I noticed when I bought mine is that you have to connect the power to first turn it on, also one of the screws are captive. Yeah brilliant machine!
one of the screws are captive ? nope, all are. What did you do there, igger NVMe ?
I got the 4070 model and connected to a predator g-sync monitor via 2.1 hdmi cable (laptop port is hdmi 2.1, monitor 2.0). I am not getting g-sync options pop up in the Nvidia panel at all and even the vrr option in win 11 display settings is missing. Any ideas
Should I go for this, or G14 ‘24 model, or zenbook pro 14 duo?
hey guys need some quick help and advice. i just aquired a 4090 founders editon that was refurbished off ebay. i havent had a chance to test this card yet as im waiting for the rest of my pc parts to arrive but i noticed that the long metal prong on the top of the card is slightly bent. will that be a problem? is the card going to have any techbnical issues becuase of this? super paranoid and would love some advice
The efficiency of the 40 series cards is probably a huge part in being able to make them so thin and light but holy crap £1.6K is a lot for a laptop with a 4060, even the 4050 model is £1.5k...You could build a really nice PC for that.
It is a nice laptop though
You ahve to take into account the 120Hz OLED screen - I haven't had a gaming laptop I've used more than this, it is so so useful
Then build a pc…
@@J-qp3mv I did! And yeah it is nice for sure, not disputing that.
@@iitzfizz Laptops in general are always a huge price premium for packing in such a small space especially when they're sleek and "premium" rather than thick and pure plastic.
That said, the similar ASUS G14 4070 is almost £2.4k haha, so it makes this laptop seem fairly "cheap" in comparison considering on Currys the 4070 Transcend 14 is £1.8k
For sure you are going to get a lot better results on a bigger laptop with more powerful components and and higher power draw. To me this laptop is like an utrabook for school or work that can do some gaming..
Just picked up this laptop at Best Buy as an open box for $1000 saving $700. I don’t get to complain at that price. I’m loving it so far.
same! I was considering the new OLED g14, but pulled the trigger on an transcend 14 open box that was basically brand new at $1053.
for that price it’s unbelievably great. Good deal
How much power is the omen using.
The point of meteor lake is fantastic power efficiency to performance.
I’m looking to build a pc I new in this looking to build it to play helldiver2 got any recommendations??
Cool laptop Marcus!
temp going to be hot
This actually looks like a really nice laptop, a jack of all trades, things have certainly changed a lot in the portable gaming device market in the last few years, for me personally my laptop was a compromise because the wife said we didn’t have the space for me to have a PC… so a bigger screen was important to me as I didn’t really care for the portability of it, but I would definitely have considered something like this if the technology existed back when I was in school… 20 years ago 🤣
Anyone have link to the wallpaper?
You can’t fool me, Jacob Collier! When’s the next album
Can this laptop run on star citizen
I have a victus hp with a i7 and rtx4060 and 32gb of ddr5 ram and I added 2 more tb of memory that I use to travel and I love it. I wish the screen was 1440p however, I can’t complain because I got it in sell for $950 US dollars.
Battery life?
How much would it cost for you to build a pc I’m trying to get one but I can’t find one
Im on a budget
I don’t wanna build one because I feel like ima break it
Got the 4070 since last week and I love it!
How is the heat and power draw on heavy GPU games?
@@unspoken7704 bro the laptop has 65 tgp it probly has good temp but it is by far the worst laptop to buy for competitive gaming doesn't perform the best
@Zuzu_alazu I saw the disappointing power limit. Almost considered buying the Lenovo 14.5 until I saw the weight and construction materials as well meh performance and thermals. Probably going with ROG G14.
@@unspoken7704 ya thts a good choice. Also look into the loq they had a deal for an 4050 with an i7 13th gen amazing price to value
Omen transcend 14 or Samsung galaxy book 3 ultra for a portable gaming machine?
Samsung GB3 Pro 360 User. Get the Omen.
Raising the laptop will reduce the overall temp!
Is the video grainy or is it just me?
Just sold my lenovo ideapad rtx 3050 laptop now im wishing to upgrade to a 4060 laptop .I think this is the one
Get the slim 5 14inch!
I second this if you use headphones. If not, then either this or the g14 (23/24 models).
Intel laptops got really good by the looks of it
Too bad the TGP is mediocre on this variant. G14 and Lenovo variants run higher TGPs getting a bit better performance. G14 2024 even has VRR which is HUGE (if never experienced a VRR display you should try one out if you can ... it really helps with wild swings in fps for some games / low 1% smoothing it out so that you rarely if ever notice it).
