One thing I hope brands understand is the huge value "well-informed enthusiast" content creators bring. I wish every single industry had a VF&M! Here's where I admit I'm not a collector. I'm an average consumer with an average number of fans in my house. I originally came to this channel to see a video of a fan I was interested in purchasing in motion. VF&M helped me to understand what fan features existed, what style choices and materials to pay attention to, which of those would be important to me, and why there are differences between a $100 fan and a $1000 fan. Lighting stores can be an overwhelming experience and salespeople really vary in their knowledge. "Informed enthusiasts" help to reach consumers who are **already interested in purchasing**. There aren't many creators, because I am sure it's super expensive to purchase more products than for daily home use and a lot of work to make detailed high quality videos. So, I hope brands continue to recognize and support independent creators focused on their industry. And it's *really really cool* (and hard to find!) seeing videos about what new and interesting products are coming out!

To your point, lighting showrooms are a fantastic source of knowledge and expertise; I absolutely LOVE my friends in that space and we piggyback each other a lot, but unless it's a more dedicated fan-focused store, they are often not very experiential in terms of the fan products. Even the most-experienced showroom staff cannot speak to the nuances of airflow and design that they have not experienced firsthand, and that's where I really hope to bridge a gap. It's always the total package for me. I bring in and present the best aspects of the best product lines who are willing to work with me, so around here you're only going to see great things with no exception. I always want that to be what sets this place apart. Thank you for this!

Some WONDERFUL intros this year! Of course, just as thoughtful and amazingly executed as the new fans, was your video! Seriously wonderful work! I thought I had seen just about all of the new things but those new Casablancas shocked me! What seriously irritates me is that they weren't even featured in the new catalog! The best intro we have had since 2017 and no mention in the catalog or the website. They website, of course is subject to change but the catalog seems set in stone. Anything you heard about them? Maybe an intro for a later time? I am also LOVING the Carro line expansion. The Quorum brands smashed it out of the park this year! The new Hinkley fans were just amazing, the Atticus seriously takes me back to the BlenderFan, the Oliver is a form of fan that I just never get tired of. Progress seriously changed the game with the Oscillar series is a game changer for that type of fandelier! The other designs are also great, especially the Insigna. Kuzco made me so happy when they dropped these new fans. I was honestly expecting the line of fans to go stale for a year before adding new designs. I am all for this constant updating of the line! Where to begin with Fanimation! My favorite intro in YEARS! While some designs are takes on others, I am of course mainly referring to the Breece. They still look superb. The Paget being referred to as a “return to the tropics” is just amazing. Lots of nostalgia with many fans and introductions this year. Whatever those new Matthews/Atlas fans are, I LOVE! I was not expecting this from them but they have crushed it! Now if we could get other blade shapes/designs. Or they already exist and they weren't shown. Modern Forms did great by expanding the Aura collection and the Spinster really reminds me of a Haiku but in my opinion, way better. Other brands like Craftmade, Minka, etc. did some cool stuff too. This year has gotten off to a wonderful start and I cannot wait to see where it goes!
It was a big launch year for most brands it seems. So incredibly much to see. I didn't get much info at Hunter/Casablanca. My usual people were not present any of the times I went through, and the couple conversations with passive acquaintances were on other tangents. I assume they're maybe just a preview. Maybe feeling out interest in the line again? I'm meaning to get in contact now because obviously Casablanca has been a special line for me through the years and I want to bring something in, so hopefully I'll know more soon. I did love that "return to the tropics" line from Fanimation. It's cool when they're able to really bring it back around to their origins. This is only the beginning for Matthews-Atlas. BIG visions ahead. I'm obsessed with the Spinster in that white/black combo. It's definitely Haiku vibes with that blade shape, but 100% original in its own right and a really fantastic look. I'm getting pretty impressed with Craftmade's developments in several areas (they're creeping up on Maxim in the fandelier category), and Minka always does their thing. Both passive-aggressively interact with me on IG but continue to ignore my attempts to make real contact. 😂
@@vfandm Definitely a big year! Last year was slower so I am not surprised a lot of companies sprung back. They usually do. I am excited to find out more on the Casablanca expansion. These new fans are the first intros in awhile that really bring that Casablanca feeling that we have been missing, an upgraded, high quality piece. The past fans have felt a little too “Hunter” to me. I of course, expect it with the fans being made by the same factory but they can do a lot to individualize. I am glad to hear that Matthews-Atlas has more plans! I was just chatting with a friend in the business about how I would like some more design ranges from them. The different forms of carved wood blades have been really cool to see develop over the years from the Irene but they are definitely capable of more. I am excited to begin being able to suggest the products for more spaces now! The 2 fans I saw really hit a spot they haven’t checked before. Black and white is a combo I want to see more of outside of custom fans. It is just perfect! My best way to describe Craftmade over the last few years is a ticking time bomb. But not a bad one. What I have seen is lots of potential and over the last year, they exploded with 4 separate sets of intros and tons of super cool and unique stuff. I am excited to see the quality on those fandeliers. Maxim has been a favorite lighting brand for awhile and they don’t usually mess around with quality. wooooow every lighting and fan companies look phenomenal but my favorite is definitely casablanca hunter fanimation and many other brands my dans fans city favorites are gulf coast tropsoair they never disappoint
Had a great time touring all the brands with you this year, hopefully I have time to edit and upload my video of market this year. Wonderful editing and camerawork, I assume you used a camera and some kind of tripod? I guess it was done when I had to be at work, lol!
Used my good camera and a new gimbal, yes while you were working lol. I’ve used a gimbal with my phone the past few times I’ve gone so I’m familiar with the dynamics, but this was a different level that will take some getting used to, thus why it didn’t turn into the concept I wanted it to be. Now I know better what I need to focus on next time. But there were some really great individual shots to pull from it all.
Canon EOS M50. I've liked using it as long as I've had it. Relatively affordable, great features and versatility between photos and video on a single device, all in a smaller package. Great camera for this kind of purpose, quality video on the go without hauling ridiculous equipment. Has its limitations, of course, but it's done very well for me.
