And they are open to combine them with every technique you want to incorporate into your personal style.

Luckily, I convinced Luis my assistant instructor to stick with it and now he believes how important it is to carry on his heritage to the next generation!
First time I asked what panan tukan was because it was the name of a chicken house in sagada, they asked if I want some panan tukan i said yes because I thought they were going to teach me something they then took me behind the house where the chicken pen was took a stick and beat the chicken with the stick then it died and they put it in hot water and started pulling out the feathers and cleaning it and made a dish which they claimed was panan tukan adobo..
AMOK KNIFE TACTICAL SOLUTIONS Right. The basic strikes of modern Panantukan aren't much different than that of Muay Thai. @@SakanLam thanks for your reply i appreciate it what about you do you have experience in western boxing? And would you pick escrima over boxing? The thing i dont understand is i see in panatukan there are alot of grabbing limb destruction and stuff like that but in fact all that is required to take a guy down is one solid punch to the chin so why bother breaking the guys weapons when you can go for the quickest route which is the knockout is there a reason?
@@figfydgfds4051 I've trained in boxing and muay thai, but never had any fights in those. Only competed in amateur MMA and full-contact. I would not pick one over the other, as they are both valuable to me. Self-defense requires a different mindset and the combat sports mentality is useful but could get you in trouble. Yes you can KO a person with one shot, but sometimes you don't have that option, especially if there are multiple opponents or weapons are involved. Panantukan has the guerilla warfare mindset... which is different from the dueling, one-on-one streetboxing mentality.
3:19 idk what it is but I love throwing elbows !
It's the sharpest and most powerful upper body strike!
Those punching movements kinda resemble knife work movements.
Check out my knife boxing videos!
@@SakanLam I watched it. It really made sense and I loved tge video.

It's PanUntukan from the Tagalog root word sUntok which means punch.

The kid got skills
Haha 36 year old kid.
With all due respect, I prefer Thai military style fighting techniques, lerdrit based on muay boran.
I respect your opinion. Panantukan is simply a support system for Kali weaponry.
but I could be wrong, I'm going to leave my prejudices aside and study more pangamut, I'm Brazilian and I really like Southeast Asian countries, you are very humble compared to the Chinese, Japanese and Koreans who think their cultures and martial arts are the best of the world! 🙏
@@vitorcrema7167 Thank you for the kind words. Martial arts is martial arts... and I love them all!

Mutsu Hanma Yes!! Working through a hip and lower back issue. That bit of rotation helps with power a ton! Thank you brother.
Thanks, I feel ashamed being a filipino not being able to learn a single thing about our own Martial arts
The whole Filipino community here in Chiang Mai have no clue about their own fighting arts. I keep pestering them to learn, but they'd rather play basketball. Luckily, I convinced Luis my assistant instructor to stick with it and now he believes how important it is to carry on his heritage to the next generation!
Currently we don't have any branches in Bangkok, but you can find Filipino Martial Arts teachers there.

Enjoy the channel, my friend!
If you want to learn a real PANUNTUKAN or FMA (Filipino martial arts) visit her in Philippines
It's been my goal for many years. So far we have been fortunate to have many masters from US and Philippines visit and share their knowledge with us.
Panantukan is a Filipino martial art, but the Thai flag is in the background.
I'm Thai and my gym is in Thailand.
background drums, percussion etc. off the chain...
Chayil El No doubt about that...
It seems to be not very dissimilar to the boxes. Punches and footwork are pretty the same, what does it change? OK... the background music. ahahah
What do you expect? It's a hybrid art. Techniques borrowed /stolen from Western Boxing, Kali, and Silat.
@@SakanLam It's all Ok, I appreciated techniques and all, but the music... that bongos
@@brancatiross it's belly dancing music 😆
@@SakanLam Thank you I really need this dancing belly's loop this morning ahaha
@@brancatiross All the best, my friend!
Is it really panAntukan instead of panUntukan? or maybe because that's the way it is being pronounced by an english speaking person?
My teacher told me this is the way his Guro's spelled it, so I'm not going to argue.
I was just curious how it came to be, thanks for the reply brother... :)
Yeah it's one of those details that everyone seems to agree on in our industry. You're welcome, brother!

this is not pinoy is simple muay thai
AMOK KNIFE TACTICAL SOLUTIONS Right. The basic strikes of modern Panantukan aren't much different than that of Muay Thai. What differentiates this system from others is the footwork, angles, entries, guntings, deployment of weapons, dumog, and dirty tactics. All of which will be covered in the intermediate course. Thanks for commenting - I'm a big fan of the Amok! system.
amok is not a system amok is a simple moro moro concepts of fightin tradicionan moros fighting arts panantukan is the non filippino way to boxing respect you work but is not pinoy salamat po sakaran lam the old masters in the past time make diferent arnt in the bathle this is a inosanto metot to make filippino modern boxing
Thank you for the clarification, my friend. Respect to you and your team.
いや、解んないよ!漢字の読み方に訓読み、音読みがあって更に当て字や、リズムで発音変わるの中国人が頭抱えて悩むレベル。
これ、不思議に思わず、使い分けてたのは、古代アッカド人くらい。
panUntukan, is it not?
J Izit My teacher's teacher spelled it this way. Anyhow,, does it even matter?
Sakan Lam: Well, for some it matters to them. It goes down to their craft, heritage, history and stories. Anyway, you have made a point from your answer that is enough for me since your master's master's teachings transcends to this age coming from you.
I was genuinely asking for that thought. Your answer sufficed my question. No bash intended.
👌😎👌
J Izit Much respect. Most of my teachers from the Inosanto lineage use this spelling, and so does my teacher under Guro Ted Lucaylucay. Also it seems to be the most popular form found on UA-cam, so I stuck with it. Thanks for your comment!
