I did the same thing! A couple of years ago, I had to go back to a ride because my band had popped off. Luckily, they found it! That night I stopped at a drug store and purchased a small bag of tiny clear elastic hair ties. They worked wonderfully. Once, I even found my band had popped loose again, but the hair band kept it together and on my arm! Inexpensive insurance! I usually use two of the bands, as they are so tiny and clear (and almost invisible).

Oh the tiny hairbands! What a great idea, thanks! You know, I actually did lose my magic band on a trip after we made this video, and what’s worse we were in on our way out. However, I filed a lost item claim and it got found, so Disneyland sent it to our house for free! Still inconvenient, so I’m going to make sure I have some of those hairbands with me next time.

Thanks for sharing the rubber band tip, it's a great idea and I never would have thought of that.

This is the wife 😀 Turns out removing backpacks is the problem so being careful there will help. The magicband got found and they are sending it back.

You know this bands are tracking devices, use to let security know where you are and what you are saying during your stay.

Hi Jess, thanks for commenting. Magic bands have two technologies that can be used to track. One is a very short range RFID, similar to the little chip you have in a credit card for tap pay. The only way this shows where you are is if you have it scanned for things like park entrance, lightning lane, using it to pay for things at the cashier instead of your card or phone, and the bounty hunters game. The second is Bluetooth, which is longer range, but still only a few feet, like when the band lights up at a ride or show, or you interact with a statue. These are too imprecise for security, but the parks can track how crowded an area is and if you were on a ride or near one of their bluetooth stations. There is no GPS in the bands and no microphones, so they can’t know exactly where you are or hear you. I hope that clears things up! Maybe we should do a tear down of one like in our spider-bots video. Cheers! Ami
