    Don't forget about the Reverse Throne Rush! The Ultimate meme strategy. Wish for doom horror. Send it to nearest enemy throne. Pop it. Repeat.
    Warning! Will result in Pretender Death a lot of the time.

    Great video even if I'm catching it a little late, by the way it appears to me as the second in the playlist.
    Good luck with the game

    Man, i love your chanel
    I acknowledged New Winter games by Coquest of Alysium 5 and i loved the game.
    After looking for games on Steam, i found Dominions 6. This game interested me a lot, but when i whatched some videos, i saw how complicated it was when comparing with COE5.
    But now, after whaching your videos, a i saw that isnt as hard as i thought.
    I will buy the game when it be on sale

    Formation Fighter increases the effective size of the square for squares with just those units: thus FF2 makes for size12 squares that can hold 4 of the size 3s.

      That’s right, I’d forgotten how many exactly for formation 2

    Im looking forward to the series. Pearl cultivation sounds like such a abusable mechanic and it’s going to be very cool discovering all the degenerate things you can do.

      I’ll update with the next several turns soon, however upon expanding a bit I realized I’m not actually connected to the ocean but just stuck in a 3-tile lake which sucks since it totally negates my aquatic only sacreds or my ability to properly contest the ocean. I do have some safety I guess since it’s harder to attack me but still not ideal.

    I think lost land might make a big difference for aquatic nations in the lategame. If you can wish farm like 400 earth gems you might be able to lock land nations out of a win depending on the throne settings and placement just by flooding the thrones…

    A very interesting nation. Usually just see it get dismissed as trash.

      It’s definitely better in Dom6 simply because they made Therodos way worse. For UW I’d say it and Oceania are about equal, with Oceania stronger early game and Pelagia stronger late game.

    You are overcounting the adept researcher. The research that the card/explorer shows already includes the adept researcher (but not magic or exp changes). So a typical 2 path mage like the Pelagian Explorer or the Ichtyid Pearl Mage or the Pelagian Mermage would have research of 9 (the formula is 5 + 2 per non-holy magic path so 2 paths is 9, if you get a random bonus path they'd go up more). The Pelagian Explorer has adept 2 so they get research 11 (9+2 = 11, not 13, no double count). The Ichtyid Pearl Mage has inept reasearcher of -2 so they get research 7 (9-2 = 7, but not 5, it isn't a double count). The Pelagian Mermage has neither adept or inept so they stay at 9 as the research.

    • @CairnEnjoyer
      @CairnEnjoyer  Місяць тому +1

      I realized this later but you’re correct, still they are excellent cheap researchers and still important to mass produce or consider high magic scales. If you take a M-scale god like Old Man of the Sea you can get 14R which is still very high for a cheap mage

    • @michaelbodell7740
      @michaelbodell7740 Місяць тому

      Also, if you are pricing out researchers it is worth noting the sacred versus non-sacred mage because upkeep is an important part of a research core since they rate to stay alive for several years so the upfront cost is only part of the cost. Additionally, obviously, it is worth thinking about how good your research monkeys are at other tasks (forging, site searching, entering battles) and things like astral are good as then you have communion slaves, and for under water water is a good path obviously to be able to do the various water things.

    • @CairnEnjoyer
      @CairnEnjoyer  Місяць тому

      Issue is Pelagia has no sacred mages aside from pearl kings so upkeep is always an issue into the late game. The Explorers are a big upgrade on the mermage since they at least have a chance of astral magic.

      @xeroprotagonist Місяць тому +1

      @@CairnEnjoyer is it still the case in D6 that you can potentially get rid of upkeep on nature mages with Transformation? I'd think that'd break a lot of restrictions for you, if you got a Pearl Mage onto land with a Shamblerskin Armor and then handed them a Thistle Mace and Transformed them into an upkeep-free non-aquatic chassis. You could get a bunch of random extra magic paths out of it to increase your path diversity and with EA Pelagia you can wish for a healer unit to cure any of your mages that get turned into feebleminded foulspawn.

    • @CairnEnjoyer
      @CairnEnjoyer  Місяць тому

      This can work but you have to think if the investment is worthwhile, nature gems are not that vital for Pelagia anyway so maybe if you have a lot of them you can transform a few pearl mages

  • @Asgoritolin

    Great guide, been playing ma pelagia but i'm not kinda sure what are you even supposed to wish for aside from gems.

    • @CairnEnjoyer
      @CairnEnjoyer  Місяць тому

      Powerful heroes or artifacts are a good choice, as are doom horrors for some memes. You can also wish to kill an enemy God and possibly take down their globals in doing so. Unironically wishing for Armageddon can be good sometimes if you have a plan to cope with the effects somehow.

  • @Asgoritolin
    @Asgoritolin Місяць тому +1

    If your pretender is S7 but has no head slot, how do you get to S9 to cast wish?
    Empowerment?

    • @CairnEnjoyer
      @CairnEnjoyer  Місяць тому +1

      Coin of meteoric iron and one of the magic rings like ring of sorcery which comes at the same level as Starshine skullcap and the high pearl cost is a non-issue for Pelagia. It only requires S6 to forge as well which my God can do even with inept smith -1

    So map dependent as if several seas rather than ocean unit logistics awful & bad against deep sea aquatic as no non bless llv.
    How about dormant old man of sea (cheap paths) with spirit sight and death commander access e.g. Kok conjuration + chill bless/reinvig maybe (& the astral/ earth as recommended).

    • @CairnEnjoyer
      @CairnEnjoyer  Місяць тому +1

      It really is, somewhat more so that R’lyeh even. In the current game I’m playing I got a bad spawn and that alone pretty much makes 90% of the nation roster useless until I can get some pretty high magic research to gateway them out to the sea.

    • @andrewcole4843
      @andrewcole4843 Місяць тому +1

      @@CairnEnjoyer Indeed not worth playing if map does not give a decent Ocean spawn (as need to invest in a bless for deep seas if opposed) and even then really needs the Titan to get the magic and on land quick enough. Whole idea of water and cap only sacreds a bit daft. Really need a "poor airbreather" non raiding and slow move tag that only works on coastal "rivers" and perhaps allow Pretenders that can take armies undersea to also move underwater armies with same severe restrictions.

    • @CairnEnjoyer
      @CairnEnjoyer  Місяць тому +1

      The biggest issue is there is no option to move aquatic units on land at all, no pretenders or spells or special items which is really annoying.
