Václav adds: I have been playing the THYME for quite a while and has a certain instrumental quality that is quite hard to master - as with any other instrument... it really became one of the most essential pieces of musical gear that I use all the time. I am really proud of it being a real instrument now and not just a dream that I had more than 3 years ago! Thanks to the whole Bastl Instruments crew and the amazing support of our customers
Really liked your setup and performance. I have the Microgranny and I love it...just having some problems with transfering samples onto it (and yes i resample audio into mono at 8Bit 22kHz, and rename using 2 letters ..e,.g. AH.wav--but can't find them on the machine....anyway, the samples on there are cool and I have a lot of fun with them).
Not going to lie, this is the video that sold me on the Thyme (ok a little credit goes to Hainbach, but most of it is thanks to Václav). I'm waiting on mine to ship still, but I am definitely going to feature it on my channel in a longform demo and review. I can't wait!! =)
Wow...so cool "instrument". Now I definitly want to buy one. I have to look, if there's a shop in Switzerland who sells them, because I don't want to pay the high taxes... Keep on grooving ✌😎✌
I love my Thyme! This workflow is inspiring me. I've been challenging myself with relying on a loop pedal, and deciding whether or not I should use the Thyme direct or as a send/return. This makes soo much more sense. I get it now so thank you! I'll have to research the Dude. Is this just for sub mix or like an a/b box to send certain signals to the Thyme?
I have one question about it - can you make seamless, bpm-synced loops in good quality? more specifically, I wonder if you could use it to: loop a pattern from a drum machine (ie. Elektron Digitakt) > change from the dry input to thyme's loop > transform the loop > slowly bring in elements from the new pattern on the drum machine
I have been working at this destructive looping for days woth mixed results. I am having trouble getting consistent results. Any tips on getting consistent sounds from the Thyme?
I am busily saving for Thyme. I am slightly worried it is slightly more powerful than my limited knowledge. But I am someone who learns by getting my hands on stuff and playing.
awesome! the thyme looks too confusing for me, but you use it really well i love loop recording with only a few things, but i use the el capistan or timeline.
Thank you so much for putting out the videos that you have regarding the Thyme. I have been enthusiastic about this processor as soon as I heard about it and have now had mine for around 3 months. There is so much potential and exploring to do with this piece of gear that it can be intimidating to even decide what to do in experimentation. My greatest appreciation for your continued work. Will there be an extensive manual released through the website? I have found a page dedicated to this but nothing as far as a pdf downloadable. I will continue exploring on my own but wanted to take the opportunity to Express my gratitude for this beast of a creation.
[reads entire manual] Wow, I had no idea the device was this deep! So, I’m curious how you kept the basic beat going while mixing in other sounds that looped & decayed. Was that by using Freeze mode?
YOWza...............must have....... those B guys, what can you say but their just insane....musical yet F'd up....big music corp are you listening? Stop selling us the past...........

Beautiful.. Sometimes I feel like were are all in this boat learning modular and new instruments. But yes, making music is the best part!
Is there a reverse function on this? Or will you add it next?

I usually can't watch these kind of sessions all the way to the end without skipping or hitting next. This video made me do the unusual.

what do you think about thyme, now that you have had it for a year now?!
That was insane. I cant believe someone could get so skilled with that box... and only in 2 years. Wow!
I agree with what the piano says.

Respect. Quite a sound you've created here with a non-conventional setup. Well done.

I closed my eyes and opened my mind to robotic playhead operators.

Any chance of reissuing THYME in the future? I was so disappointed when only recently learning about it, and finding it is already discontinued.
