I'm an Online Student and I love it. I can work while going to school. Stay home where my family is. Not have to pay for dining, room, and board. ETC... LOVE IT.

Thank you! I'll be a Freshman next year and I am stoked to know about these things. I had no idea about the food being mostly fast food. I'll be majoring in dance and fast food isn't always the best when dancing. So thank you for helping me be able to prepare for food and think about how I will be eating. You're awesome!

Hey! I loved your videos! I’ve been planning on going and just binged watched all kinds of GCU videos!! I’m also thinking of starting UA-cam, besides doing a what to bring and what not to bring video can you do UA-cam + College video?
I originally wanted to come to GCU, I went to Discover GCU and fell in love with the campus. I am from Kentucky but I ended up going to a school in Tennessee. The community bathrooms do suck lol, we had 30-40 girls per floor sharing 3-6 stalls and 4-5 showers. We had 3 washers for the whole dorm which was over 100 girls.. The dorms were built in the 19 hundreds so they were very old, we did have a cafeteria but it was worse than high school food it was pretty bad. The student population of the school was around 1,800 and in my English class we had about 10 students lol. When you said less than 100 students I was like wow! That place is huge! Lol
You should make another video listing reasons what made you choose gcu .... Perhaps another one talking about misconceptions and lastly another video listing things you were told to be true/amazing but ended up being not true.....

I am also an online student full time I’m here in Texas born and raised I absolutely love your video I made me feel like I’m actually involved. The pros for me being an online student is being able to be a wife mom & work. But GCU is my home for the next four years so I wanted to do some homework on feeling a bit more involved as if I was actually there.. & I love love chick-fil- a too your amazing thank you for the video! I feel I love with GCU online learning because it gives me the opportunity to for success for my future career. Blessings, ❤
When I attended GCU they did have a cafeteria and far less fast food options. The problem was everyone was going to the fast food restaurants and hardly anyone went to the cafeteria. So they decided to get rid of it to make room for more restaurants. But I really liked the cafeteria because they had lots of options. Waffles and eggs for breakfast.

The activities that happen on campus are not free. There’s an activity fee included in our tuition and even if you don’t attend these events, you’re still paying for it. Do your research if you’re planning on coming to gcu, especially if you’re tight on money because this school is definitely not cheap. Nice video👌🏽

I want to go to GCU so bad bc I fell in love with the campus over 2 years ago when I graduated. But I haven’t even attended community college or anything. And I have no money and I’m very very horrified of student debt.
I’m an Online graduate with my BSPsy and I love GCU#LopesUp!! I never had any problems with them. Thanks for sharing your opinion about the campus. It’s helpful with everyone who is looking into college campuses. Best of luck in your endeavors 🙂!

I graduated from GCU in spring 2018. I guess it's appropriate I recap my experience.
This I can say for sure the campus looked completely different when I first arrived in fall 2014. Heck the grove dorms were still under construction in my second semester. Oh and the area where the engineering building is now as a bunch of trailers in 2014. Overall I'd say my freshmen year was my favorite of all, it was due in large part to the fact that my roommates went from being complete strangers to being best friends pretty much overnight, and not just my roommates but everyone on our floor, the RA's included got pretty close together. The major I chose was Graphic Design with Emphasis on Animation, which was in the Colter building, I think it has since switched place with the college of business. I just really wanted to take my passion for art and music to the next level. Additionally I got pretty close with the people in my major classes and even now the people I met at GCU I still keep in touch with. I had my down lows in my Jr, and Sr. years but I did pull through and graduate with a 3.34 GPA.
GCU's student union interestingly "used" to be a full cafeteria", the habit, slice and the other two places didn't go in until I was in my sophomore year (2015-2016).
I may go ahead and make a video like this discussing my experience.
Honestly the only downside of the dining options imo is the hours. There actually not a bad variety and pretty good places to eat

I think slices is now Grand Canyon Pizza Co, and I think Auntie Anne's is gone. The restaurants (Purple Greens & Arena Cafe) in Arena are the chepest. In summer, only CFA (Lope Way) & QDOBA are open in summer.

It’s a Christian college so it isn’t unusual that you can’t have the opposite sex in the room, alcohol, or vapes.
Great school!!! I did my BA in Christian Ministry online and now I am doing Master of Divinity also online. Professors are so AMAZING!!!

If you are living in an apartment not residence halls, is there a big grocery store in walking distance to get groceries to cook in the kitchens? I’m an international graduate student looking to go to GCU - I will not have a car but will be looking to live in apartments. I know on campus grocery stores are really expensive and limited so looking for other places like target, Walmart, etc

No. There is only a sink in the dorms and you’re only allowed to have a microwave and a coffee maker.

Wait a minute I’ve been subbed to you for a minute… and I had no clue you went there! I was there 2015.. def didn’t like it i transferred out and now have my masters lol! It’s cool campus life is cool great food but they prey on high school students..
I feel like the cons are just your preferences and not wanting to follow the rules. The school is responsible for your education, other than you can do groceries and buy the food you want. Having the opposite sex in the room can put other girls in danger! so renting your own apartment will be a perfect way to live a free life with no rules.

Living in the dorms you mostly eat out especially since you do not have a kitchen and only a microwave!

Lol I’m not sure about regular hair salons but I know there’s a African braiding salon a couple miles down the road!

you can order things online but you have to pick it up at the mail center. There is no alcohol allowed on campus, no matter your age.

No but if they suspect you have one they can look. Also the fire alarms are very sensitive so if you vape/juul it’ll go off. Your hall mates could snitch or somethings when the RAs are walking by they can stop and listen at the door. But in reality ppl get away with all of this so it’s honestly just luck 🤷🏽♀️

it really depends on you. If you have the money to live off-campus then I would. However, living on campus is not really that bad. So you just have to way your options!
