Hearing this, I could swear Daisuke has a message to some of the players. If you like up some of the songs together it creates an overall message. To me it'd be 1.Necessary Discrepancy. 2. Symphony 3. Armor Clad Faith 4. Play the Hero. Line those up, and it creates a message to the NEET and hikikomori types. Which is something like "Go out, it can be painful, but to not is the same as death. Don't be hung up on conforming, and fight for yourself. Have faith, and try to help others."
its not really about neets specifically, like half of the soundtrack is about the whole cast feeling like a bunch of misfits and trying to find their place in the world. The entire theme of the game is characters striving towards something, whether to leave a path for others to follow, to build a better life for themselves, or to just make a difference. Plenty of people from all walks of life will find a way for this message to apply to them, the reason it works so well is the music explores the same general topic from many perspectives.
"Respect Loyalty Responsibility forges the armor Liberty Curiosity Compassion and Affection words weave a stealthy chain" this part of the lyrics went so hard in my opinion
@@dragonliIIyin an interview, Daisuke said she changed her hair because she discovered fashion. (Would like to add I honestly prefer the oxidation theory over the canon explanation, I love when writers geek out about things like science)
@@dragonliIIyNah devs directly debunked this in an interview with Rooflemonger. They thought it was a neat theory but the truth is simply ABA was experimenting with hair dyes now.
@@Elementroarwait I thought the oxidation “theory” was clearly just a joke, but I don’t know much about ABA. Is she really weird enough that “her hair was copper-based and now it’s got a patina” was a possible explanation?
It's a lot less obvious than Mariah and Amazing Grace in Extras, but the "Creepiness" bit of the chorus is musically quoting "Poison" by Bell Biv DeVoe, which is fittingly a song warning someone about a girl with a bunch of red flags, which... **Gestures at ABA** Also, I feel like not enough people are appreciating the wordplay of "Quirk-*key* note in the symphony."
Also wanna add that "i'm not here to fit in this world", Like a key that can't fit into a lock properly. And the "Break out, Break out" is relevant because she was locked up in a laboratory for like a decade. This whole song is just key analogies, I swear to god.
I really like this song, I like the distinction between more standard common virtues and the more traditionally negative ones claimed by the singer (presumably A.B.A and/or Paracelsus), which as time goes on both seem to come together towards the end with love becoming a maze as well. This song is both hope for one's ability to change and find connections to others, as well as a denial of conventional understandings of what one should be, and I think it's quite interesting. Even the commonly mentioned "blah-blah-blah"s are fun as they initially seem to be the incomprehensible expectations enforced on people, but towards the end as the singer and their companion join together they instead "shout" and form their own expectations for themselves. In that sense this song is not a rejection of boundaries, but instead a declaration of working together to create ones that actually relate to the subjects, and function on behalf of the involved parties
@@squill4883 He absolutely does. It’s well documented that Daisuke loves American Classic Rock and it’s referenced all over the place in Guilty Gear, both in the music and in many other things. Fun example, Sol Badguy, our main series protagonist, is actually named Frederick Bulsara. Sol Badguy was an alias he gave himself after becoming a Gear, referencing the title he had been branded with “The Corrupted Sun”. Frederick Bulsara is a reference to Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of the rock band Queen, which is Daisuke’s favorite band. Freddie Mercury was a stage name, his birth name was Farrokh Bulsara, so Daisuke merged his birth name and stage name into one for Sol. In fact there’s Queen musical references all throughout the Strive Soundtrack. Drift, Happy Chaos’s theme, literally has a break in it that sounds like Bohemian Rhapsody.
@@ArmigusArsenal three things: 1: a small gripe, but it’s called the Flame of Corruption, not the Sun. 2: Axl Low is (rather blatantly) based off Axl Rose, the frontman for Guns ‘N’ Roses. 3: my dad mistook the song Freesia from GGXrd for an actual Queen song.
@@addison_v_ertisement1678Okay, i've seen you do nothing but complain in everyone's fucking comments. Besides, it's actually a bit smarter than that due to all of the allusions to keys and freedom. "I'm not here to fit in this world" is a double entendre for a key that can't fit in a lock correctly. The song is full of these.
The "I'm not here to fit in this world" at later parts like around the 5:00 mark sounds like Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall part on "we don't need your education". Cannot be an accident
This is probably gonna sound corny as fuck but whatever , I love this song so much I've been listening to it on repeat for months now and almost each time I get really emotional listening to it , something about the line "I'm not here to fit in this world , I'm just here to make a difference" really clicked with me and I honestly have no idea how to describe why , so yeah I teared up to a song containing the lyrics "blah blah blah" and now it sounds so silly
What I take from this song is... A.B.A is without a shadow of a doubt, completely and totally with no chance, desire or recognition... for being fixed................. good. "I am no here to fit in this world" the... sincerity of this statement is refreshing and inspiring in a way, don't know if A.B.A was ever "normal" in any point of her life, but if the GGST theme songs are the characters most deep and honest opinions and feelings... A.B.A has no desire to be "normal", she is perfectly and sincerily happy being herself. But at the same time... the rest of the song "hints" at a much bigger desire inside her, a desire to influence and affect the "world" around her.
Waited for this to be added on the GG playlist. And I'm glad a lot of people love the last line of the song. "I'm not here to fit in this world. I just want to make a difference."
This song is so incredibly written for something that just plays in the background of a fighting game. I love how this song is basically her justifying her insanity and in the process “making” us just as insane as she is. The song literally throws the dictionary out the window and says that what it said is irrelevant because all that matters is that you think you’re making a difference in the world, and whatever that difference is, is just a note in a symphony, and variation in what those differences are is what makes life beautiful.
This is quite possibly the closest to perfect a character theme can get in Strive. It is genuinely almost perfect. The entire track is the perfect balance of emotion, intensity and need I mention the ending? I don’t think you could make a more perfect ending to a song if you tried. I don’t think the devs will ever be able to top this.
4:35 this is sounds exactly like a mental breakdown feels like. Depression, confusion, frustration and anger all coming together until the only thing left is raw unfiltered emotion ripping away inside you trying to break out
This is the most relatable song in Strive to me, which is saying something. God Daisuke is a genius, how the fuck does this shit come out of that man's brain?
Everyone praises Daisuke's guitar skills. But can we also talk about how that amazing that drummer is? Especially at the beginning of the song before the lyrics play? That fast drumming give the guitar a lot more BOOM, and it sounds badass.

