- Episode 2443: The New Uzbekistan - Economy and Investment
This week on THIS IS AMERICA & THE WORLD, Dennis Wholey is on location in Uzbekistan to explore the ways in which Uzbekistan has developed its economy since achieving Independence 30 years ago and its recent steps to establish itself as an economic presence in the Central Asian region. While in the Uzbek cities of Tashkent and Fergana, Dennis visits American and Uzbek companies that are modernizing the growth of regional crops, creating jobs and expanding the economic development of the country. The Governor of the Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, discusses the varied economic opportunities in the region; and in Washington, Carolyn Lamm of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce, shares her experience working with companies who express investment interest in Uzbekistan.
Thank you for covering Uzbekistan.
Greetings to Uzbakistan, I love Samarkand, and Bukhara city 😍
Interesting speakers and good projects and directions! Thanks Dennis Wholey for the interview!
I have fallen in love with Uzbekistan even more ❤
I'm really interested in the central Asia region. Geopolitical analysts say good things about their location, demographics, and future growth. I think the "online economy" with digital services area will fit right into a country which may not demand such high costs as western countries while also creating an outlet for "exports" without worrying about having access to domestic maritime ports.
Thanks brother. I started watching videos about Gulnara Karimova, now I'm on an Uzbekistan marathon. Virtually zero content regarding economics and business in Uzbekistan. Most content is about its challenging borders/geography, corruption of the previous president, and political struggles. (Exclusively negative) Content like this needs to be propagated more.
