Good on you for trying to change your families diet. I admire you for doing that because there is a lot of learning involved. You have a lot going on with 9 kids and that means a lot of food. I've not watched your channel before, so after watching this, I'll watch some more of your videos. I do want to say one step at a time and give yourself some grace. ❤😊
Always enjoy your shopping videos. I too have started this health journey for my family the past couple of weeks. One step at a time. You are doing great
Good job with the haul and aiming to eat less processed foods/making things at home. It's great in the long term! But also, we can't be perfect, so don't be too hard on yourself, either. For frozen versus fresh fruit/veggies, the nutritional value is essentially the same--so if convenience is needed then go for it! Also, I appreciate that you show your thought processes and how to price compare for everyone to check to make sure they're getting the best deal. 🙌
It is more time, and effort to do things from scratch but it does save money. I am 69 with cancer and 5 kids and I cannot buy a lot of the things we like with prices the way they are. God bless you❤
I just wanted to say I noticed your message and have you in my prayers. I've just been through breast cancer on top of already pushing the limit as I've lived 12 more years than the two my lifelong specialists gave me 14 years ago at age 32. My mum passed away of stage four lung cancer 3 and a half years ago and 13 months after I found my Dad after he unexpectedly but peacefully passed away in his sleep. I never thought I'd be the last man standing but God gives us miracles. God bless you and your loved ones.❤😊
My son and I have been going more of the non processed foods. It's helped us out in the long run. Yes at times it's more expensive especially when we do organic and I know that alot of people caint afford organic. Alot of the time we caint either. It has also helped me and my health since we have almost completely cut out processed food. Don't get me wrong some processed food I will get but for the majority of the time we have been doing from scratch. U go girl. It is fun when u think about it when u cook from scratch and u know what ur family is actually eating. Keep up the good work with ur babies.
I love preparing our meals. Fresh veggies. I also do a lot of crock pot meals. I do freezer to crock pot meals, make the meals ahead of time then you can thaw the meal out the night before .
I love watching all your grocery hauls and look forward to them, especially your Aldi hauls. The Aldi hauls are my favorite. I hope you have one coming up soon.😊
❤ I don't want to be perfect I just want to be better.❤ That's beautiful. Everything in life is about balance. And being mindful of what you have access to. But no matter how healthy you eat it still comes down to moderation and portion control. As long as you're getting your recommended protein for your activity level, you're going to stay fuller longer, your consuming complex carbs, and reducing your added sugar. And listening to your medical physician, going to your medical check-ups. Prevention is key when it comes to maintaining health. Also, and reducing your stress.
@@mrsmommiecarrilloany change is better than no change! Being aware is the first step of changing! Do you have costco? We actually prefer Annie’s mac and cheese products to Kraft and they have better ingredients. We were able to just be aware of brands too. Great value products have SOO many additives versus regular brands.
@@mrsmommiecarrilloaldi has an organic mac n cheese thats really good too! And most aldi products dont have artificial colors. Whole foods is too expensive for our family.
That is awesome that you are starting to be more aware of what you are feeding your family. I can tell you some of the things that I do. We are a family of five. I make the waffles from scratch and freeze them. Pop them in the toaster or the microwave and they are so good. I also go to the local fruit stands when berries are in season and buy them in bulk and freeze them for all year. I make homemade cookie dough and freeze it in balls and then just take them out when I want to make cookies. You are right the change will not happen over night but you are doing so good.
Get yourself a bread maker or 2. You can have a loaf of bread in an hour. They also have guides to help you slice bread. Make a bunch of waffles and freeze your own. Also frozen foods are often healthier than fresh because they freeze them at peak nutrition.
Angus patties include other things. Sirloin is pure meat. Thus the price difference. Deffinitely check out t he Egg Farm your Husband mentioned. Check out the White Cheddar Cheese Blocks. Kraft Singles are processed cheese, not real cheese. Full of chemicals. The MM Yogurt Greek is clean. Not organic. Cheers to you on reading ingredients. Love the video.😊❤
Hi there!! Great shopping. I'm too cheap to buy hamburger patties or anything that comes already done for me, like boneless skinless, chopped up, because they just cost so much more. The last time I bought tyson wings something wasn't right with them so I haven't bought anymore. Sam's has the best chuck roast. I always get mine from them.
I would suggest substituting ground beef for turkey it's healthier cheaper and it doesn't taste too different. I have started using it for lasagna and spaghetti etc as well as turkey bacon instead of pork turkey is a dry meat so just make sure to add extra seasoning more than u would beef or pork
You must be reading my mind, I’ve been thinking about getting a bread maker too 🍞 and I’ve always been curious about homemade tortillas, that would be a cool tutorial 🌯
Try to pickup a couple bread machines used. Solo and Sarah at Our Tribe of Many ... She has lots of Videos on making dough in the machines and baking the dough in the oven. You don't have to watch your machines.
Hi. Just do what you can do, and everything else will fall into place. I wouldn't give up hotdos either. If I'm not mistaken, the Hebrew National brand doesn't have any preservatives, I could be wrong. Just curious, what do you guys do for a living? I can barely afford to take care of me and my 3 cats, I couldn't imagine caring for a family of 11, but that's amazing that you do. God bless. :)
Meatloaf is awesome for sandwiches plus its cheaper than lunch meat. With the huge recall on bores head lunch meats i just lost a lot of faith in all deli meats 😅. I ground up chicken, pork rinds , eggs add my seasonings cook in crockpot to form a great meat loaf . You can add Parmesan cheese and roll out in to meatballs flat out bake for a chicken nugget. My kids loves it. Protein better for us . Wait until you start in researching on what the brain needs 😅. Have you checked out Dr.berry on UA-cam yet hes more carnivore now but he has the best keto videos ever . Hes what got me into research on foods and eating better.
Hot Dogs are full of NITRATES. I buy only Beef. You shop like me. I'm constantly looking on the back of everything I put in my body and family and friends. Plus I'm diabetic type 2
You want to buy organic chicken. Sam's club has it in whole chicken. Little processing on your part . It can make great meals . Plus the organic grass fed ground beef and lamb meats is the best meats at Sam's club. You definitely on to something with cooking from scratch these days . Everything process is so bad no t even real foods anymore. Even the bottle water you gotta be careful they have adds in it . I try to get good spring water or distilled water. Salts , limes or lemon gives us our natural electrolytes. Happy research on all the foods I'm 7 years in and still learning it's crazy when you keep learning then you end up in this rabbit hole 🕳️🕳️🕳️...
I stopped buying or eating any products that are Tyson and I stopped eating all fast food places that buy Tyson when I learned they feed their chickens bugs and larvea and all kinds of other things.
Chickens naturally eat bugs, worms, mealworms, small frogs and even mice. They need lots of protein to produce eggs and to keep themselves healthy. I have free range hens, they are pets and they have my whole back to explore. I have created various areas to attract bugs and my hens spend most of their time in these areas. They have a constant supply of hen food which they also eat. I also give them dried crickets, dried meal worms and other dried bugs, plus scrambled egg, ham etc. Their eggs are beautiful, some lay twice a day and they never molt. Hens need all these things to remain healthy and to produce gorgeous creamy bright orange eggs.
Frozen veggies are just as good as frozen. They are picked at the perfect ripeness and flash frozen. Much better than canned.
