The idea was to provide you with a well sorted 2WD for the Vintage Bash. A friend local to me offered me his Losi XX buggy which came with a handful of spares. His car was 'as came from the race track' so it required a full rebuild (which I did) and sourced a few more items for you such as wheels, tyres, Body and wing plus also a brushless ESC and servo for the steering. Sadly that servo was discovered to have a few gremlins. Fortunately you had a nib one to spare which went in to replace the faulty item. The XX was ofcourse a gift which didn't require much fooling with (or painting) which free'd us up to work on your other cars. I'm looking forward to seeing how you go with the TRX-1 car. These only ever came with white plastic parts and over time these have proven to be fragile. Traxxas made subsequent models over the years with the same or similar black plastic parts and this is what TRX-1 owners have substituted in as replacement for the fragile white bits. The top layshaft gear certainly offered me trouble at this years event and Richard informed me there was a replacement part in metal available from Traxxas but also from the brand 'HSP' - part #2794. Where mine failed was not a bearing but the roll pin on the layshaft which seemed to work its fitment in the plastic gear loose which ultimately worsened and ended up chewing out the inside of that plastic gear until the plastic melted with all the friction and the transmission stopped working all together. Such a pain but that's racing for you- LOL!

Really awesome haul and they are some great editions to the collection. I would leave the Storm the way it is, it has a sotry behind it and that always adds more value to them for me. The Losi is super awesome, I really wish they would get the head out of their rear and make some re-re kits that are not minis but it doesn't look like we are going to see that. I am glad you had such a great trip and were able to bring back some very cool souvenirs!!

Wow my eyes were popping when you opened up that box.. 😮 so you’re the person scouring the internet for all kinds of parts for the 94 and MX4 too! I have an empty wallet because of buying all these separate parts from buyee and ebay.. 😂 If you’re done and have parts leftover I’d love to buy some of you 👊🏻

The trx is one car thats very thin on the ground over here, i know a few people who run them at revival and next year i will have a good look at them 👍 you know i love the storm, if one pops up and i can afford it. Im snapping it right up 😁 great insight into your trip down under. Hopefully in a few years i’ll be able to get there for the bash and may pop into see the eldest as she has now moved there. Like you say, its deffo worth the 24hour flight 👍
