How to draw illuminated letter A | Medieval Illuminated manuscript tutorial with watercolor pencils

    In today's video you will learn how to make an illumination of capital letter A in the style of Medieval manuscripts. It is a step by step guided tutorial showing the whole process from start to finish. There are also some interesting facts and historical information about how illuminated manuscripts were created.
    This illumination features three main colors (yellow, red, blue), a miniature painting of scholar, Medieval style botanical pattern for backgrounds.
    Traditional manuscript illumination requires expensive materials such as vellum or parchment paper. However, you can achieve similar look using cheaper art supplies: ink pens, watercolor pencils, colored pencils and white gel pen.
