Eberspächer heater: How does the water heater Hydronic S3 Economy work

Use the time you save in the morning to have breakfast with your family, to do sports or to prepare yourself for your day at work. Eberspächer water heaters run independently from the engine and make for twice the benefit: pre-heating the car cabin and engine. Hydronic S3 Economy is integrated into the cooling water circuit of the engine. The generated heat is picked up by the vehicle’s heat exchanger and is dispensed accurately through present air ducts into the car cabin as warm air.
Using the residual heat in the cooling water circuit, the engine is heated. And during summer, an Eberspächer pre-heater can be used to ventilate the car interior.

Nifty. Might be useful for EV's...in cold climate areas...as long as they could support storage of a 1-2 gallon kerosene/diesel tank. Would also be useful for radiant floor (hydronic) heating in RV's....if the outlet temperature can be regulated to a lower value (?).

Why you don’t say any words how long it can work at -30 C before you battery will be dead? And how much you should drive after preheat for charge back your battery?

Iv ran mine 2 full 120 minute cycles and not killed my batterys

Very nice - if you happen to be wealthy enough to afford one ! In this day and age, these things should be fitted to ALL engines to save wear and emissions as standard.

Francois Deshue a Cold start of an engine is like driving 10000 km so if you don't use an block heater or parking heater you are stupid !!!

If you would like to keep your vehicle warm over longer periods of time (several hours), you should opt for an air heater like the Eberspächer Airtronic. It will go easier on your battery.
