    I’d love to see your review on that Factor and a straightforward comparison to the SL8, lets see if they deliver on their claims and if indeed both bakes are in the same league

    Much better looking than the SL8. That’s all that really matters let’s face it.

    There are NO weight savings from Ostro V1 to V2. In fact the weight has gone up. The SL8 is significantly lighter than both the Ostro V1 and 2.

    • @cyberx7098
      @cyberx7098 7 місяців тому +1

      @CyclespeedTours Are you sure there is no weight savings from the Ostro V1 to V2? What does your Ostro VAM V1 Total Bike weigh? In Pedal Lane PH's video, they actually show the complete V2 bike built up with pedals in size 54cm is a Total of 6.88kg. | 15.16lbs. Are you saying your Ostro VAM V1 Total Bike weight is less with the same pedals? The V2 Frame & Fork might be heavier than the V1 but it seems the V2 Total bike weight is less than the V1 and that is probably mostly due to the new Black Inc. 48/58 wheels that supposedly only weight 1250gr. Also, the slight increase in weight of the V2 Frame & Fork is supposed to make the bike more snappy and gives it faster acceleration and better climbing because of the increase in frame/fork stiffness. So, lighter weight is not everything. In the end, it comes down to performance and you really need to ride the V2 to make a fair comparison to the V1.

    • @CyclespeedTours
      @CyclespeedTours 7 місяців тому

      @@cyberx7098 My Ostro V1 weighs exactly 6kg. It is meaningless to look at total bike weight because you can put on light wheels, saddle, etc. With 'normal' wheels the V2 is well over 7kg. The only way to compare is to look at the frameset weight. The V2 frame is 100g more than the V1 and V2 fork is also 100g more. Quite significant and well above what was announced. I find my V1 perfectly stiff enough but I am 65kg, FTP 280W.
      F=ma so extra weight will reduce acceleration. It is without a doubt that extra weight will cost you time on a climb, you only need to look at competition hill climb bikes to see that.
      No doubt the V2 will ride nicely and will be a fine bike, it's just not for me.

      @@cyberx7098 In Thailand we already test this new factor weight by their distributor, they are actually not lighter.

    • @cyberx7098
      @cyberx7098 7 місяців тому

      @@tittawatchotpakditrakul624 This is very frustrating and upsetting for people who like the Ostro VAM and want to support the Factor brand. According to CyclespeedTours, this is now the 2nd time that Factor has mislead consumers by advertising false weights of the VAM V1 and VAM V2 Frame & Fork which are not accurate. I can understand why people are mad now and might not want to spend money on the V2 when it is heavier and who knows what else Factor is not being truthful about regarding the "supposed" increase in performance and claimed better aerodynamics. Most of Factors claims about better aerodynamics on the V2 is measured at riding the VAM V2 at 48kph | 30mph. Who actually consistently rides their bike at 30mph?

    Nice to see the lower cost Ekar. I read a comment recently that Centaur 12 speed is coming as well, so if that's true it looks like Campag aren't abandoning the mid-tier altogether.

    Ostro VAM in Chrome White looks great, but another youtuber, Cycle Speed Tours, weighed a size 52 at their LBS, tipping the scales at:
    915 g - frame
    496 g - fork (steerer slightly cut)
    Arguably competitive, but not near SL8, and more than Factor's marketing. How much of this is due to the colourway remains to be seen, a carbon matte colourway obviously should be lighter.

    Bikes are not faster
    Cyclists are faster
    And the fact is that most buyers of these overpriced frail carbon frames made in China do not have the power output to make any significant changes in the general 15-20 mph they casually ride at . No know on Chinese carbon as they can lay it up about as good as anyone for the premium layups . If you want a flagship carbon bike get a Time RTM technology is light years beyond these supposed premium bike brands that are way over priced. And if you want the holy grail get a Litespeed or Moots TI
    My T1sl dwarfs all these premium carbon bikes including Time and I own a BMC slr01 slr03 and a Time Skylon and the T1 sl dwarfs them all across the board.

    Does anyone know if Factor fixed the rear Thru-Axel problem that exists on version 1 of the Ostro VAM? Also, there are lots of posts online about the bottom bracket creaking and the headset compression plug/steer tube problem. Hopefully all of these problems have been fixed on the 2024 Ostro VAM.

    • @cyberx7098
      @cyberx7098 7 місяців тому

      @@pantster9855 The compression plug problem was the result of a manufacturing defect in the design of the compression plug. It would not grip the inside of the steer tube properly and it kept loosing up which forced pro team mechanics to overtighten it. Since this video has come out, there have been lots of people saying there are still experiencing rear Thru-Axel problems and Front-End steering issues on this newly released 2024 Ostro VAM. There are several forum posts and UA-cam videos about this. This is very disappointing that these problems still exist on the new model.

      @@cyberx7098 incorrect about the steerer plug
      You’ve still not explained what the rear thru axle problem is. I can see 1 UA-cam video about the rear thru axle & all you do is pull the derailleur hanger back when installing & that’s it, it’s how their inserts are designed. Even the guy that made the video commented a couple of months later saying it’s no issue really!
      As for your comment that “lots of people still saying they are having rear thru axle and steering problems with the new bike” that’s pretty impressive considering barely anyone has one. WHERE are they saying this? Where are these “lots of people”?
