I am in zone 7b Rio Rancho. New Mexico. I planted about 30 barefoot last year and not many made it, but I bought Belindas Dream (4) from Walmart last year. Yes walmart. The performed the best hands down. Growth, continually gorgeous blooms, nice scent, year 1 all are 2-3 ft and full. Highly recommend.
@@TheRoseGeek I believe it was our up and down weather with frosts (i believe one slight snow of an inch). I live in a weird little micro climate in the desert. From very warm to freezing, Plants, trees and roses were popping out of dormancy multiple times. I'm a pretty avid gardner on 1 acre of land, newer to roses. I had hundreds of mature lavender plants and have maybe 25 left, mature fruit trees with major die back, crepe myrtles that died to the ground for the first time , etc. Hit pretty hard with loss for the fist time in my 7 years here. I will work to build it back up this year. I bought a few own root roses from antique Emporium, and I'm itching to plant. This year is unseasonably warm. Rain once and it has been mid 50s low 25-35 at night. I do winter water here in the desert.
Grew this rose inTexas for several years. Each year the rose blooms got bigger in diameter. Up to 5-6 inches. Moved to the PNW and replanted.It is growing great and had blooms first planting last spring... I love this rose!!!
It does have a fragrance, but it is light; You're sometimes surprised by a light, fruity breeze, and you'll wonder "where is that coming from?" and it's from the rose :) I have about 7 planted in a row.
I just order from them after seeing your video , thanks for reference One thing though, I got flat rate shipping for $50 for my 5 roses ( not per roses fees )

Thats a beautiful bareroot! I took a look at their site and noticed they have Scentuous which is a rose I want. I was waiting for Chamblees to have it back in stock but after seeing yours I may go ahead and order it from this site. Im in Florida zone 9a so its the time to plant bareroots.
I got a tiny potted Belinda's Dream from Chamblee's roses. I'm happy with it but I would have been happier to get this monster size from Flourish Roses for the same price.
Will check out the site. I have Belinda's dream hands down one of the best roses. Great consistent flowering and yes good scent! Whole package type rose. I think you'll love it. Thanks

I have Belinda's Dream roses.The scent itself is wonderful but I have to get very close to notice the scent. Mine are smaller than that giant one in your video though. Perhaps the fragrance could waft from a larger rose with many, many blooms especially on a humid day. Either way I enjoy Belinda's dream for her dependable health, constant flushes, and great big blooms. :)
Look at all that green canes and super healthy roots… I wish there are more vendor carrying Fortuniana Rootstocks. I am in Florida, I am reaching many vendors that carry Fortuniana, thier stock is so limited.
I'm shocked to hear that anyone's Belinda's Dream isn't fragrant. I have BD that I got from chamblee's 5 years ago and it's probably one of my most fragrant roses out of my 200+ roses. I wouldn't say it ranks up to the top tier like Evelyn or spirit of freedom, but it's highly fragrant with obvious raspberry notes. Maybe it's one of those fragrances that some people are nose-blind to? Hmm... I can't wait to hear what you think about it. That is one monster bare root! I have ordered from Flourish roses in the past and have had great luck with their roses and have always gotten quick friendly knowledgeable responses. Great people!

Wow, that thing looks absolutely massive! If you had to guess, how old do you think it is to have canes that thick?
Excellent rose, great bloomer, but does not have a strong fragrance. Barely fragrant.
