Unfortunately, their genre was out of vogue when they came around.
I didn’t care. Good was good. And they fucking rocked. Really sad I never saw them live.
I was at that coach house show
Gods!
THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNKK
YOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUU!!!!
:D
Stanley rules!!
kicks ass
Put It On Rock Block
awesome solo alex
i just had to record this for posterity:
this happened on 6/6/2021.
The split because the bassist, Billy Gar left. Gar played 8 and 12 string basses exclusively, and had to be replaced by two bassists on stage. Then the lead guitarist left, and after going throgh a series of replacement lead guitarists, all while having a problem keeping two bassists who could play synced enough to duplicate one really good guy playing a 12-string, they folded.
It is odd seeing Stanley in this video and then watching him as Chris in the American Noize video. Huge contrast. funny.
I’m a huge fan of Stanley’s. Is American Noize another band he was in? Does anyone know what happened to ole Stanley?? 🤷🏻♂️
@@screamachine13 It was a demo they did. You can find it on this channel if you haven't already.
Man Quail Thank you! 🤘
@@screamachine13 no problem! I discovered lsd within the last year while watching Beavis and butthead. The School is for fools music video was on there so this channel was a godsend lol. If you're looking for more lsd there are several demos as well as songs to an unreleased album you can find on this channel if you dig through their videos.
Man Quail I used to live in Boston and I saw them during the 80’s. I was downtown and happened upon their show. I remember Stanley bumping into people before the show, and I had NO IDEA he was the singer. My mind was blown that night... what a great performance! I live in Tampa, Florida now. Take care!!

it takes a wiseman to act the fool....
Stanely. Thirsty whale chicago bro. Fucking loved you guys.
Stanley stands alone.
So, once upon a time a punk singer joined a hair metal band...
i saw these guys in new york at the limelight and stanley was funny but he smelled so bad i won tickets from a radio station in like 94 i think i wish the lime light still was around i miss that place
joey bagnato - I knew Mark the door guy. He worked at the Cat Club also. Limelight was always a blast. I had a lot of fun in the lounge in the women's rest room!
The only school that even matters is college and you still need to pay it off 😂😂
+WeKnowTheTruth2012 Sucks, doesn't it?!
