Less than an inch in height, this molded, high-impact copolymer shingle-over ridge vent permits capping of the ridge with shingles like the rest of the roof.
CertainTeed Ridge Vent combined with sufficient intake vents, such as CertainTeed Intake Vent, are the most efficient and effective systems you can install.

T-shaped roofs: Due to pitch, ridge vent should be miter cut at 45 degrees in plan view otherwise it won't lay flat.
RE: Old Cap Shingles Removal:
Say no to 50/50. Why? the building is better off with slight positive pressure [a few pascals] in an attic. Go 60/40 [eaves vs ridge]. There is both a very slight difference of air density on account of elevation differential, plus hot air both wants to rise and expand, gaining some velocity. Go look at a set of cylinder heads for an example of proof of concept: intake valve is big, exhaust is small - its worked well for almost a century. You get a little extra help keeping sheathing dry if minor moisture ingress exists, plus it assists against negative ventilation issues inside, which would add to aircon bills and humidity control problems.

over driven nailing in ridge vents must be what often causes them to look so freakin bad as they appear wavy and buckle as mentioned in the vid... maybe its the nailing guns... it would seem hand nailing these carefully would give the better result

Hello, just had my roof re-shingled, should the ridge vent itself always be completely flush against the shingles or is there some allowance for gap variances? I'm assuming the nail(s) penetrated the roof. Since, its not flush. I can see a part of nail between the top of the shingle and the bottom of the ridge vent. I cannot truly say how much of a gap. Took a pic of it from the edge of my roof top of a ladder and was straining to see it. I'm not to anxious to get on the roof. And this is not just one nail, it looks that way pretty much throughout the ridge vent(s).
Is ridge better than turbine?
Most instructions for these type of ridges show caulking applied to the outer edge of unit. Yet, I never see a single video where someone does this.......?????

that's going to leak, unless you seal the entire length of the sides of the vent, with sealer, like this fella does
