Kate manages to convey such vulnerability and toughness at the same time. Of the whole cast, she has such a layered presence that makes you believe she could be feeling many things at once. It’s so mesmerizing. ❤

I might be the only one, but I really didn't mind the 6th season of the original L word. Putting aside the whole murder mystery thing, I enjoyed the characters story lines! (Except for Shane and Jenny's relationship...that was weird 😂)
I have not watched it yet but thanks for telling me they were going to be in a relationship!
It wasn’t my favorite season by far and had an unusual vibe but I still loved the 6th season.

I liked the idea of the L word, and obviously it was hot, but I think it portrayed lesbians as people who were completely unable to maintain healthy relationships. I get that it was sort of a soap opera format, but it would have had a more positive impact on society, if at least some of the couples were in stable monogamous relationships and maintained boundaries between friends and lovers. When I first saw this show I was finding myself and frankly it scared me and put me off trying to connect with the lesbian community. I wanted ONE lover and a relationship, I did not want to be involved if all that was available was a steady stream of “ships in the night”.
Bette and Tina were a very interesting couple to explore long term relationship, commitment and boundaries. Dana was layers of "I just want to be able to fit in and secure stability", having a difficult time connecting with herself and significant others. Also, J's straight couple was a pretty efficient counter example of the unsaid drama outside of the "community" you described. BTW let's keep in mind that these are groups of poeple gravitating in LA/Hollywood/Artsy/Sports celebraty entourage. As a teen in the 2000's/2010's, you may discover the L Word and have it as one of your core references but it was not pretending to be a typical portrayal of the everyday - queer - woman. I hope you could overcome the fear, and turn it to your advantage.
I’ll still never forgive Shane for leaving Carmen but Kate is still so amazing
I was actually pleasantly surprised how Gen. Q was really f*cking good. The writing & the acting was superb. The episodes flowed so effortlessly. Btw Dani is hot af.
I think some of the new characters come off as very cartoonish like Finnley and Sophie (at times). But I was also surprised that it was good. I was hesitant to watch it at first because I love the original and hoped they didn't mess it up.

I definitely miss some the original cast and although I could not stand Jenny towards then end of The L Word, I wish she was still alive and Mia Kirshner could be back! I still love Generation Q and I am glad we have 3 of the originals, especially Katherine Moennig!!! We need more screen time for Shane (and Quiara) though :)
just finished watching the 1st season of generation Q, and at first I didn't want to watch it because I was scared it would kinda destroy the original, but honestly I really liked it, I enjoyed watching it and I can't wait for season 2 ! I'm so happy to see Alice, Shane and Bette back ❤️
