"Death in Hallway" - Vision Video - Goth Rock / Post-Punk - FLASH WARNING!

- The sick and dying lining the hallways is will be the lasting image in my head from my experience as a firefighter/paramedic during the Summer and Fall of 2021. I witnessed the total exhaustion and collapse of an already beleaguered health care system. People (even non-Covid related patients) often died in the hallway, waiting for a nurse or physician to see them because, simply put, there weren't enough healthcare workers to take care of them. So, as a paramedic, I gave life saving drugs and did every intervention I could to keep them alive until they could be seen with more intensive care- and unfortunately people would die, with me as their only witness, in hallways surrounded by other sick, injured and dying strangers.
Meanwhile, people like Kelly Loeffler (a Georgia senator) got away with such unbelievable crimes. Loeffler spun the same web in the begging of the pandemic that Trump did - that it wasn't a big deal, that it was a mere flu, that it would go away. Meanwhile, behind closed doors, privy to intense government briefings on the severity of the coming storm, Loeffler (amongst others) dumped millions of dollars of stock in businesses they knew would nose dive during this time, and used the profits to pad stocks in companies they knew would rise during a long-term global pandemic. They profited off of death, and they got away with it completely.
This song is a thank you to those who fought to save lives, who worked forced overtime, who had to sequester themselves from their families during the pre-vaccine pandemic. This song is also a message to those who downplayed and profited during that time: I will never forget you, and neither will the spirits of those whom which you profited from.

I am one of those healthcare workers. I had the chance to see you do this live and I will tell you it was overwhelming. I stood surrounded by my friends and adult daughter and just cried as you sang. It means so much that you took the time to write a song about the horrible tragedy that we worked through, and fought with every ounce of energy in our bodies to save our patients. Thank you Sir for your time in the trenches, I know that same pain.
Important message that is World Wide. That happens everyday. And the poor staff inside Health Care System can't do more than they get money for. That started way before that terrible C came, but it didn't make it better.
I saw dying people already some years back, when my dad was taken into Hospital as emergency. Showed up he had cancer and couldn't even get pain killers that worked. Even then other sick patients were everywhere and not enough with stuff. Tte waiting time for surgeries goes long, so some people die before (that could been saved if they got their surgery) and the big C made it worser.
We also have those that earned so much money.
We still have the similar situation over here, cause many quit their jobs. Way too exhausted with even longer shifts and feeling hopeless.
Thanks for the song. Even if it's an important message and under tone... it was still a great Birthday gift to this "old Goth".

@@visionvideoband Sadly... But at least people can come to Hospital or other Health Care, cause here you don't have to have special insurance. But some people get private insurance to be able to get help faster and mybe even in private Health Care.

I didn't know what this song was about when I heard it but HOLY SHIT, I AM SHAKEN.
I was an essential worker during the pandemic and I will never forget being left on the chopping block to die. It was an absolute breach of my humanity while "nonessential" workers got paid vacations and complained about being stuck in the house. Every day I left for work I kissed my husband and told him I loved him like it was the last time I would ever see him. Think about the toll that takes on someone, saying your final goodbye to your spouse every morning for a year. During that year I measured life in 15 min intervals, just trying to survive and disinfect everything over and over, hoping I could find or make a decent mask to protect myself. I will NEVER forget the year when society's mask dropped and everyone was shown their true place.
WHAT THE HECK IS SO GOOD LIKE DANGEROUSLY GOOD???

Thank you Goth Dad for helping me process these past few years.
My mother was working as a nurse during the pandemic in a nursing home, my father is a nurse as well for the homeless. My father was allowed to bring home equipment; however, my mother was not given PPE at her work. Management made them make/use coffee filter masks using staples and masking tap; threatening the nurses with "a size 10 boot up their ass if they steal supplies." The mask my mother received looked bad but my dad was able to bring home masks for all. Alas, all patients assigned to my dear mother passed from the virus. Nurses were instructed to not write it down as deaths related to the coronavirus, just the symptoms. Soon, my mother contracted COVID-19 as the disease sent her to the hospital, nearly got intubated. Which in nurse world, intubation means "close to death." I remember my mother wheezing up the stairs as my father and brother nearly carried her to the couch once she got home. Fortunately, my food worker's union let me quarantine and back at work as a cashier once 14 days past. My mother survived and lives today, but she was left permanently disabled, given no more hours at work and a $0.00 check. She hasn't found a replacement job and sometimes I give my parents some money.

Wow... this one plucks and tears at my heart strings. Seriously, thank you for your music!! 🖤 I had just become a RN and then the pandemic hit three months later. The patients you lose truly follow you wherever you go. I haven't forgotten their names or faces. I no longer work inpatient but am now an Oncology nurse at an outpatient clinic. My patients quickly become like family. I am that weird nurse who if I lose a patient, I read their obituary and visit their grave alone to say one last goodbye. If a patient chooses hospice care, I hug them (if theyre agreeable) and say "thank you for sharing a piece of your life with me though I know this hasn't been the easiest part of your journey." Though the world can be cruel, I choose to be as kind as I can be.
