Man tht looks awesome! Its such a gorgeous area in Pemberton!! Gotta love this time of year and all the scenery! Im glad you got those pants replaced! You earned my sub man keep the vids coming!
Wow! Greetings from Siberia! We also go freeriding not far from Lake Baikal. After watching the "Depth Preception" films, we were inspired by British Columbia and jokingly call our Mamai - Buryat Columbia, because we have up to 3 meters of snow per season. You can watch on my channel. We also go skiing and live in simple huts. I built a hut for myself. Maybe someday I will visit British Columbia. Thank you for the video!
Got new ones! Spoke to Arcteryx HQ and after some manuevering allowed me to get the bib pants and pay the difference. Verrrrrry happy with the bibs and glad it all worked out in the end.
Ugh. You need to take this vid down - this cabin and others in the Duffy are getting hit so hard because of videos like this... I'm stoked you had a great trip, but please please please keep it to yourself or at least don't advertise to the whole world that you stayed in a hut and that it's "3km from the hwy" :(
Hey Max, I purposefully never specially mention the cabin's name. It does require a bit of effort for anyone who wants to get there to actually find out where it is and what cabin it is. I guess it's a two sided coin. People want information on where they can tour, but people who tour don't want other to come out... We were all getting started at some stage and got our information from somewhere... I hear your concerns but also think the classic "surfer local" approach isn't necessarily the way to go either.
@@Movesmedia I think the difference between waves (i.e. surfer local) and cabins is that the cabins were built by people, who I know don't want them to be overrun. I definitely wouldn't have an issue with folks posting about sweet ski lines or authoring guidebooks about ski routes, etc. In this specific cabin's case, the person who built the original cabin passed away in an avalanche sadly, but I know that they had a strong preference towards keeping it secret - next time you're in the cabin open the old logbooks from the early 2000s and have a read. Also, happy to connect you with the folks who currently bring in firewood and maintain the hut, you will hear the same sentiment.
@@MrMatthewwalton it's on public land and build illegally of course, like pretty much all backcountry huts, with the exception of huts created/maintained by organizations such as the ACC which apply for recreational land-use tenure. If you find it, if you're told where it is by a close friend - go there, it's open! But that's besides the point. My point is that the informal cabin system only works at a very small scale - posting about it on UA-cam just means that it will be slammed, there will be no firewood, etc. My ask is: reach out, get involved, maintain these huts, haul in firewood, fix the roof leaks, deal with the outhouse; then feel like you have authority to publicize them.
Was searching for "Ski Hut" and your video popped up as one of the first - Just subscribed - Amazing video :)
Your VLOG is my new favorite thing! Thank you for being a nice sincere dude---not a super extreme bro..

What I missed that hut last winter bah... there was a cougar out chasing elk. Saw cougar 2 times
What! Gah that is crazy! Not a fan of cougars roaming around...
@@Movesmedia
That was in early April last year we had so much snow. Doing it solo is never recommended either. Cool beautiful place. Like the videos.
What Arcteryx jacket are you wearing?
It's the beta LT. Solid shell with very minimal insulation.
@@Movesmedia Nice. I'm running the Arcteryx Sphene and Rush LT. The sphene is one best hard shells I've ever used. Never thought of the beta LT
Sick vid! :)
What’s the name of the hut?
Oh, you dont forget your whistle because its attached to the safest spot possible
Which model of pants split?
The Sabre pants. The staff said they had never seen it happen before so either I have a really deep lunge or it was just a fluke episode.
What about the pants?
Got new ones! Spoke to Arcteryx HQ and after some manuevering allowed me to get the bib pants and pay the difference. Verrrrrry happy with the bibs and glad it all worked out in the end.
Moves Media sweet! My Arcteryx pants are killer, but $$$
Hiked in gas station wood 😂 should have brought a saw
It's a little tricky in the thick of winter to go hacking wet, frozen trees! Gotta maximize time to go skiing!

Is the cabin public or is it privately owned.
