About to become corrupted, Leo called out to Mikey and Donnie that Raph is struggling for their sake so they are to struggle for his sake in turn. Soon, they begin to glow. focusing all their love and strength and the brothers manage to get free and got their Hamato Ninpō back.

basically, splinter aka hamato yoshi comes from a long line of mystic warriors who were trained to fight the shredder when he came back, the turtles got their mystic powers (ninpo) from those ancestors.
