I can't believe that it's revealed Katniss has a genetic mutation that allows her to shape-shift into other people, which causes Snow to hire Trask to create giant robots to kill her and all the rest of the mutants.
I wonder how many people will actually believe you after reading this
Reuben Chandler-Wall It's called X-Men: Days of Future Past and it is cool.
Reuben Chandler-Wall How about: X Games: Jays of Peeta's Ass...?
Ya it was a weird twist.
WHY DID YOU SPOIL IT FOR ME?!
Can't believe Johanna kills Peeta in the end and Snow and Coin get married. :/
You read the books too?
ahaha troll
awww...you went and spoiled it. Lol
My favourite part is still when Buttercup becomes the new Mockingjay. That was one emotional chapter!
acjub Yes!!! To be honest, I preferred Buttercup as the Mockingjay than Katniss.
Jeremy when you said Snow doesn't want to kill her, just wants to fuck with her this is all I could think of:
Snow: "I know the truth, there's no going back. You've changed things, forever
Katniss: "Then why do you wanna kill me?"
Snow: "Haha! I don't, I don't wanna kill you! What would I do without you! Go back to ripping of the districts? No, no, NO, no you... complete ME!"
Hahaha right.
Hahaha YES!!!!
THAT WAS PERFECT! Lol that was genius man
***** he said, "moves and countermoves" because Plutarch said that's how to defeat her and he knows Plutarch is using the same philosophy for this.
This comment is at a level of perfect that has not been discovered by mankind
I really think they should reboot Percy Jackson, cast & write them appropriately, & give them another shot. They changed things so unnecessarily in those movies that i think, if done as well as Harry Potter, can be the next Harry Potter, & NO THEY'RE NOT THE SAME! Harry Potter mixes a lot of mythologies to serve the story, while Percy Jackson focuses on Greek &, eventually, Roman mythology when it goes into Heroes of Olympus. So, yeah.
Percy is Harry, his Satryer friend is Ron, Annabelle is Hermine, his satryer mentor is Hagrid, Camp Half-Blood is Hogwarts, the demi-gods are wizards, evil kid that becomes good in the end is in both, and the team system is in both. They both even have their own unique game. It's more similar than you think.
They have similarities, but they have just as many differences as well.
Elaborate.
The quests, enemies, plots, characterizations of the characters, to name a few things.
Strider119119 The first one might have a lot of the same characters but the plots are very different especially in Heroes of Olympus.
However I really just want to see how the movies play Nico, like how badly can they screw this one up.
Regarding your point about Snow killing Katniss, Snow and Plutarch (Philip Seymour Hoffman) have a conversation in the previous movie where they say that they can't kill Katniss, because that would only turn her into a martyr, and make the rebellion even worse. Although, to come to think of it, now that Snow knows that Plutarch was double-crossing him, not sure why Snow is still listening to Plutarch's advice...
It still was true. Hell it's so true that.....well.....spoilers XD
Jonatas Silva hhhhhh what do u mean i read the books i just dont understand what u mean
***** That SPOILER,the martyr part. so much so that Coins actually tries
Jonatas Silva ohhh that :P
Skulduggery Pleasant.
Different enough from Harry Potter to be part of the "Teen wizard genre" and still be its own franchise, with a blend of comedy and dark elements that a lot of these other books don't have.
Oh, and The character of Skulduggery is just awesome.
OH MY GOD I AM A BIG FAN OF THAT SERIES!!! I HAVE ALL THE BOOKS AND EVEN GOT TWO SIGNED BY DEREK LANDY WHEN HE VISITED SYDNEY AND I JUST *SOBS*
I STILL HAVEN'T FINISHED READING THE LAST FEW BOOKS CAUSE UNI GOT IN THE WAY, AND ALSO OMG THE HEROES OF OLYMPUS SERIES, I WANT TO FINISH THAT TOO BUT I KEEP PROCRASTINATING DAMMIT URGHHHHH
*CRIES IN CORNER*
I second this. Skulduggery Pleasant is awesome and needs more love.
Yes, yes one million times yes
I agree as well. would love to see ether James Gunn (GOTG) or Deltoro (Hellboy, pans labyrinth, pacific rim) direct it.
The amount of sass in a skulduggery movie would be indescribable
Eragon. No it was never a movie, I don't know what you're talking about. No movie was ever made for that glorious book series and it should be.
