To me every cod is really the same o thing over and over again. The differences aren't significant to me. Cod is just plain cod and once you're done with cod you're done with cod. Aint no number or variant going to change that.

Well here's an older guy's take, who stopped playing around Black Ops 2 and is coming into newer Call of Duty games completely fresh. Took me about 5-10 minutes to get used to the movement and another 5-10 to get used to the newer COD recoil physics. After all that, it is very satisfying to play just casually, I don't take myself seriously now that I'm older. Also, the Campaign is pretty good. Not the best, but definitely not the worst. Some of the interesting mechanics they implemented in the campaign definitely was a breath of fresh air compared to the much older games, of course I really shouldn't be surprised by that. Overall, it's nice to be back after 10+ years.
It’s so refreshing to see an actual fair and truthful comment that acknowledges both the good and bad in the game and doesn’t just bash the game because it has Call of Duty in its title unlike a lot of these other people who didn’t even try out the free beta and have seen like only one UA-cam video on the game of someone having a bad match.

There's no way the cod devs aren't some of the most crunched devs in the industry man, just the amount of post launch content is wild. I'm assuming you've never tried mapping before for example, because the amount of man hours used on each one of the like 3 maps they release every 2 months must be staggering. I also know that their level designers are required to have extensive scripting knowledge, since the campaign isn't some open world unscripted affair, all the complex setpieces are built custom for every level. Even their gun animations are industry leading, ever since they hired all the best industry talent for mw19. Once again, they release a couple of guns every season. Finally, even if I find the skins ugly as hell, it doesn't change the fact that they are releasing a couple of extremely high fidelity skins every week. I'll be charitable and assume you mean it must be easy to be the project lead, since there is less thought put into the initial drawing up of the formula, they aren't having to come up with a whole new innovative game concept every time. Though, once again, there is some nuance to that as well, since the community is extremely sensitive to how well those initial decisions were mad, for example see how mw2 (the 2022 reboot) shot itself in the foot, despite all the polish it had, with decisions around the pace of the game and spawn logic, so once again, not really the easiest job. Personally tired of SBMM being so ramped up on multiplayer. I don't like feeling like I'm in a MLG COD tournament. I want to play, but if I'm not having fun what's the point? We need a ranked mode with SBMM and a casual mode with ping based match making. or at least a much wider field for the SBMM so it's not so sweaty. I don't want to use "meta" guns all the time, I just want to talk to my friends and play, like it was for years.
SBMM should actually benefit casual play. Obviously you don’t get idiots just running around not understanding how the game works like you used to, but you get matched up with people roughly at your skill level. At least in my experience if I take it easy for a few games I get into more casual lobbies. I will agree with you on ping based matchmaking though. I’d rather be in a lobby full of sweats with sub-20ms ping than in easy lobbies with lag. I don’t mind dying due to my lack of ability, but “packet burst” every few seconds ruins the fun completely.
I stopped playing multi-player shooters 10 years ago because everyone was so competitive and I couldn't just have fun. Not sure what the solution would be, because good players who feel like dominating noobs would go to the unranked/casual.
My issue is that its too strong. I am only very new to this series and started playing it yesterday, and I had two good games, and then all of a sudden i was put into the sweatiest games ive ever seen against people with gold weapons 24 hours after the game came out lol.
I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I actually liked a lot of the changes WZ2 had at launch. There were missteps for sure with the bots and the looting being clunky, but I liked the slower pacing and higher emphasis on looting. The community tore the game apart until the devs caved in, and now WZ is just a large-scale TDM.

indeed MW2019 was the best from "new engine" cods. You could win with any gun and loadout possible I miss that time when i can use what ever i like not just meta guns like it was in MW2 at launch. Whole Warzone 2.0 was using only RPD and Vector for half a year straight

