The holes in the coke bottle cap could be home made salt n pepper shakers. Also, some women would use them as a shaker sprinkler that they would use while ironing! Thanks for the great memories!
If there`s any old dairy farms around where you`re at, you would likely find bottle dumps with old milk bottles in them. You can still find the middens, if there`s been no excavating. They still form little hills after more than 100 years. The farmers used to just throw the broken bottles in their wagons and cart them out to the edges of fields where their cows wouldn`t step on them. I used to find one intact milk for every 20-30 broken ones. I would sell them for $3-$5 each in the want ads (back when there were still want ads in the local newspapers). Thanks for the videos! Brings back memories.
I was metal detecting an old church camp in west Auburn, Wash. and found a kids treasure trove. A half dozen marbles, plastic toys with the axles rusted off and a hand full of pocket change. The dates on the coins were all in the 1950's.
that bottle with the cap with two holes was used to dampen clothes to iron in the old days of washing clothes. they would put water or starch water in it.
When I was kid we used to look on the bottom of the bottles to see where they were originally filled at. Whoever had the one with the furthest city was the winner.( didn't actually win anything but it was fun to play.)
Thank you, MIchael and very nice commercial for audible. Love the bottles, even Milk of Magnesia bottles, as common as they were, are not so common anymore. I would gather them all. I love the blue. Congrats and all you do and I hope to see you mudlarking on the Thames one day soon, again!
Michael I love your videos been a fan since 2012-2013 you’ve never let me down and I hope that the lord watch over us all through tough times and keep us all safe
The bottle with the cap on it....we used to punch nail holes in it to drink through, it was "The Thing" to do back then...lol! Those blue bottles are collectibles, doesn't matter if they are medicine or whatever they were used for.
I bet there are some fantastic bottles buried there! A full Demijohn would be a terrific find for you, (a perfect coin holder/bank for all of your coin finds)
That was fun to watch! I have a creek not far from my house I went for the first time and found some old medicine bottles, cork tops, and a few others. I also found 1 marble bright yellow and a silver spoon sticking out of the bank. I am going again here soon! You have taught me so much Nugget! Especially with my detecting! I even bought a magnet. There are some old wells around here. Every day is such a adventure and I love it! Wishing you a great weekend✌️
Wow looks like you hit the jackpot of bottles! I would go nuts. Piling all the whole bottles on one pile and broken on another, makes you wonder just how many bottles are in there! Great video! Great finds! ☺
Thank you for making this video great work finding so many cool bottles take care keep up the great work. God bless you and your family and friends peace be with you all.
Bottles bottles everywhere, & let's not forget marbles, that vase would have been even more beautiful if it were complete, that was something finding your water bottle after all that time. Have a great day, God bless
I used to watch you about 6 years ago. I made a new UA-cam account and I forgot all of my favorite UA-camrs "Which you are and were" When I came back I will be honest I burst in tears because I used to watch years and years ago and I couldn't believe I forgot about you. I love you man! I subscribed with notifications on. At least I get to binge watch your videos now ;)
Hey nugget yesterday I went detecting and found a huuuge ox chain link(or horse) for logging, it is like 4×12 inches and the steel is like 2 inches thick! My town was a logging town in the 1800s and I'm pretty sure that's where it came from. Also I found my first railroad spike that is perfectly straight and in 1 peice. Will be detecting there again because there acres on acres of land to detect.
Another great adventure and video, Nugget. I love those blue bottles. I find it interesting that people once had bottle dumps. One would think that the bottles would have been discarded with the rest of the trash instead of in a special area. God bless, Nugget.
The little blue bottle is very nice , the Coke D bottles are pretty cool , I wonder how many variations of coke bottles were made ? Great video Nugget . Cheers
Just randomly found you surfing through the thousand's of UA-cam video's out there on the web, awesome job on hunting for relics as I'm watching your video's I really dont want them to end when night time comes. I was thinking if I where this guy I would camp out and continue on the next day, especially on the river episode's. Well happy hunting!!!😎
Well I said it before and I'll say it again you're so blessed to find that bottle of water that you lost three years ago all the other times are awesome you stay blessed and I'll see you on the next one
In reference to the coke bottle with the holes in the bottle cap, my grandmother used to sprinkle her laundry with water before she ironed it. Lots of ladies had laundry sprinklers that were ceramic figurines with a "salt shaker" top. If you google "coke bottle laundry sprinkler", you'll see that you could get little toppers with holes in them that fit a coke bottle. Maybe some lady made her own out of that bottle you found. Or maybe a guy did that to sprinkle water on his grill when the fire kicked up a bit.
I found a 1908 Lydia Pinkam's milk of magnesia bottle in a ditch the county had just dug out and it was all opal colored inside. I still have that one too. It was a cork top with the date impressed on it.
Great video! I've been watching for years now as well. More bottle dump videos like this one please! These are my favorite, along with the river hunts. Where is the verse in this video?
You should have pulled an aquachigger and drank the water. lol. Great finds. I love these types of dumps where you never know what you will find. God bless.
Haha too funny about your water bottle. I had a similar experience being surprised coming across a hand shovel in the middle of the woods that I realized was mine that I lost a couple years before haha
My Uncle used to work for the Coca-Cola company back when I was a little kid. When they would get to the end of a run they would bottle whatever drink they had left into whatever bottles they had. You only knew what was inside by the bottle cap. We would take the ones with Tab in them and poke holes in the bottle cap with a ice pick. Then put our fingers over the holes, shake it up and then have "soda wars" spraying each other with the nasty TAB soda.
I can't believe you left all those blue bottles there. I love the cobalt blue bottles. Especially the little ones. That purple stained one was cool too.
There was a gas station near Gatlinburg when I was a kid that had a trained bear. It would drink Dutch chocolate drinks from the drink machine. You'd buy them then give them to the handler. He'd punch a hole in the cap with an ice pick and give it to the bear to drink. The entertainment was watching the bear drink these. Maybe there is a bear that drank Cokes near there!
If you haven't already seen their videos, check out Adventure Archaeology. They do a lot of bottle digging, serious bottle digging. Love your videos and appreciate all your hard work to give us something to watch. Thank you and God bless!!