There was defiantly a movie
Dustin Horn Wrong never happened
It was terrible... No dwarves and they never even mention that Arya is an elf of elves in general. So many things wrong with it.
I don't know what glorious book series you're talking about. I think the movie did the first book justice.
Ferrohazard How? I don't understand how anyone can say that. Even if you are one of the people who say the books were cliche ad such, the movie was still complete trash.
The ending peeta scenes with him choking katniss and them him flailing and going nuts, no other movie has ever evoked emotions in me like that did. Also I loved the scene where all the people are marching to the dam singing the hanging tree song. That was so beautiful.
I wasn't a big fan of the last book, but the movies have been going well so far, and I love knowing the plot points, so I can look around the theater and see people's reactions.
Is the movie a lot better than the book at the moment then? I personally really enjoyed the series but thought the last book was a little disappointing.
savangray The last book was very poorly written even if the story was good. I think that brought it down for many people and thankfully the movies are fixing the poor writing quality.
***** SPOILER ALERT!!
totally agree... the second half of the book was terrible... No to mention completely irrelevant! She goes and gets all her team killed for no reason! even the sister that wasnt even on the front lines gets to snow before her! what difference did she make? none! I hope they deviate from the source material on the movie...
Arezoo Kashefipour
Poor writing quality? Remember the book is written from the perspective of a person who is dealing with PTSD (Katniss). A person who suffers from PTSD becomes disjointed with reality, time jumps around, slow to fast, fast to slow. Because the book is written from Katniss' perspective, we only see, what she sees, hear what she hears, feel what she feels and thinks what Katniss thinks. YOU ARE KATNISS. So when you're confused about a given part, that's because Katniss is confused. Suzanne Collins wanted the reader to be Katniss and feel the affects of war and death, just like Katniss felt it.
Example *SPOILER* Finnick's death. Rather quick and almost didn't even realize it happened. To put it into realistic forms, imagine you and your best friend are ARMY soldiers arriving on the beaches of Normandy on June 6th, 1944, your fighting Nazi forces, killing everyone in sight. You turn around and you see your friend get blown up. You can't stop and mourn his loss, you have to turn around and keep moving forward and try to survive. It's not till later, when you can stop and think about everything that happened (Katniss' breakdown to Buttercup, "PRIM IS DEAD, she's dead")
The writing quality was reminiscent of Ernest Hemingway's story "Soldier's Home", about a soldier returning from war, coming home to a world that has moved on without him. The story is similarly written from his perspective. The soldier is also dealing with PTSD, because of this, the reality of the soldier's world is off-kilter and the writing gets a little "poor", but when you realize who you're reading, who you're supposed to be, you realize why it was written that way. Remember parts of "The Hunger Games" series, certain sentences are grammatically incorrect. When I first read it, I kept thinking, why is Katniss saying "me and Gale", that's improper grammar, then it clicked, oh yeah, we're reading from Katniss' voice, from Katniss' perspective... Don't forget that while you're reading.
ERAUPRCWA you make some good points
The Cirque Du Freak series by Darren Shan and also the Demonata series by Darren Shan should have movie adaptations. You say there was already a movie on Cirque Du Freak? No there wasn't ......there wasn't .....
i know, that book series deserves a movie series! that and pendragon.
That Circe du freak movie was awful and the book was so good they missed so much stuff out
lewis powell what movie?
lewis powell There was no movie, it does not exist....there is no such thing as a Cique Du Freak movie yet.
I always thought it would make a great TV show.
I like watching Jeremy's videos and pausing them at random times. Always brightens my day with gut busting laughter.
So is this the part where I say once more:
"The Books. Don't. F***ing. Matter!" ?
Well if so, then it would be soooo worth the year long wait... xD
Great! Now just wait another year and you can say it again... ;P
and yet it followed the books really well, so okay.
***** True but people always find something to say about 'this is explained in the book' :P
josh11735 Well yeah, that comes with taking a book and making it a film, mostly with big books like lotr and harry potter or books written in the first person like Hunger Games or Divergant. However for those of us who have read those books, we do like to talk about things that were to hard to put on film (or were to long) that would explain those things the movie could not explain. So in the end, yes I agree that a movie should explain like there is no book, sadly some of the most important scenes, can't be explained with out slowing the pace of the movie.