This is way better value than MWIII. Its got an actually good campaign and zombies so its back to square one of the typical trio thing going on as old CODs.
I've been sick and felt absolutely awful for the past few days and haven't been well enough to play ANY of BO6 yet. Watching your gameplay, which is always fun, has inspired me to hop into some matches tomorrow no matter how I'm feeling. Love your stuff and appreciate all you do!
BF1 has started lagging for me after the newest update adding anti-cheat... EA messed up the one thing that was perfect... 😢 Also experienced my first crash in this game in like four years...
@@John_3_16 I don't know if you both talk about the same lags, but the lags happening in Jacks video was the typical framrdrops that happen after you play a map the first time. That is why most modern games have these shader compilments when you boot it up the first time and after most updates. BF1 didn't have these so you experience a lag everytime a part of the map loads and caches them. The second time you play on a map you shouldn't have lags anymore.
I’m a regular guy in my mid 30’s who hasn’t played a COD since BO3. On a whim I decided to get B06 and the memories came flooding in immediately. The game plays super fast and the movement takes a few games to get used to, but I’ve had an absolute blast. K/D is in the 1.7’s after all the time off. Don’t listen to either the fan boys or the haters. Listen to yourself
Dude I never been a black ops fan, only played it for zombies and I didn’t Own it. Always went to the homies place to play zombies. I’m a MW og fan so I owned the trilogy but only bought black ops 3 which was okay. And playing this game feels like cod but also doesn’t. The new movement and the way bodies go flying feels like a Tarantino movie with a the blood and ragdolls. It’s so bad ass. Cod really surprised me this year. Btw fuck mw3 lmao I also bought it gg
People ( in the comments... ) take gaming waaay to seriously. BO6 is good, nice graphics, runs like a dream on my series X and is lot of fun. When I need serious I'll boot up Battlefield or some other War Simulator. Get over yourselfs, this is made and mend to have fun.
Thanks for the two bots spectator trick! I always liked exploring outside maps in the old days (CoD4, WaW, etc) but couldn't figure out how to get outside the boundaries in the newerr ones. Would be great to see that Warzone video, and more BO6 gameplay in general; as someone who's skipped more CoDs than I've played, I'm very much enjoying it! The core gameplay is solid, I love the '90s-ish gear, and the maps/visuals/etc are fantastic. :)
There are a lot of PC settings that I changed and the game runs and plays great. Sprint assist, DLSS, HUD… no need to lower the quality drastically and frame rate is good 👍 I’m enjoying it! Some of the maps are great too, esp in certain game modes
I do enjoy this game a lot. Coming from someone who has played every cod every launch. I’m older now so I can appreciate they slowed the movement down from the beta
Actually enjoying this one a lot I haven’t enjoyed any for a LONG time - I think they nailed the physics. Reminds me of that Action Half Life mod but on AAA budget .. the TTK feels just right - everything looks and animates smoother

Haven't played COD for years. Only wanted this for the campaign but somehow I had a good time with the multiplayer especially with that Max Payne like movement, saved me a couple of times from death.
Any chance of the operator skins being client sided so you can disable them? I'd go for a bit of trying the game if that was possible. These skins just drive me up the walls. What happened to good old school type of immersion :/
sadly this isn't quake 3, you cannot turn off textures or force a default skin. I'm sure MS/act/bliz want you to show off your $30 dollar skin to others (maybe to get them to buy them too) to make them say 'wow, that's cool' and buy them, themselves. Reminder, video games is a business, it'll always be about making the most money.
Why do all the recent cod games have bad graphics and UI (mobile game). I played MW19 the other day, the game still looks and feels so good, even the freakin matchmaking screen.

Zombies is crazy fun to me. Not a fan of the zombies story line as it always something you can’t just do with randoms. Multiplayer is wild though, dolphin flapping every step is super funny and people can’t target you easily

So many people praised the first MW2 but true vets know COD 4 was the peak. I stopped playing after first blops came out because I lost interest due to the lack of iteration of the game.

