Just ran huge, I was their. Alot of excitement that day. A horse with a very modest pedigree just smashed the blue bloods. B. Wayne Hughes, your a great sportsman, a gentleman. Beholder had a lot left to give to this great game, just ask Songbird.
Chrome reminds me of my favorite "SEATTLE SLEW....goes to the lead and runs as far and fast as he can.....and if need be has those after burners in the stretch ....Chrome has got to have some of Slews blood running thru him...!!! or he is Seattle Slew reborn..!!
Victor Espinoza is a great jockey, Hall of Fame worthy, but he's got one bad habit, it's noticeable. He eases up his horse right before the wire sometimes, did it with AP, as well.
Yes absolutely 100% and it cost him big against Arrogate in the Breeders Cup. He had no business losing that race he was way ahead with plenty of speed and gas left in the tank.
Kevin Michael Just seeing this You Tube...and your comment...today. 8/20/20 I will ALWAYS believe it was Espinoza's ride that most cost CC the Triple Crown.
:Lets see who is the better horse by looking at the record: Chrome: 60% win spec, 4 times not in the money Beholder: 76% win spec, 4th one time Pacific Coast Classic: 2016: Chrome, in 2:00.4 Good time 2015: Beholder in 1:59.7 Better time
She sat behind a ridiculous pace last year and beat Catch A Flight and Red Vine. This years P.C. is going to be rated higher than last years. Beholder is a great Mare, the best in training, but she will not face Chrome again. Or the boys again this year. Also the lofty record of hers was earned beating up on Melanistic.
3to5andglassy This year's pace in the beginning was very fast in the begining, but slowed down towards the end. I could see Beholder was not going to catch CC, tho she tried. The slower pace last year did not stop Beholder from finishing under two minutes!! Last year, she also ran against Bayern, who has beaten CC and many other horses. I guess I don't like CC because of his stupid owner who made a fool out of himself at the Belmont, crying.... On any given day, any horse can beat any horse. I really believe that.....
The pace last year was fast. 22;, 45, 1:09, 1:35, 1:59. She raced against top horses, stakes winners, Bayern, Hopportunity, Midnight Storm, and Imperative. Get your facts straight.
What the hell do you think I said? I'm not going to educate you on horse racing beyond the fact, that when a quality horse sits behind a very fast, ridiculous pace, they are supposed to win and the times are generally faster than they would normally run. Imperative hasn't won in 2 years, Bayern had one foot in the breeding shed. He was not even close to be the stakes winning horse he had been. Midnight Storm is a grass horse. Hoppertunity is definitely a hardknocking classy individual, he is well behind the top 3, though. I'm not knocking Beholder, but I will debate you on the quality of the field last year, compared to this years field. Beholder ran her last half mile of last years Pacific Classic in 49.79 and she got a deck set-up. Chrome never ran a 1/4 split during the race over 24 and thats after setting the opening panel in 23. He came home in 48 in a canter. I always have my facts straight. Its great to be passionate about Beholder, but she is not ever going to beat Chrome. Stop trying to compare times. Its race shape. She got a set-up last year and won like any class horse should.
3to5andglassy CC ran against many of the same horses Beholder did last year. The times shows she COULD beat CC, just didn't do it that day.CC is just luck Shared Belief is not around anymore, RIP. If he is such a great h orse, why doesn't he bear weight, like the great ones? 124, pooh! Any horse with a 60% win record, I wouldn't call GREAT.....
CC is just SO FINE! Enjoyed seeing the race start from another camera angle --- Victor remains a consummate "driver". Congrats Team Chrome!
Very impressive race! Chrome winning huge! He always gets the job done and shows who's the boss when he is on the track! Congratulations Chrome! 👍

Handsome boy❤
He was sweating so bad, Alan Sherman hand left a hand print in Chrome's quarters @ the end of the video.
Es como ver correr a Secretary
I pray they retire Beholder, she deserves a break.

Beautiful horses they sure are
But no one looks at when the horses walk up to the track in how much pain they're in 😔