***** Agreed
I thought this movie was really unnecessary to be split into two parts, they could've trimmed out about 40 minutes of this movie, and have the rest of the events in the book. I don't care if the movies 2 and a half hours long, I'll watch it. Catching Fire was a lot better than this movie.
I kind of agree, but if you think about all that's going to happen in the 2nd part, it was good they got some of this stuff out of the way. They're still going to have to show taking District 2 with the Nut and everything (which should be epic to see), Finnick and Annie's wedding, Katniss and Johanna training, their mission and everything in the Capital, the trial, what happens to Snow and Coin. Plus the epilogue. A lot of things seemed skimmed over in the book, some because it's from Katniss' pov, but they really have a lot they can flesh out and show more of for the movie.
If mockingjay wasnt split into two parts it would be horrible. There is so many things that happen in Mockingjay so they would have to take out or skim past a lot of stuff to fit it into a 2/3 hour movie. I think the first hunger games would have been a lot better as two parts
If Mockingjay weren't split into two movies, in order to maintain the same storyline, you'd sit through a 6 hour movie in theaters?
ERAUPRCWA Well I can see if they put it into one movie that it would be 3 hours.
Mr. GMAN's Channel
But part 1 was 2 hours and 3 minutes long. A 3 hour movie would definitely cut out a lot of material. Important material, then people would complain even more.
I'm probably gonna get bombarded with hate for saying this, but...I did enjoy this film more than Interstellar. That's not to say that I dislike Interstellar though, oh no, it was a great film.
Who thinks interstellar was better then the freaking Hunger Games?!
Nick Clark everyone that isn't a teenage girl.
ham bone But, I'mma guy...
ham bone Have you actually watched the films? It's no Twilight, that's for sure.
***** yes i watched the first one and I thought it was like a 5/10, and i also tried to read the book, but it was just so damn boring. Sorry but I'm not a fan of petty teenage love triangles. Also I thought interstellar was at least a 8/10.
The movie was excellent! It changed what it needed to keep the flow going and added some scenes of the rebellion, which made the story *so* much better. The march of District 5 on the dam was fucking gorgeous.
My God, that scene. I literally got chills watching it. Jennifer Lawrence's modest singing voice is joined by a choir and a crowd of people is shown marching to it like a war chant. Absolutely stunning.
If that's the kind of film-making rolled out for the first installment. I can't wait to see what's in store for the second movie.
YES I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL AGAIN. And I loved it when they all climbed up the trees.
The Darth Bane trilogy, hard core done with 18+ content. No kid friendly stuff. Would be awesome but probably never gonna happen since no star wars movie has been as dark as I want that trilogy to be ^^
All those Star Wars books are no longer canon anymore.
true :/
Scott Charles The Darth Bane ones are from before the prequel trilogy, so I think they might actually still be cannon.
WoW a R rated Star Wars that would but awesome, but unfortunately Disney would NEVER let happen
Could work as a hbo series
there's a Norwegian bookseries that's called "Isfolket"(the People of Ice) its like 47 short books, or something like that. It's pretty damn awesome, but I think it would do better as a tv-series in the same style as GoT. Nordic, trolls, witchcraft, angels and all kinds of awesome shit.
LOL I'm Norwegian and I have barely heard of it.
StryderMelanie
Yeah, totally. And since they have a span over 40 generations or something, it's alot to cover in a movie or a trilogy. But they should make a tv-show out of those books, it would be like Game of Thrones, but with Scandinavian history, real events and a bunch of nordic folklore and stuff. Plus all the nudity ;)
TheCoolestBaka
Then you've missed out on something! I'm from Sweden, so I've read them because of my mum, she read them when she was around my age. I'm actually named after one of the characters in the book, Marco.
***** I will check them out, after I've read A Dance With Dragons and a couple of other books :)
TheCoolestBaka Yah man, do that! They're some what pornographic in the first couple of books, but they get better. Just stay strong and have faith!
The Tapestry series by Henry H Neff. A little been-there-done-that, because in many ways it's a Harry Potter / Lord of the Rings / Percy Jackson hybrid, but that's part of the appeal. The series combines some of the best aspects of all three, with a lot of depth.
The Infernal Devices, The Lunar Chronicles, The Darkest Minds series, and Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell would all be fantastic as movies
Oh and the Throne of Glass series
I like the way you think my boy. I think Eleanor and Park is becoming a movie, and i read that the rights to the Lunar Chronicles have been sold :)
I think throne of glass would be better as a TV show, but again they would have to do it well
Answering the question: Eragon deserves a good movie adaptation, Lord of the Ring kind of thing. There's everything we like about medieval fantasy, plus dragons, plus strong female characters, and a cool way to deal with magic.