If you like up some of the songs together it creates an overall message.
To me it'd be
1.Necessary Discrepancy.
2. Symphony
3. Armor Clad Faith
4. Play the Hero.
Line those up, and it creates a message to the NEET and hikikomori types. Which is something like "Go out, it can be painful, but to not is the same as death. Don't be hung up on conforming, and fight for yourself. Have faith, and try to help others."
THIS is Daisuke's Vision
Underrated comment
its not really about neets specifically, like half of the soundtrack is about the whole cast feeling like a bunch of misfits and trying to find their place in the world. The entire theme of the game is characters striving towards something, whether to leave a path for others to follow, to build a better life for themselves, or to just make a difference.
Plenty of people from all walks of life will find a way for this message to apply to them, the reason it works so well is the music explores the same general topic from many perspectives.

@@dragonliIIyin an interview, Daisuke said she changed her hair because she discovered fashion. (Would like to add I honestly prefer the oxidation theory over the canon explanation, I love when writers geek out about things like science)
@@CyrusCentralfictionodd coincidence
**Gestures at ABA**
Also, I feel like not enough people are appreciating the wordplay of "Quirk-*key* note in the symphony."
Oh dang you’re right
Also wanna add that "i'm not here to fit in this world", Like a key that can't fit into a lock properly. And the "Break out, Break out" is relevant because she was locked up in a laboratory for like a decade. This whole song is just key analogies, I swear to god.

Mfs who don't get the song: "he's just going blah-blah-blah? This is dumb.."
Mfs who get the song: "I look at life as words and blahs."
An excellent breakdown. I love this interpretation of this song since it's kinda what I had gathered from it.
Love your interpretation :)
A.B.A is not just another brick in the wall!!!
I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed lol, I wonder if Daisuke puts these references like the ones in elphelts theme in on purpose
Yeah, she’s the brick that gets thrown at you.
YES. @@squill4883
@@ArmigusArsenal three things:
1: a small gripe, but it’s called the Flame of Corruption, not the Sun.
2: Axl Low is (rather blatantly) based off Axl Rose, the frontman for Guns ‘N’ Roses.
3: my dad mistook the song Freesia from GGXrd for an actual Queen song.

3:20 i really love how it sounds like wedding bells here
It reminds me of her old theme from GG xx
@@ds8765 I believe it's part of her original theme! Pretty cool.
“I’m not here to fit in this world, I just want to make a difference.” I knew I clicked on this song for a reason.

Also, Jesus woman, get some sleep! Your eye bags are worse than mine!
Im interested. What allusions to alchemical concepts are in her design?
@@preceptorseluvis5704 admittedly, most all of my knowledge of alchemy comes from watching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. A.B.A herself is a homunculus, a being created artificially through alchemy. The name “Hohenheim” is written on one of her sleeves, referencing a major figure in the history of alchemy. Furthermore, Paracelsus is the name of a French alchemist from the early 1500’s.
“I’m just a quirky note in the symphony” might be one of the best phrases I’ve ever heard.