How much would it cost for you to build a pc for me?
dont like how the hdmi only does 120 and with a 4070 most will want to plug in a 240 hz display
Is it available with a bigger screen. I hate 14" laptops.
16 inch version
« First time putting an ultra cpu in a 14’ gaming laptop » no, ASUS ROG Zephyrus did first with their 2024 model
What came out first?
Any free ones I may try? Sweepstakes etc? I’m dying for one for school and play.
Happy to see hp be useful for a change. I hope razer stop being overpriced over heating garbage
Ty ho for outdoing your competition while being price competitive
I am still gonna stick to my gaming pc. But tysm for giving razer the middle....
Oh yea?! What's this got that my G14 aint got?! 🤨...oh you say the charging port is conveniently located on the back instead of right in the damn middle of the left side..? 🤔😐
**Drops G14 into trashcan**
Atleast HP laptop will sirvive more then Asus laptop ..
Pfff, I have upgraded the RAM on all my laptops...
With a TGP of 85W....its not a gaming laptop...ITS A SCAM... & HP's been very good at it!
A 4060 for $2000??? I would expect a 4080 or a 6900 HS AMD with at least 12GB VRAM not a 4060 with 6GB...
80 degrees for some minutes of gaming, performance will drastically decrease overtime to keep the engine at 80 degrees, what a scam lmao
damn rtx 4060 and an intel 7 at 2k laptops really are a scam, never again
why
for that kinda money i can get an rtx 4080 super with an ryzen 7700 and an asus proart 100% color acurate monitor. getting a powerful laptop just doesnt make sense to me especially one that is so bad in value. like youre better off getting that kinda system and a cheap laptop and having a remote connection whenever you really need it, cuz you arent using your laptop to full power on battery.@@daunted2322
The i9 with the rtx 4070 and 32gb of ram is the one that cost 2k
Last year, I bought a legion slim 5 i7 13700h 4060 for 1400$. The 2023 models are really good don't know what happened to 2024 models
@@m_vergil85 is it a 1080p screen ?
My Legion Slim 5 14 did this in 2023. @ 1.7Kilo
I was seriously considering the 4070 model of this laptop. The I stumbled the 14 inch 2024 G14 which will give you better performance and even better battery life for the same specs and similar price. If you are considering this laptop I'd recommend you look into the G14 as well.
Omen transcend actually has better battery life and lower fan noise. This has been shown in many reviews on UA-cam already. G14 gets more power because of higher wattage allowed but I prefer the omen 14 for better fan noise and lower temps
Thats crap quality price ratio
The older omen have for 1300€
4060 I7 144hz 32ram 1To
This one is 2300€ for insignificant upgrade
no chapters on thermals, battery, speakers (got to be honest speakers and heat vents on bottom sounds terrible idea for anyone with laptop on actual lap). If you are NOT putting on your lap, there's no real point in such a small machine.
The dealbreaker for me...There is no 32GB Ram option for the 4060 or 4050 option.
IF its not at least 15.6'' its a no no no
Since you ask, you get your answer: this kind of notebook is not for me. I have settled for a desktop. This notebook has these major drwabacks:
- way too loud for my taste
- OLED flickering is not for me but IPS is my preference
- small arrow keys and wobbling keys are unacceptable; I very much prefer a mechanical keyboard with German desktop-like layout
- maintenance is way too difficult
- the price is greedy
- 14" limits hardware options too much; 18" are closer to my needs
I think that, while a 14" display is fine for a compact general purpose laptop or 2 in 1, it is too small for gaming. Being hunched over this laptop all day is going to wreck your back. I don't mind carrying a larger laptop. And the idea of a gaming laptop being fully portable is laughable. If you want to casually game anywhere, grab a handheld.
You're not going to get RAM slots on something that thin.
There will be a burgeoning industry in another year or two upgrading laptops with soldered RAM to 32GB. I am working on learning the necessary skills to capitalize on it. If they can do it on a GPU, a laptop should be even easier because the new RAM should just be automatically recognized because the CPU can handle that much (if not more). There might be a resistor or two that needs changing but that's not difficult.
Performance here is hardly impressive. You wouldn't expect a mobile 4060 to perform that much worse than a desktop 3060. But then you'd also expect the performance of a desktop 4060 to be substantially better than a 3060. However, it isn't.
Zephyrus G14 better 🙏