Ikr if they actually had a good budget and director it would make an actually really good movie. Also it would be cool if Saphira DIDN'T HAVE FEATHERS.
The story was pretty clichéd tho
I agree. It's not exactly the most original story in the world but it would make a good movie IMO
I feel like if Eragon was to be adapted well it would have to be a tv series. The books are simply too long to make a good movie out of
Percy Jackson. Done the RIGHT way. Not any of this Sea of Monsters/The Lightning Thief crap. If done right, I think Percy Jackson could be a series that could possibly rival Harry Potter.
I LOVED the scene where they blew up the dam. How they were singing all the way through it. Whenever the movie would do that, when it would show scenes of the rebellion in the different districts, i just loved it.
World War Z the way it was meant to be. But maybe not even a movie. More like an HBO or Showtime Mini series. In fact it would be even cooler if it was filmed like a faux documentary. With a "reenactment" of the events of the war and then showing the people telling the stories being interviewed. But now a little older. God how cool that would be...
But I liked that movie...
Ben Veazey I haven't seen it and I'll admit it's probably better than I think. But it just wasn't the movie I waited for
roarshach13 Not to be rude, but how can you say that if you haven't seen it?
I'm not going to call the movie awful. I have absolutely no right to do so. I just don't want to see it because when the movie was announced what they were telling us it would be was not what we got. It's probably a decent movie in its own right. I just have no interest in it after the bait and switch that got pulled.
zedfan4598 Why? Because I have an opinion?
Good morning! This is quite early to upload. Great video!!! Congrats on all ur hardwork! U deserve all ur success and more! I feel u don't get told enough. Been watching u since the beginning n well I luv movies too n really enjoy ur enthusiasm:)
The movie was a "fine" adaptation of the "first half" of the book although there was no reason to DRAG this 300 page book into 4 hours of screen time, the great pace that catching Fire had completely died and this movie only picked up in the last 20 minutes when you actually felt SOMETHING was going instead of 2 minutes of propos and 10 minutes of wandering around... now EVERY FRANCHISE has to do this split half thing, i mean at least Harry Potter had an over 700 page book tp justify a split, the first part 1 wasn't perfect either but it was much better than this.
Well to be fair, Lionsgate wants to make money. Lots and lots of money
Don't watch it if you don't like how the split it. People will always find some reason to bitch about anything these days.
Kyle H The most generic and illogical response to someone explaining his opinion.
I actually felt the split in Harry Potter was absolutely justified. I loved the first part's anticlimatic calm-before-the-storm sort of feeling that built up to the great finale. A feeling they could never have achieved if the tried to cover the whole book in one movie. Also it had a proper arc of suspense and didn't "just end" like it was the case with Mockingjay. Don't get me wrong, I liked Mockingjay, alot actually, but it certainly didn't need to be two movies.
This is the internet, Your not allowed your own opinion.
I'm sooo happy that Jeremy really likes the movie. :) I've read the hunger games trilogy and I am not disappointed. It's just how I imagines it would be. Especially at the part where Katniss said "Fire is catching and if we burn, you burn with us!" and I'm just sitting in the movie theater being like "hell it's AWESOME!"
It's so cool hearing him talking about this after reading the book
The Edge Chronicles would be fantastic, although expensive as shit as well. My favorite childhood novels!
Complete agree, that would be fantastic
Yes please.
I liked those books to. However I think the illustrations overshadow the story.
I want to see Eragon turned in to movies, but done right this time.
Lets just forget about that piece of shit they tried to pass of as an Eragon movie and give us a good one.
Jeremy, that bit at 02:50: that was pure gold, mate. It cracked me up!!!
Inc long post...
Agree with you Jeremy about Finnick's speech. I kept expecting them to switch to a voice-over of him talking while the rescue team was getting everyone out. They treated it as more of a distracting (which it was), but it's also a pretty important moment because we find out Finnick is not what he appears on the outside and also the true depths President Snow will stoop to. Katniss also realizes that she may have had the same fate if not for her and Peeta's love story, so it's another way Peeta saved her ass. I wish they had focused on it more instead of the rescue, which was really only a couple of lines in the book, but I understand they wanted some action for the movie.