Funny enough. The main reason I quit playing call of duty was because of the goofy skins. People talk bad about call of duty all the time when it's actually decent, but the goofy skins and weapon skins probably drives the hate 10x.
this reminded me of kingslayer trios from warzone 1, which was the most fun i've ever had in a video game :') this ofc doesnt play the same, the ability to parachute onto your enemies was hard to control but insanely fun
The last cod I played was MW2 2022.and I can guarantee this game is completely different to MW2, the phase, TTK, maps and weapons behavior is extremely different

Of the improvements, I think not having to manually interact with the ammo boxes is one of my favorites. It's really annoying, especially on console, to get in the right spot/angle to interact with the box.
@@Voodoo.I have everything maxed out. I feel it is dlss thing. I play at 7680x2160 and I set dlss to balanced. Fps is so low in this game I get around 90-100 with 4090, while in mw3 it was 130-140.
I think maybe for this COD, they should have some game modes that are like the old game modes in COD 2. Sometimes people complain about camping. Sometimes they don't. When COD 2 was the current game, I used to play frequently, I didn't get a lot of kill streaks because I didn't have them set up correctly, but I did get a lot of kills. I was pretty good at the game. But I tried to play extreme. There is no heads up or anything like that. As soon as I entered the game I would crouch down or lie down. I would then sit there for a few minutes looking around without moving. As soon as I would move, I would die. This new game looks pretty good. Very good menu graphics, and also good game graphics. Jack, I don't know if it is because the map is still being worked on. But the game map that you were flying around in was taking awhile to load as you moved around. Maybe your memory is low on capacity or is a little slow. Other than that, the graphics during your game play looked good, you also had good FPS. Hmm
Honestly surprised - fell into the COD hate mentality prior to release with plenty of people I know doing the same. Chose to put that to the side after watching some gameplay and give it a chance and I'm very happy that I did. Have only played multiplayer and zombies so far but great experience with both, finally excited to load up a COD again - and for those saying the graphical changes are minimal or non-existent, that's gotta be an eyes painted on situation because the game is looking beautiful and more advanced than any other previous title. Performance wise, I've had no issues but even if I was, the game has been out for two days...to be expected. To anyone reading this I recommend putting aside old but warranted bias and playing some multiplayer with a fresh lens - you may be pleasantly surprised. FYI I'm an OG COD player that definitely became disenfranchised after BO2, played MW3 but then dropped off - im as surprised I'm making this review as anyone else 😂

I was in high school when MWII (2009) came out, so, as you can imagine, I don't game nearly as much as I used to. It's hard to justify a $60-70 purchase for a single game in a franchise that has released quite a few duds in the last few years. I do have Gamepass though, so I got curious and on Friday night I downloaded the game. I've been playing through the campaign and it's a blast!
And I think that what they're doing with the series is very clever. They've made it so that there's zero reason to buy this game to begin with. The fact that they release a game a year at this point means that they're leaving a massive trail of games that will die just 2-3 years after release because everyone's gone and moved to the next one. They can squeeze more money out of you keeping you subscribed at $20/month for years than if you purchase a $70 game from them every few releases. I know there's a core group that's happy to pay for a game every year (I was one of them ages 13-19), but they can reach way more people if they break from that business model. I know they didn't pioneer this because Fortnite has had great success as a F2P game for years, but the fact that they've managed to transform COD, a franchise that's part of the mid-2000's old guard of gaming, into this new model is pretty impressive from a business and marketing standpoint.
I don't have my Xbox anymore but had my game pass active still I hopped on through cloud gaming on my phone no install and plays pretty smooth saved lots of $$
The multiplayer itself is amazing, feels really good. But sbmm is truly taking away all the fun, it’s just way too much. Every single match feels like a tournament

This is way better value than MWIII. Its got an actually good campaign and zombies so its back to square one of the typical trio thing going on as old CODs.

