We were there last weekend for the first time and took the "Journey Under the Falls" tour. It was amazing! I was disappointed this "tunnel" wasn't open yet at after our tour and seeing this video, I can only imagine how AMAZING this will be! I definitely recommend everyone to go see NIagara Falls from the Canada side (remember your passport). Truly beautiful!
Is absolute amazing experience , I am totally impressed with entire creation, it must be on the list when visiting Niagara Falls. Thank you Negara Parks for a great work you do🙂
Was here in October 2022 and would recommend 10/10 , simply incredible! The guided tour was an incredible learning experience, the light show was beautiful and emotion provoking at times and the tunnel just spectacular. Will definitely return again in the future.
I knew this was coming, but didn’t realize it was here. I need to return for this. I loved my last visit to the station. Incredible engineering feat. Thank you for sharing. 🌸
It's a wonderful attraction, to be sure, but the most exciting tunnel of all has not yet been opened to the public: the even mightier tailrace tunnel of the Toronto Power Generating Station just a few metres up the street, along the Niagara Parkway, from this building. Also known as the "Confluence" tunnel (because it consists of two tailraces that merge into one), It is even more exciting, because it opens out *behind the Horseshoe Falls* in a massive opening that is even more gigantic than this tunnel! It's like Journey Behind the Falls increased to the tenth power, but even stormier and more intense because it opens near the base of the Horseshoe Falls. The wheelpit from which it leads is also an epic structure, far more imposing and grand than that of the Rankine station (the one that's currently open). I hope that Niagara Parks someday opens *that* tunnel to visitors. But what would be better is if it would *not* be sanitized and made stroller-accessible (the way this one has been), but preserved in its rugged, weathered state. It could be a kind of "adventure caving" attraction for more daring visitors. It is quite simply the greatest sight in all of Niagara, and yet only a few urban explorers (along with the original builders) have ever seen it. Yet the epic story of its construction is even more exciting than that of this tunnel.
@@raymorley8241 One can only hope. I believe that Niagara Parks has invited proposals for the use of the building itself. (What a shame that it was gutted of its contents when it was taken over.) It could be turned into a general museum of the Falls area (perhaps of the sort that the building that now houses the Bird Kingdom once was). But to whatever uses that grand structure is put, the real treasure is its incomparable "Confluence" tailrace, and the cavernous wheelpit that leads to it. Rankine is interesting, but cannot compare to the grandeur of what lies hidden under the Toronto Power Company / Toronto Power Generating Station.
I grew up in the Buffalo, NY area, so I have been to the Falls more times than I can count. I moved away in 2009. I would love to be able to go aback to see this. I love the Canadian side of the Falls.
TESLA ⚡ is there any place to see the original Tesla AC Power Generators for which these tunnels were built!? such an opportunity to educate the public to a name largely passed over for his instrumental role in inventing the modern AC power system - a result of george westinghouse investing in nikola tesla's electric genius - starting with inventing the method of brushless AC electricity generation - the very power generators for which this tunnel was built. i know there is a tesla memorial in proximity to the falls, yet this tunnel takes us right into the heart of the work. thx for making this possible. 🙏
wow 28 bucks entry. nearly 90 bucks for 3 people (2 adults and a teen) wow, that is expensive, unless the Hotel can give us some pass's as much as this looks cool, it's not 100 bucks cool :(
They have worked on this for at least two years. The expense you couldn't imagine. ( 25 Million) You spend that in one dinner and it's gone. I think it's a Bargain!
You have to realize this is the 2020's not the '70's everything is expensive now of days and fixing these old buildings to make them look original as possible is not cheep I hope they do the one across the road as well I have been in Sir Adam Beck #1 & #2 years ago. #2 was the main floor set up like a museum but that was back in the '70's as well as going into Sir Adam Beck #1 your..they had old movies of them building the system my father was one of the engineers in Chippewa water diversion into the tunnels...
@@kjoe5532 yeah thats true, but if your visiting and staying your probably oing to be in a hotel car park and then use the wego, but yes also a point, for day trippers

WOW! A whole new reason to visit Niagara Falls.
This is awesome, I'm going to visit Niagara Falls in July. Can't wait to see the power station and the tunnel.

My Wife and i were there yesterday and it was an amazing experience.

I had always wondered where that Tailrace exit was. Do they have plans to open this eventually?

You are so right! Agree 100%. I've been interested in this for over 10 years, and watched jon doe's videos.
everything that niagara falls creates has that WOW EFFECT
Proud to be a Canadian 🇨🇦.
So excited for this. Haven't made it to the generating station yet but now even more reason to go!
Aaaamazing!
Can we please also get the other one open? Toronto Power Generating Station tailrace? The one that leads into the horseshoe?
THANK YOU FOR OPENING UP THIS TUNNEL !!!!!!!
Glad I waited am going there tomorrow love the innovation
Let us know how it goes!!!
@niagara parks! We had a great time at The Tunnel and the Power Station! Thank you.
This tunnel is from the Rankine Station. Where is the tailrace outlet for the Toronto Generating Station just slightly u[stream from Rankine?

Excited
Al Capone used the Tunnel at the Niagara Parks Power Station to smuggle alcohol across the border during the prohibition.
Yeah right. The tunnel doesn’t cross the river/border.
Wow 👌
I wish we could buy tickets just for the tunnel. We have already visited the power station but to see just the tunnel we have to pay for both.
Recorded horizontally:)
👍
is this on the canadian side ? where going there on Friday ? txs
canadian side, txs for the link, should have checked it out first :)