Snow doesn't kill Katniss so as not to make her a martyr. They talk about this some in the 2nd one. He would rather turn the rebels against her, disable her, or completely break her, hence what he does to Peeta. You saw how she reacted when she realized her Mockingjay propos were causing Peeta more harm. If she dies, she's actually probably easier to rally behind (at least at first). He knows she's just a scared girl who just wants to protect those close to her so uses that against her.
And "evil mutant bee venom." lol.
Can we say comics, if so, then Batman By Scott Snyder.
If novels only, then Percy Jackson... The right way.
Katniss is a symbol, the face of the revolution, but as a soldier, she's expendable. Snow would probably find a way to have her killed, if he wanted to, but I don't think he does. Because killing Katniss would just make her a martyr and Snow doesn't want that.
As someone who have read the books:
BINGO!
"It's the things that we love most, that destroy us"
I read the Peter and the Starcatchers series when I was younger, and absolutely loved it! I think they would make great movies! The latest news is that Gary Ross (yes, of Hunger Games fame) might be directing an adaptation of it pretty soon, which may or may not be good. It also looks like it will be completely motion capture, like Tintin, which I also loved, but this series needs to be live action! They want to do it that way because they were concerned about the aging problem with some of the characters, but they also have the guy who did the special effects for Benjamin Button heading up the special effects as well! So, we'll see what happens!
The Old Kingdom Trilogy (Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen) by Garth Nix just plain needs to be a film series. (You can even make a prequel with Clariel if the series takes off!) The Parasol Protectorate by Gail Carriger would make a pretty great series too.
The Wheel of Time series, by Robert Jordan.
Granted, we're talking about FOURTEEN books here... with very complex world building, politics and so, SO many beloved characters. Think 'Game of Thrones', but with most of your favourite characters actually surviving. Hmmmm, perhaps it would work better as a TV series...?
Anyone else here a WoT series fan...?
Oh, and also... unlike Game of Thrones, the series is actually COMPLETE!!!!
It'd have to be a TV series, easy. With a director who respects the source material. I'm talking to the degree where the book is the script, else it'd be a watered down fantasy fest. Those are books for a lifetime though. Epic, inspiring, thrilling. I can go on. Glad to see a wot fan around here :-)
juckanin115
True. It would work as a TV series rather than a movie series. I am certain that if they can find a director who did GoT proper justice, then they can give the same treatment to WoT too... keeping the narrative, world and characters complex and epic, while also giving proper due to the special effects needed to show all the 'superpowers' that various characters display.
It makes me wonder me about how and why WoT still remains a relatively smaller niche audience with HP and GoT being such a huge, cultural phenomenon while . After all, you'd think that the success of both HP and GoT would mean that the worldwide audience would love WoT as well... WoT always kind of struck me as having the best of elements from those two fandoms.
Agreed. Universal has the rights to the books, Sanderson has approved of its transition to a screen. I am holding my breath. They've had the rights for a while. I dread the day that they start writing, because I feel these books. They're a part of my life. I can't say that about much else in terms of fictional material, whether it be TV show, movie, or book. I pray that it's done right if it's done at all.
I'd love to see a decent Eragon adaptation. That shitty one from 2006 should just be eradicated and we should get a new, better one that properly honours Paolini's books.
I KNOW, RIGHT!! I think it's the perfect time for another go at that book series (which was amazing by the way)... Maybe Francis Lawrence should do it lol... it could honestly be as good as The Hunger Games :)
yes!!! it was fucking horrible..couldnt even make a goddamn eldest after that piece of shit..half the people were missing and shit...gaah it rattles me
that book isn't that good anyway
ivan navi I'm not saying it's incredible writing, but I can tell you that I grew up reading the books, and, much like the Harry Potter novels, excellent storytelling rules over less-than-exceptional writing. I just feel like, as we have with Harry Potter, we should have a movie series that respectfully portrays the world and the books as a whole, rather than the quite literally shite adaptation from the mid 2000s.
The book is amazing, plot-wise and in terms of writing. And wasn't the guy like 18 when he wrote that shit? I'd like to see Ivan Navi write something like THAT at that age. :)
I love the scene when the lights go out in the entire capitol and Pres. Snow calmly walks to the window fully aware of what has just happen and all he says is in a whisper "moves and counter moves"
i love The tree climbing and the water dam scene. That was cool and you can also see how people would lay their lives for the mockingjay and the rebellion. Those scenes were powerful in their own ways.
