After seeing some of those punishments, I hope social services got involved.
Some of those "punishments" are at least one of torture, child abuse or child endangerment, or a combination of them. And that's not including those that could result in actually murdering their child (like the "locked outside in the snow", "making somebody with a peanut allergy eat peanut butter" or "burying alive" triumvirate).

One time when I was 14 my dad tried using my belt but I wasn't going to put up with it. I rushed to my room, grabbed my biggest knife, a modified nerf gun with thumb tack darts, a small BB-Gun, my football helmet, and some makeshift pepper spray just in case. My dad took one look at me, sighed, and decided that he was no match for me. I'm 16 now and my dad is still scared of punishing me.