@@John_3_16 I don't know if you both talk about the same lags, but the lags happening in Jacks video was the typical framrdrops that happen after you play a map the first time. That is why most modern games have these shader compilments when you boot it up the first time and after most updates. BF1 didn't have these so you experience a lag everytime a part of the map loads and caches them. The second time you play on a map you shouldn't have lags anymore.
I’m a regular guy in my mid 30’s who hasn’t played a COD since BO3. On a whim I decided to get B06 and the memories came flooding in immediately. The game plays super fast and the movement takes a few games to get used to, but I’ve had an absolute blast. K/D is in the 1.7’s after all the time off. Don’t listen to either the fan boys or the haters. Listen to yourself

Dude I never been a black ops fan, only played it for zombies and I didn’t Own it. Always went to the homies place to play zombies. I’m a MW og fan so I owned the trilogy but only bought black ops 3 which was okay. And playing this game feels like cod but also doesn’t. The new movement and the way bodies go flying feels like a Tarantino movie with a the blood and ragdolls. It’s so bad ass. Cod really surprised me this year. Btw fuck mw3 lmao I also bought it gg
The game is fun. COD is usually a blast if you're in to shooters. It's the most well-made multiplayer FPS from a software engineering perspective.
I stopped at MW3 and was considering getting the this one.

BO6 feels like a new home since BO2 👌🏼. I love the gameplay, the feeling of every weapon and the response to movement and weapon usage . Great game !

Thanks for the two bots spectator trick! I always liked exploring outside maps in the old days (CoD4, WaW, etc) but couldn't figure out how to get outside the boundaries in the newerr ones. Would be great to see that Warzone video, and more BO6 gameplay in general; as someone who's skipped more CoDs than I've played, I'm very much enjoying it! The core gameplay is solid, I love the '90s-ish gear, and the maps/visuals/etc are fantastic. :)
There are a lot of PC settings that I changed and the game runs and plays great. Sprint assist, DLSS, HUD… no need to lower the quality drastically and frame rate is good 👍 I’m enjoying it! Some of the maps are great too, esp in certain game modes
can u use DLSS??? it switches back constantly to CAS for me...
The automatic performance setting has worked well for me. Sitting around 90% GPU locked at 120FPS.
I haven't played a CoD since MW 2019, and I think it's a ton of mindless fun. Campaign, zombies, and multiplayer are all solid

Actually enjoying this one a lot I haven’t enjoyed any for a LONG time - I think they nailed the physics. Reminds me of that Action Half Life mod but on AAA budget .. the TTK feels just right - everything looks and animates smoother

Haven't played COD for years. Only wanted this for the campaign but somehow I had a good time with the multiplayer especially with that Max Payne like movement, saved me a couple of times from death.
Any chance of the operator skins being client sided so you can disable them?
I'd go for a bit of trying the game if that was possible. These skins just drive me up the walls. What happened to good old school type of immersion :/

sadly this isn't quake 3, you cannot turn off textures or force a default skin. I'm sure MS/act/bliz want you to show off your $30 dollar skin to others (maybe to get them to buy them too) to make them say 'wow, that's cool' and buy them, themselves. Reminder, video games is a business, it'll always be about making the most money.

Why do all the recent cod games have bad graphics and UI (mobile game). I played MW19 the other day, the game still looks and feels so good, even the freakin matchmaking screen.

Sometimes when playing BO6, I’ll get flashbacks to how awesome Pilots vs Pilots was in Titanfall 2, and thus, I’ve been enjoying it so far.
Think it’s one the best since BO2 and the campaign was great especially the surprise in one missions had Silent Hill vibes .

Zombies is crazy fun to me. Not a fan of the zombies story line as it always something you can’t just do with randoms. Multiplayer is wild though, dolphin flapping every step is super funny and people can’t target you easily

So many people praised the first MW2 but true vets know COD 4 was the peak. I stopped playing after first blops came out because I lost interest due to the lack of iteration of the game.
To be fair, that's what it's nice about it. I don't want to play sometime so different that it's not CoD anymore. Same thing, different year, different guns, different story, but same gameplay overall. That's perfect.
back in the days where youd play the game relentlessly to level up or get ur guns gold/diamond or even the tiger camos before that, now kids need bundles and battlepasses to retain their attention to a game smh

Funny enough. The main reason I quit playing call of duty was because of the goofy skins. People talk bad about call of duty all the time when it's actually decent, but the goofy skins and weapon skins probably drives the hate 10x.