I would like to see Percy Jackson... But this time actually make it the epic series it deserves to be.
Hey Jeremy! I'd like to see the inheritance cycle done as movies. Yes, I know they released an dragon film but they trashes the story!
It could be sooooo epic if they actually do it right.....one day
Eragon
Oh my gosh yes! I just said the same thing! That series would be amazing to see done well...the next Lord of the Rings for sure...and personally I think it could even be better as long as they put just as much effort into it.
Agreed!!!! I hope one day it gets done - next LOTR (or better!) indeed!
Such a good series but they ruined the movie...I can't wait for Paolini to write more!
They already made movies for them. It's called Star Wars.
JURASSIC WORLD TRAILER... Can't wait for you to talk about it, Jeremy!!
Great video. LOVE the look, Jeremy. Like a lot.
Somebody help me out here with a serious question: Katniss keeps on going on and on in both Catching Fire and Mocking Jay Part 1 about how Peta needs to be the one to live. My question is this: Why?
Don't get me wrong, I think Peta is an okay guy and I can relate to him on a certain level but I don't see why he is more important that anyone else who's lives maybe at risk. I mean I can see why Katniss cares about him more than everyone else (to a degree) but I don't see why WE and all the other characters should care about him more. It's not like he's the Chosen One or something.
If he were to die it would be sad just like it would be sad if any member of Katniss' friends or family were killed but would it stop the Revolution? No. Would it be the most heartbreaking death? I highly doubt it. The most heartbreaking hypothetical death would be Katniss' little sister, Prim, in my opinion. Thoughts?
I don't get it either but I haven't read the books. Honestly I don't care about Peta he is not very interesting to me.
Because in the first hunger games , peeta was trying to keep katniss alive ! But she thought he was a douche and even tried killing him with tracker jackers. And for the cameras she faked that she loves him but when peeta later founds out it was all an act ! Katniss feels very guilty. Also in the books , peeta was love in with katniss for a long time. And also the bonding moments in the whole victory tour , training centers and the games made their relationship even more.
emmanuel mathew I get all of that. I understand why he is important to Katniss. What I don't get is why everyone else should see him as "the one who needs to live." Other than the fact that Katniss loves him and keeping him alive will make her happy I don't see why they should care more about saving him than everyone else who needs saving.
The only moment where saving him seemed really crucial in the larger scheme of things is the fact that the Capital is using him as a political weapon.
savagenature1 In the books, Katniss is constantly noticing that Peeta is great with words and good at thinking on his feet in tight situations. For example in the first movie when he announces that he is in love with her, and in Catching Fire he announces the pregnancy, those were unscripted, and in CF when he decides to give a month of winnings to the District 11 families, also unscripted. Katniss is always noticing how Peeta is able to convince anyone to do anything because of his charisma. That's the reason why she keeps saying he should have been the one to lead the revolution.
Yep, this is the part that got lost in the previous movies. Peeta keeps Katniss alive in both Hunger Games by being extremely clever with his words and getting people to do certain things. Peeta's forte lies in words and dealing with people. I think in the movies he just comes off as love-sick boy, but in the book it was more ambiguous if he was really in love with her or not. It was more doubtful whether he genuinely liked her or whether he was manipulating her and everyone else to live. He has a way with words that Katniss doesn't. Which is why Coin, and Katniss herself, feels that Peeta would have been the better choice as the figurehead. He'd excel in the things required as a figurehead that Katniss has more difficulty with.
As for why people and Katniss care about Peeta? After everything Katniss and the world puts him through, Peeta still remains unquestionably selfless and good. Katniss finds this about him incredibly irritating because he's something she isn't. He's someone who isn't tainted; he's a representation of the good in humanity. But that's also what draws him to her. Katniss takes a significant comfort in what he represents. Which of course, means seeing him finally break is even more traumatic and tragic.
So yea, I don't think movie Peeta is a good representation of the character.
I want to see the Percy Jackson books turned into LEGIT movies. None of that corny kid crap that they're doing now. Jeremy, you should read those books, I swear its nothing like the movie!
You'd make a seriously scary dictator. I'm terrified of you after this video.
I'd likr to see the Skulduggery Pleasant movies. They're making the script already (maybe they've finished). But for years I've been waiting for the movies. And now I want it even more because I want to see Jeremy talk about them. Maybe just another year or so and we'll get the first one.
