Opening scene from the Grand Opera, The Abduction of Figaro. Composed by P.D.Q. Bach (1807-1742)? Buy this wonderful opera at www.schickele.com/shoppe/figa....
There is the entire opera, which is available on DVD at www.schickele.com/shoppe/figarodvd.htm. I had posted other clips from this wonderful opera, but somebody felt it was in their best emotional interest to report me, so they got pulled.
I am going to buy it ... for I can not understand if the Susanna says "Ach (ohime) he will die ..." doctor: "If he does not get rest!" or if she sings "Hooray, he will die ..."
@@Kawdek :: What are they singing before "if he don't get rest" -- that is what I can't hear and do therefore not get quite right -- however, that did not spoil all the fun of this lovely opera :)

"Oh Susannah! Won't you cry......." "Oh Susannah........." One of the greatest counterpoint joke I've ever heard on a popular song.
"He tried to speak!"
"I'm sure you mean, He tried to sing!"
LOL
best opening lines to an opera... ever!
I haven't seen this in years......ONE OF THE GREATEST!!!!! LOL
This is great!
@schlepporello It's the Orpheum in Minneapolis.
Thanks for posting. Loved this when PBS aired it.
The tenor is Bruce Edwin Ford,the great rossinian tenor.
Yeah. He’s pretty good.
Hahahahahaha~A simply grand opera indeed.:)
It was performed in April of 1984.
That makes it classical ,by 20222 standards.
40 years ago. I was a child when I first saw it.
I'm going, going, going... :^D
So why don't you get going????!!!

Is this the famous Quiet chorus? (sort like the humming chorus only quieter...)

Yes, I know. I gave the SECOND line. You were supposed to respond, "Found a peanut right here!"
@Maestrojosh87
*engages in group hugs at the news*
i expected figaro to ask where his peanuts went
@tonywrestles2 ....the first line
@tonywrestles2 In the pocket of his pajamas!
Now I think that might explain
Why I could not detect a heartbeat.

Doesn’t sound remotely close to anything here. What timestamp are you referring to?
@@Kawdek it's just fun, observing that I can not hear/understand the words.
@@dibaldgyfm9933 But what time is the part you’re having trouble understanding?
