I feel like every big stage the monkeys peform, they deliver their best version. All three glastonbury performances are insane but this one.. I've never seen anything like this
What an absolute great video! Fantastic job! 👏 Man, watching your video put me in such a nostalgic place. 🥰 I saw Arctic Monkeys just a week before Glastonbury at a festival in Germany back in 2013. Can't belive more than 10 years have past since then already. It was such a great and special time to see them live, just a few months before the release of AM. They still leaned heavy on the magical old tunes, that will always hold a special place in my heart. But you could already feel the new rise of the AM-era: Alex' new stage-persona and the banger singles "Do I wanna know" and "R U Mine" in the set, you could tell they're on the rise again. I just love this band and I am happy and greatful to share my path of life with them❤
@@jackstu4rt Thank you for your response! Yeah I totally agree, the setlist seems like the perfect 'greatest hits' compilation of their career up to this point. You covered it so well in your video! The only additions at Glastonbury were "Fake Tales" and Miles Kane joining them for 505. 🙂 It was actually the second time I saw them live. The first time was back in 2011 at the same festival (they were not even headliners back then), just a week after the SIAS-Album release. It was a great show, no doubt, but the headline-spot in 2013 appered whay more triumphant! 🤩 I can't wait for your next AM-video and hope your channel really kicks-off! 🤟
this is an incredible video. Even before this I could probably tell you everything that happens in this concert as well as I could the back of my hand but you explaining it brings it into a new light I have never seen before. Ty sm Jack amazing work :)
I'ts awesome to see Alex losing his social grace over time and gaining more musical maturity on his performances. Watching them at Primavera Sound São Paulo, before Alex got bored with the tour, it was very clear to see their evolution as they played their early songs.
The video of the performance I used didn’t include mad sounds, and I actually forgot to include the video (even though I actually included it in the script) good find though ahaha!!
2:22 'he continues playing the riff while being able to somehow sing simultaneously' this riff is easy as fuck i learnt it in less than a minute by ear, a way better example would be do i wanna know because the vocals don't follow the rhythm of the guitar / are syncopated (i cant recall which one it is i dont listen to the arctic monkeys)
can you make video about radiohead’s astoria 1994 performance as well? in my opinion best sounding early “rock” set of theirs, would love to hear about your opinion about it
@@jackstu4rt the instruments from the album version of the song “My iron Lung” were taken from this performance, only vocals were re-recorded in the post productions. Whole set is on theirs youtube channel in good quality ty for response btw :)
I knew it came from a live performance, I just didn’t realise it was that gig! Definitely seems like one of the most important gigs they played. I’m going to add it to the list of videos :)
I got it from reddit here www.reddit.com/r/arcticmonkeys/s/0zbl6upRAU :) (keep in mind it doesn’t include Mad Sounds, hence I didn’t cover it in the video)
can't believe I was too busy being 8 and wasn't there
Real, we should’ve been born earlier
Please keep doing these, this was the best gig AM have ever done
Excellent video. You show a lot of well needed nuance and make some great points here. Instant subscribe!!
Ahh thank you kind sir!

I was lucky enough to see them at a festival, and it was insane!

You would’ve got all the same songs, I’m so jealous! That encore is just perfection! Was it your first Monkeys concert?

Nice work man!

Thank you very much! Hopefully some more AM content coming in the future!
I swear the production value of these retrospective videos are par to none. Brilliant work as always
Ahh thank you very much :) I’m glad people are resonating with my Arctic Monkeys yap-sessions!

It’s pretty cool that we got to see his progression in real time. I think that’s what keeps it interesting, and forcing them to progress and develop
Happy Birthday Alex Turner! Nice nod to release around this time
I’m glad you noticed! I was trying to get it released in time for his birthday, fortunately it comes earlier in Australia!
brilliant job, buddy!! cheers from brazil🎉 wish you the best and keep making these awesome productions
Thank you!! I definitely will :)
You should do a video about their best show ever ( imo was nos alive 2023 portugal, they played some of their best songs with the best live versions)
amazing video!
Thank you very much!!
Perfect!!!
Thought this was gonna be about their 2023 show :( (still amazing video tho pls keep posting them)
2023 Glastonbury was a really good gig, it was unfortunate that Alex was sick :(
@@jackstu4rt he was? i have body paint and R U mine from that show on my spotify playlist and they are so good i cant even tell he was sick
I love the extended Body Paint outro from that show, Matt’s drumming is insane
Gutted I was only 5 :((
Ain’t that the truth
It was literally my 5th birthday :(
you forgot mad sounds but good video

@jackstu4rt no worries, at least the performance is still searchable

23,000 fans? This is Glastonbury - do you mean 230,000 fans in attendance?
Yeah my bad, I was meant to say 123,000, which from what I could find, was the estimated attendance
How did you find all the footage?? I really want to watch this concert
I got it from reddit here www.reddit.com/r/arcticmonkeys/s/0zbl6upRAU :) (keep in mind it doesn’t include Mad Sounds, hence I didn’t cover it in the video)
123,000 more like. Pyramid holds 150k
I should’ve double checked my script! Definitely a funny mis-read though