Honestly? Artemis Fowl. It would be interesting to see that
5 years later and he said that movie was really bad 😂 crazy
This comment did not age well
I would like to see a movie about Metro 2033
Loved the explosion haha
The book series that I want to see turned into movies (which they have already started) is the divergent series. I really hope they are able to make all three books. The series is a lot better than people gave it credit for when people first saw the trailer. I think the trailers pushed the romance a little too much. The movie made it subtle enough. In Divergent the romance is like the C story line. In Insurgent and Allegiant it's pushed up to like the B story line. It's a little more present but not to the point of annoyance
Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
It really would be nice if they made films of those books, wouldn't it?
JayMoney1987 it would be great! You know if they did it right.
JayMoney1987
if they made GOOD films of those books
Yeah. That's what we said
That would be so awesome! Maybe see the Olympians series too.
Spoilers. Peeta actually gets interesting. Gale however...
That's crazy!! I thought the same thing about finnicks monologue over the scene where they were breaking in! Ah... Like minds ;)
It was freakin incredible how they transformed Peeta; did they use prosthetics, makeup, or cgi or all of the above?
My favorite scene the peeta strangling katniss. Great scene.
Kinky bastard ;)
I want to see a movie of House of the Scorpion. It's a fucked up story about an opium king (like150 years from now and opium is legal) who *SPOILER ALERT!!!* uses uses genetic clones of himself to harvest their bodies and keep himself alive
I thought I was the only one to read that book! Such a good read.
Holy shit yeessss!
That part with the nuke...priceless!
It's already been said a couple of times, but I really hope Skulduggery Pleasant gets some good movie treatment. The books are so clever, so witty and so unique in the universe they create. With the right cast and right script, we could get some unforgettable movies.
I would put the "dick" in dictator xD ...I subscribed
The Demonata.
I can't wait to see pt. 2
The Ranger's Apprentice series could make one of the best movie series ever.
The relationships and character development between Halt, Will, Horace, Alice, and all the other characters in that universe is some next level Mass Effect shit, and you actually REALLY care for them.
If you haven't read the series I'd highly recommend it. It's written by John Flanagan, bout 12 books long, and takes place in medieval/fantasy times with some really kick ass battles and stuff. You also get to see Will go from age 15 to like 40, it's awesome.
The Enemy Series
Darren Shan Series
The Apprentice series
Two of which have been tried. One failed miserably, and the others trailer looks awful.
Which Darren Shan series were talking. The demontra or a remake of the cirque du freak series also add Tom Becker darkside book series as well
Stewart Meehan The latter. Cirque du freak.
Kk would still love to see the demontra book series as films as they would be great dark films as long as they followed the book series correctly as there are 10 books in the series
We need a good Cirque Du Freak movie and we need the Demonata series!
Gregor the Overlander.
A person who has seen The HG completely, but has seen The HG Catching Fire in a fast forward way i can't say if the HG Mockinjay is better than the second. I saw Mockingjay last night and i really dig it. I liked that there where no more annual Hunger games, but rebellion and propaganda instead. I liked the atmosphere of the movie and liked how they finished this part with all that Peta thing that he's so messed up right now. This part coulda been much more action and more paste, but overall 8/10. Can't wait for the finale conclusion.
Phillip Seymore Hoffmann character was actually using a LAMY 2000 fountain pen in both scenes where he's writing! Of course I would be the only person to notice this because I'm a fountain pen nut, but it was still a cool addition to his character.
The Percy Jackson movies. No no, I mean a GOOD Percy Jackson movie.
You were right about the raid scene. Finnick's narration was pretty chilling and it'd be totally badass when played over the scene rather than intercut. The scene was still tense af though :D
One of my favorite authors Neal Shusterman has 2 book trilogies one called Everlost: The Skinjacker Trilogy about two kids who die in the same car crash and are stuck in purgatory trying to get back. And Unwind which is about a future world where when kids turn into teenagers if they are too bad to handle their parents can sign them up to be "unwound" where every piece of their body will be removed and donated to other people who may need them. I would kill to have one of those made into really well done movies.
Bartimaeus Trilogy + prequel book !!!
That book is at the top of my list. I really want to see the witty djinny on a wide screen.
But I'm a bit unsure of how it would play on screen though, with all those footnotes and naration,
Your hair is just the best
That explosion though!