Love watching you. The coke bottle with the holes in the cap were used to shake water onto the clothes when ironing.
Awesome, thanks for sharing the info!
@@nuggetnoggin Jodi Hepler I was just getting ready to put the same comment. lol my mom use to us them for that.
Yeah. I remember my mother using one when ironing.
Yes! my mom used to do that
Lol.. you are the only guy i know who is getting real excited about a old broken padlock.... keep up the good work and god bless.
When was a kid in the 1960s, we used to punch holes in the top of sodas and drink them slowly like that. I don't know why we did that, but we did.

Seen restaurants use them as salt and pepper shakers too.
@@SorePaws_ yes and no. needs more holes in cap. grandma used a ketchup bottle when i was a kid.

Gr8 finds! Always check the bottoms of coke bottles because they have the name of the town they were bottled in, SOME small towns are very rare!

Oh dear, I’m a sucker for cute old bottles. I enjoyed this treasure hunt.
Talkin' about a target rich environment!!! WOW! Sweeeeet!
When we were little we used those marbles with a slingshot to break bottles and cans we collected.
You did a great job on the ad! It was the first ad I did not mind watching.

Best you can do is start looking for creeks and rivers, and start walking. Good luck!

6:00 The holes in the coke bottle cap were used to sprinkle on Ironing prior to steam irons being made.
That boy sure did get excited about a simple padlock!
Back in the day they used to add bluing to wash water before adding whites.
Bluing came in glass bottles and would stain them as well.
Haha too funny about your water bottle. I had a similar experience being surprised coming across a hand shovel in the middle of the woods that I realized was mine that I lost a couple years before haha

They punched those holes in the cap of that coke bottle cap to use it as a salt or pepper shaker. My grandmother had some like that.
It very well could of been. Thanks for watching!
Nugget, I was hunting an old logging camp about a 1/4 mile from my house and found a small cobalt blue bottle next to a small stream. I still have it.
I can't believe you left all those blue bottles there. I love the cobalt blue bottles. Especially the little ones. That purple stained one was cool too.
Yeah they are nice! I took about 10 but left all those others lol. It’s a long walk back so you have to limit yourself
