I can't be the only one. Who's who's annoyed with how Ubisoft and other major companies will say a game supposed to have true freedom but they limit how much you can do. And it's not like it's impossible to do. Look at Rockstar games with GTA and Red Dead. One of the biggest embodiments of true freedom. They don't stop you from doing anything and then everything else just ends up being a another star field with empty promises and sad customers
@@Church-8888 I totally agree. Triple A games have started to feel a lot more contained recently, and it’s disappointing when looking at past games that have very few limits on what players can do.
To be honest, when I saw skull and Bones I thought it would allow me to hop off my ship and board. An enemy ship killing their crew which would probably ai and then slowly making my way to kill the captain being the only player on the ship but then I realized that you can only leave your at Port and that's that's. Probably the reason it flopped so hard again. Empty problems and missed expectations
Try Starfield SW mods, I mean there is much rightful criticism to this game, but compared to other modern games, there is still a lot of freedom in it (even though it might be less than in older BGS-Games....)
@@hoerstle6636 I’ve been meaning to try this! I’ve partial played through starfield once, but revisiting it with Star Wars mods has been on my bucket list for a while now.
Ah yes, The Division is also on the long list of failed promises Ubisoft has brought us. I was really looking forward to it, until it released. And thanks man I appreciate it!
Star Wars has needed a win for a long time. I was really hoping this game would have been that win. I guess I'll be placing my bets on Eclipse instead.
Everyone please don't pre-order this!! If enough people do order it. They will see that all this is OK. I want to try this out but won't be paying full price for it.will wait for a sale.
That’s exactly the route I’m going to take, pre-ordering games makes very little sense when publishers are openly content with releasing unfinished titles. I still hope it turns out alright, I’ll be keeping an eye on it when it releases and also waiting for a sale if it looks good.
Hi ! Just found your channel through your video on Squadrons, and I quite like your video format ! Great works on those, I'll keep on watching your work :) Have a great day !
Yeah, it’s gotten pretty bad. It’s very disappointing cause I used to enjoy the old Ubisoft games, but now I can’t even get excited for a Star Wars one.
I'll tell you how it came to this. They have a generic RPG template game pre-made. It had no Star Wars related elements inside it, but it is the foundation for all their recent RPG games. They just applied a Star Wars skin pack on it. Implementing lightsabers must have been too much of a hassle, because their template wasn't designed to interact with the characters using that kind of weapon. So, they decided to make the story about the outlaws, the Han Solos and the Chewbaccas of the Star Wars universe and call it a day. Can they spell "lazy", I wonder?
@@BurnoutJack Worse part is, I figured all this out just based on early reviews of their recent games. Their games somehow all look... the same. Similar mechanics and execution. What really gave it away was the lack of lightsabers. Even if the main character is an outlaw, in a Star Wars game, you should be able to cross path with a force user with a lightsaber. Either a Jedi or a Sith. In fact, I'd make it a major part of the story. Running from an invincible super soldier with a unstoppable weapon might have added some much needed complexity. It could have resembled the Dahaka chases from Prince of Persia Warrior Within. Thing is, if there were any force users in this, they would have already added them to the cover art. But they haven't. I find it ironic that you could build your own toy lightsaber in a Star Wars themed park in Disney Land, but not in the latest video game.
Most people don’t know this, but Tencent, a Chinese gaming conglomerate owns about 15% of Ubisoft. It doesn’t sound like a lot, but that means they have a large say in how Ubisoft monetises and releases their games. The greed isn’t just internal, but external too

I recently purchased the Division 2 expansion Warlords of New York for a very low price ($4.99?) and have been enjoying it. The detail the developers pour into lower New York and Washington D.C. for that matter is amazing! Then I see the footage from Outlaws and it totally disheartens me. I want to play this game but I will not pre-order and I will not buy on day one. I will wait for channels like this to play and review Outlaws and give me their honest opinions.