I really enjoyed that scene in the forest where they climbed up into the trees and it gets quiet. Then all you hear is *"If we burn, you burn with us"!* Then BOOM! They detonate those landmines on the Peacekeepers or whatever they're called.
Just gave me a little victory feeling you know, like, Good stuff guys...
The Wind on Fire series. Especially the first one. I'd love to see the army of children just marching and singing their song on the big screen that would be amazing.
Tamora Pierce the Circle of Magic books, OMG would be splintastic!
The Codex of Alera series by Jim Butcher.
He also has an awesome Wizard detective series called the Dresden Files, that would go well as a Game of Thrones style series, or and adult oriented animation like Afro Samurai
Legend Triology by Marie Lu, that series is amazing. Also the Eon duology by Alison Goodman, it's great and there's dragons. We need more dragons!
I thought the exact same thing when the Finnick monologue was happening. Was really glad it was in there too.
ARTEMIS FOWL. It's slowly happening at Disney, but I've been wanting this for 12 years.
I agree with every point you made in this video. I really tip my hat off to Josh Hutcherson because I think he really did so well in this movie and at time stole the show, when I saw his character deteriorating I really felt so emotional and I cried a few times.
Was expecting you to celebrate the valor of District 5 and 7, such as highlighting the parallel between the attack on the District 5 damn and the siege in The Return of the King, inverted.
Probably the "His Pale Assassin" book series by Robin LaFevers (idk how to spell her last name). It's a book series about assassins and murder and action and love and betrayal and I LOVE IT. That would be really cool.
I read a book series when I was in middle school called "the sea of trolls" I'd love to see that turned into a movie, just because it caught my imagination so much when I was younger.
His Dark Materials but done RIGHT! So that means straight from the off the first film would have to be called 'northern lights' instead of 'The Golden Compass'. Also the Wind on Fire trilogy, and the Bartimaeus Trilogy; although I think I'd prefer for them to be done as a tv series because tv is just a better way of adapting books than films, i feel.
if you remember Along Came Polly , PSH was actually hystericallllll in that role... he definitely had the ability to be the comic relief, he was just better in drama, great underrated actor RIP
The "Magician" trilogy by Raymond E Feist hands down the best fantasy novels ever read, even though it's super dense it's so fast paced and shit never stops happening. Though in saying that if they did adapt it they would have to split the movies or make a tv series
I would really love to see the Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu in movie form. It's such great source material to work from and it's really well written. There is also a lot of really cool, badass fighting scenes and plane fight scenes and it's just really epic. The action is high and I think it would make a great film.
The line 'chief from coocoo's nest him' made my dad.
God, this guy is awesome.
Huh. It pretty much ends where I thought it would. Can't wait to see it.
The Alchemyst series by Michael Scott. Absolutely love it and I heard that they actually might be turning it into a film.
The Author of the Hunger Games Trilogy (Suzanne Collins) has another series she did before the HG called the Underland Chronicles and I've been wanting to see a big screen adaption of that since about 4th grade
The Phineas Poe trilogy. It's my favorite book series ever. It's really fucked up, and it made me a little nauseous at times, so I recommend anyone who's into dark, gritty, depressing stories to check it out. If David Fincher directed an adaptation I would be so fucking happy.
Hmmmm...a series I'd like to see made into some films? The Gryphon Trilogy by Andre Norton (or just some cool combination of her Witch World novels), the Earthsea series by Ursula K. LeGuin (a made for t.v. movie was wretched), the Vorkosigan Saga by Lois McMaster Bujold, the Esmay Suiza novels by Elizabeth Moon.
Clive Barker's Abarat. It's literally the only teen(-ish) novel series I am really a fan of. Pretty esoteric, sure, but I bet the current technology can really bring the super-imaginative world to life onscreen, and with the right director (Hellboy/Pan's Labyrinth Del Toro would be the PERFECT candidate!), it can really get something awesome done!
The "Monster Hunter International" and/or "Grimnoir Chronicles" series' by Larry Correia. Great action packed stuff that would look awesome movie screened.
The Night Circus, damn that would be magical
I'd love to see another adaptation of Percy Jackson books. Throne of Glass has a rumored adaptation plans. School of Good and Evil series getting adapted. I'm pretty good on that end and can't wait. This movie was epic and we even got a choke scene!
The lightbringer saga by Brent Weeks. The story is in such a way you can't help but want to see it first hand.
