It definitely was, before I knew which car to use to make that jump. I kept thinking I'd eventually make it if I kept turning around and trying again, but no, if you don't make it on your first try with a certain car, you need to try a different car. Thanks for watching and commenting!
The way that I did it when I was younger was that I landed on the first rock platform in front of it, and then turbo boost to the other one that had the Thunder Roller pick-up It was much easier this way.
I thought the video was really good. It didn’t help me. But it made me a little sad that I didn’t know about any of these when I originally used to play it with my dad. I’d have loved a few of these lol thanks for putting in the effort. It was great to watch. Edited very well too. And including your fails was excellent. :)
It took me a while before I realized the Lakester was the only car in the game with enough air-time to reach the 2nd platform. Another way to do it is to just adjust your speed so you land on the 1st platform & then turbo to the 2nd. Also in the near 20 years this game has been out, I never knew the Rigor Motor was actually a secret car & never knew about that location. I thought the Power Rocket was the only secret car on that level. I just assumed it was a championship car you got by winning tournaments.
for the one on top the snowy boulder where you failed a few times I remember landing on the firstvrock than using turbo to go to the second boulder.....fun stuff it was hunting for all of these
I'm 28 and I have clear memories of how I got to the roof and accidentally unlocked a new car as a kid.. This game was where I first saw the Twin Mill car and fell inlove with it.. Also, I would fuck around because of all the secrets and short cuts it had.. Great game and great memories man..
There's a password you can enter to unlock everything as well. Go down to where it says "Password" and enter "PWDTST" to get every track and car except Tow Jam, and "TWJM" to unlock Tow Jam. For players like me that didn't have a controller pak with which to store the game's memory. Also, did you know that almost every "Top Speed" ranking for each car is wrong? The most glaring example is for Speed Blaster, which is 10 MPH slower than Sol-Air CX-4 but has a higher "Top Speed" ranking. This game has so many interesting things about it, despite being 20 years old and relatively limited compared to other racing games.

I really wish that the game didn’t automatically unlock everything once you beat the last cup. If they didn’t just automatically give you everything, then you’d have a reason to go back and try to find them all. Once you beat the cups there’s no reason to play anymore :(

I remember how i spend a lot of days as a kid ramming all walls on each track trying to find the cutscene s car (Jet threat). I found all cars except that one. I will download the game only for Jet threat lol

If you still don't have all of the cars, entering the password TWJM will unlock Tow Jam, which can't be unlocked by normal means, so it's not cheating. If you _want_ to cheat, entering PWDTST will unlock everything except Tow Jam. Thanks for watching!

Probably 10-15 years ago (as a kid), I explored every track front to back in practice mode for hours just grinding down each wall to see if it would shatter. I might have also looked up really old FAQs for the game back then, because I doubt I found the Dawn Encounter waterfall one and the well-hidden Road To Rustwell one without help. But with a combination of those two things, I was able to quickly recall all of the car locations when it came time to record this video.

Am I the only one, who read every car name with the exact voice that says the car names in the game? I haven't played this game for 15 years. But I still remember every intonation of the car names. Furthermore. I don't want to hurt you. But it is literally a pain to watch the way you are driving :D.
I don't think the N64 version has that voice, so I have no nostalgia for that myself. And I should really turn off comment notifications for my old videos, because I'm prone to getting bothered by negative comments on things I made when I was a kid.

I just found a copy of this game going through some old stuff of mine. I don't have a memory pak but you can use passwords in this game. Thàts why I have always loved games that use a password system.
It looks cool (and in real life, it's a very special model which you can charge up using an included battery-operated base, and then it glows and drives around on its own). But, I don't find it very useful for anything in the game, as I recall it doesn't have a good stunt stat, and stunts are everything for me. I agree, it's the hardest secret car to get in the game because it's just impossible to reach if you don't have the right car, and not many cars are right for that jump. I've only ever gotten it with Lakester, but I haven't tried it with every car. When I was a kid, I was afraid of dying to the minecart in Snake River Mine, so getting Formula 5000 was the second hardest for me.
That's obtained by winning the Hot Wheels Cup. Sorry, I excluded the vehicles that are prizes for winning cups since they should be obtained as you play rather than requiring you to hunt for them.
I beat the whole game and got all cars but i feel that i need one more, i got all from the vodeo including twinmill, twinmill 2, go cart, but i cant seem to get twinmill 3 i cant find the last one
Hey there, I'm guessing it's Tow Jam. That one can only be unlocked by entering the password TWJM, and as far as I know, there's no other way to get it. There isn't a Twin Mill 3 in the game, so don't worry. Thanks for watching and commenting!
+AMathMonkey You get all the mystery cars you didn't already unlock (including TowJam) by beating the race against the Twinmills (Twinmill challenge?) but it's REALLY hard even to this day lol. I spent many frustrated hours to finally beat those mofos back in the day.
Finding & getting these mystery cars back in the days meant so much to me. Days when we needed to find unlockables and not buy them. x.x

I think only 4x4s can break it. Same rule as those signs on the 4x4 shortcuts.

This is not all unlocked cars.
It's all the cars that you can collect on the tracks. Hence "collectible mystery cars". For every other car, beat the cups and challenges.

You unlock that one by beating the Secret Car Cup, I believe. It's unlocked with regular progression in the game and is not hidden on a track.
