Marcus. I used to go to Porthcawl to stay with my Grandma in early fifties. I think the Quarry you are talking about did some blasting and a Stone smashed through the roof of the bungalow of my Grandma a few years earlier. The bungalow was between Newton and Nottage, It was a long way from the Quarry.

Hello from the States. Enjoy your walk videos. You have no idea how much I want to do these walks someday. I would like to do many walks throughout Great Britain and Ireland I also enjoy Tony Robinson’s walking thru history. Stay safe, be well and keep walking.

Hi, we love visiting America but understand how interesting and old Britain must seem to American visitors. Living here, we can take it for granted. Hope you get to visit soon.

Another great walk. Loved the fact that you had no plan. I had never heard of the Stormy Down memorial, so you have added yet another place to my list of places to visit. With spring on the way (even though it does not feel like it yet) I am looking forward to more "Marcus Walks". Well done.

Strange that you made no mention of the garish memorial grave to the pioneer of the 1980s New Romantic movement, Steve Strange.