Of the improvements, I think not having to manually interact with the ammo boxes is one of my favorites. It's really annoying, especially on console, to get in the right spot/angle to interact with the box.

@@Voodoo.I have everything maxed out. I feel it is dlss thing. I play at 7680x2160 and I set dlss to balanced. Fps is so low in this game I get around 90-100 with 4090, while in mw3 it was 130-140.
I think maybe for this COD, they should have some game modes that are like the old game modes in COD 2. Sometimes people complain about camping. Sometimes they don't. When COD 2 was the current game, I used to play frequently, I didn't get a lot of kill streaks because I didn't have them set up correctly, but I did get a lot of kills. I was pretty good at the game. But I tried to play extreme. There is no heads up or anything like that. As soon as I entered the game I would crouch down or lie down. I would then sit there for a few minutes looking around without moving. As soon as I would move, I would die.
This new game looks pretty good. Very good menu graphics, and also good game graphics.
Jack, I don't know if it is because the map is still being worked on. But the game map that you were flying around in was taking awhile to load as you moved around. Maybe your memory is low on capacity or is a little slow. Other than that, the graphics during your game play looked good, you also had good FPS. Hmm
Honestly surprised - fell into the COD hate mentality prior to release with plenty of people I know doing the same. Chose to put that to the side after watching some gameplay and give it a chance and I'm very happy that I did. Have only played multiplayer and zombies so far but great experience with both, finally excited to load up a COD again - and for those saying the graphical changes are minimal or non-existent, that's gotta be an eyes painted on situation because the game is looking beautiful and more advanced than any other previous title. Performance wise, I've had no issues but even if I was, the game has been out for two days...to be expected. To anyone reading this I recommend putting aside old but warranted bias and playing some multiplayer with a fresh lens - you may be pleasantly surprised. FYI I'm an OG COD player that definitely became disenfranchised after BO2, played MW3 but then dropped off - im as surprised I'm making this review as anyone else 😂
The best looking CoD game to date is MW2019.
But Treyarch has a different art style in general, less realistic, more colourful and arcadey.
I normally dont play COD games but getting it on game pass is just too good of a deal. I had to try it and it is good fun. Totally worth it.

Honestly loving this one definitely the best cod since mw2019.
I was in high school when MWII (2009) came out, so, as you can imagine, I don't game nearly as much as I used to. It's hard to justify a $60-70 purchase for a single game in a franchise that has released quite a few duds in the last few years. I do have Gamepass though, so I got curious and on Friday night I downloaded the game. I've been playing through the campaign and it's a blast!
And I think that what they're doing with the series is very clever. They've made it so that there's zero reason to buy this game to begin with. The fact that they release a game a year at this point means that they're leaving a massive trail of games that will die just 2-3 years after release because everyone's gone and moved to the next one. They can squeeze more money out of you keeping you subscribed at $20/month for years than if you purchase a $70 game from them every few releases. I know there's a core group that's happy to pay for a game every year (I was one of them ages 13-19), but they can reach way more people if they break from that business model. I know they didn't pioneer this because Fortnite has had great success as a F2P game for years, but the fact that they've managed to transform COD, a franchise that's part of the mid-2000's old guard of gaming, into this new model is pretty impressive from a business and marketing standpoint.
I don't have my Xbox anymore but had my game pass active still I hopped on through cloud gaming on my phone no install and plays pretty smooth saved lots of $$

The multiplayer itself is amazing, feels really good. But sbmm is truly taking away all the fun, it’s just way too much. Every single match feels like a tournament

That warzone map is giving me blackout vibes.
They've gone from immersion to blockbuster and while it's a 7.8/10 it's a self aware call of duty that knows what it's good at and doesn't try to be something it's not.
As someone who hasn’t played cod since Cold War. I like the game. Movement is smooth, zombies is good, I haven’t played the campaign yet. I think everyone just so quick to hate cuase the last games been so ass. But so far I’m liking it
