I like the idea of challenge mode, I feel like I could help get more motivated to practice drawing more often
hello there
That's true!
no
Yeah there basically stilling they put this on the 3ds originally now there trying to profit off of something they killed of themselves
i agree!
1. Will it be possible to send your drawing files to a computer?
2. How big will the files be able to be?
3. How many layers can be opened simultaneously?
Thats what i want to know. -x- because if it's "cloud saves" that means nintendo membership needs to be bought everytime you want to transfer files....
For me, I usually screen shot my drawings and connect my switch to my laptop using its USB cable that it comes with. Then you drag n drop the files. (There's videos on how to to it this way, but this is a simple breakdown). I've never really had an issue getting videos or screenshots this way. (And no you don't need nintendo switch online membership) I've had more trouble doing it the "easy" way with the qr codes and such so I usually just drag and drop the files.
Also, the layer number is about the same, if not more than the 3ds version. I will check in a bit and edit this comment for a definite number! :)
Edit: 10 layers total folks! (I have colors live 3d on the switch already)
I had Colors 3D for the 3DS so I'll at least give you a baseline. Hopefully they've improved it.
1) You'll at least be able to send them indirectly through the Colors Gallery. You can post art you don't want anyone to see and wips privately.
2) I don't know about the file size itself, but they had a standardized canvas size on the 3DS where you only chose between portrait and landscape. They don't show any other aspect ratios in the video, so you could probably download a random piece from the Gallery and find out.
3) At least five.
maybe you will be able to add the files to the gallery on the switch and transfer them through that?
All the people here saying to get an iPad instead - you are aware that an iPad + Apple pencil will cost you around 700 bucks, while this game and stylus are around 45 bucks (assuming people already own a switch). This is really great especially for kids to get into digital art!!
a used ipad is 500, it’s worth the investment because an ipad can do more and has photoshop.
@@chuchu9649 Oh definitely! I own an iPad that I use fulltime for drawing and other things, and I'd recommend anyone to look into iPads if they are interested in digital, mobile art. But for a young kid that is still a big investment, and I feel like kids are better off with a Switch o:
I have an iPad but this still looks fun for practicing since the challenge mode or whatever it was could be used for inspiration, just as an app
you could also buy a laptop and a mediocre drawing tablet and get a ton more features with it
I own a ipad pro and procreate (Novice digital artist)
I support Colors Live and people using this as another means to art, i will definitely be getting it myself
The art that you create should be used as themes for your switch.
EDIT: Thx for 3k likes :3
That's the best idea I've heard all year!

Currently I draw on an old beat up Ipad and a cheap drawing pen off Amazon
a drawing pad would cost less i guess. Btw kids should draw on paper
@@Superlisop paper isn’t always the best option for everyone, don’t try to dictate what every kid should do when you don’t know every kid
@@graffititurtle11 are you stupid? In wich way is it better to put the child down by giving it something like a phone just different then having it draw on paper... paper is real and doesnt have anythink that can make you become addicted or something. Do you see children from today? The younger they are when they start using electronics the faster they get ruined. For example see fortnite kids..... they are the biggest proof that children shouldnt have a phone or too much contact with mobile devices until they get to a certain age. An whats that crap about when you dont know every kid"... walk past a kindergarden and honestly say there is no child that has a smartphone. You cant... and thats a problem. @@Superlisop great job putting words in my mouth… maybe you should stop being so defensive and try to be more open-minded so you can actually learn a thing or two. Just an idea 🤷♀️
The original on the 3ds was how I got into digital art. It’s really cool too see this come back!
It actually started out on the DS, as an unofficial homebrew application!

@@hello.9958 but like I said, it’s literally always been possible… not even ‘drawing’ the pixels, the general idea of pixel representation in art has always been easy to do in all art programs. Is it a dedicated button? No, but that isn’t needed to be.

@@fernandoagustincelisosorio5025 Yup, the original version was called "Colors!" and while it was eventually and officially made available on the 3DS Shop, the very first one was a homebrew project.
Owning an iPad Pro/Apple pencil and frequently using them both, as well as a switch, I think this is a very cool idea to add onto the switch
I wonder if they can add a new version of Flipnote in switch.

I've kind of always wanted to get into digital artwork, but I could never afford an art tablet, nor do I feel like I'll truly make the most of one. I may give this a go and see if art is something I want to try and take more seriously.
Don’t get down on yourself if your art is bad, getting better just takes time and so if art is your passion don’t throw it away if you’re not good at first 👍
@@Andriale Lol, no worries there, starting is always rough for anything. It's just a matter of sticking with it and seeing if I truly do have a passion for it. Buying an expensive art tablet wouldn't be in my best interest without knowing that, but a piece of software for an electronic I already own wouldn't be a terrible place to test that out. I appreciate the encouragement, though. :)
Having used the original software on the 3ds, you'll be in good hands with this one. Colours has always been ridiculously good for the price 👌🏻
Using a tablet without a screen is a good starting option if you're on a tight budget.
It takes a while to get used to but it's great for beginners.
You can get USB drawing tablets for the same price as a video game. I started with just the mouse and bought the tablet once I felt invested enough and I used that one for years before upgrading. Still haven't got one with a screen though, those are expensive, haha! But don't feel you need professional equipment to draw digitally, learning and building new skills are the only important tools you need to begin with and they come with experimenting through what's already available to you.
That said, this a basic drawing screen and art program bundled together, so it's still a great start but I don't know if it'll match up with the real thing. ^-^

It was a wonderful experience being part of the beta team. I have had my solar pen for a couple months now, and I admit, it's hard getting used to at first. Also this is a great app, it might not be as featured as other art programs but it's really comfy and easy to use and still has a decent amount of features. I think the only downgrade from Colors! 3D is the inability to use reference images (it's incredibly useful for keeping a character's colors consistent across images or if you wanna rework a pic you made somewhere else in Colors!, for example), but that's something they're gonna add in the future anyway so we just have to wait.
