Hi, @misstasha1, thanks for asking your question. I'm wondering how you might think about inviting them to assist you with the task (instead of you assisting them). Here's are some videos that might help (www.youtube.com/@teepasnowvideos/search?query=toileting) you find some ways to do it. I also wonder if you might be interested in learning more about our approach to connection and then the task through our Champion Days (teepasnow.com/resources/for-professionals/#knowledge). If you still have questions, please email info@teepasnow.com or call 1-877-877-1671.
I have a gal that hits any time you tell her no or when you need to do care with her. The staff has a hard time pinpointing a time of the day that is better for her as it seems to go on throughout the day.
Hi, @christinaspartz9285, it sounds like your team is having some trouble - I wonder if you ever think about why this gal responds so strongly to no or care. Could it be that folks are not waiting for a response from her before moving forward or something else? You might want to check out this video (ua-cam.com/video/PutOCW-FEAk/v-deo.html) or maybe this one (ua-cam.com/video/Lt8bALegbf0/v-deo.html). Maybe, you would like to check out our free (for the first year) training videos (shop.teepasnow.com/product/teepas-online-learning-introduction-to-dementia-package/) that may also help. Please keep trying!
Good Morning Teepa and Greg. How do I encourage a resident to allow me to assist them with toileting every 2 hours?
