I say that it's about time! I hope this is a great success. There are plenty of small midi keyboards but pianists have needed a reliable midi piano with weighted keys that is incredibly portable, durable, and professional for such a long time. This has the perfect minimal aesthetic and functionality. Pianists have been for want in the 'pack-up and go to gig/etc' crowd for genuine centuries. I'm interested in seeing weighted keys come to it.
Edit: It has a great on-board sound bank and a ton of different base sounds, they sound quite good to my ears, compared to what you usually find on-board the majority of midi keyboards and that minimalistic button layout is actually a huge plus to me. I think it has a lot of potential.
Omg your pianoplay got me really deep inside... Wow.
That is a brilliant idea... I will personally wait for the weighted version, my piano years made me very picky with keyboards... But such an excellent idea, space saving too.
I'm with you this would be a great desk then take with you midi controller.
Love your reviews - and though I really can't play piano I had to stay watching. Your voice and the joy you have with the instruments you play make me feel simply better 🥰
Same
Wow, this is really a great invention 🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹
Great channel, and many folks benefit from your knowledge. This new keyboard is ridiculously priced, c’mon I know you get the units for free, but tell it like it is. It is literally 10x what it should sell for
I love mine. Acceptable for practice away from home.
Omg thats freaking genius, but they should have like an end thingy to keep each individual module protected.
You can connect the end module to the first module
Many thanks for this inspiring video :-)
Loving it!
Joli piano. Bonne vidéo de démonstration. Merci bien
Looking at the open side view, the key mechanism seems legit. I could get this instead of a Numa Compact 2x, which has more keys than i want in that type of keyboard (i already have a digital piano with 88 keys, for when I want that). Will keep this in mind, since portability is non-negotiable for me - it's a requirement.
I don't need the drawbars of the Compact - my piano has those too. Knobs and sliders are appreciated in general tho.
Had to stop after 3min and just give you a like man, such a nice guy and awesome review. 🎉🎉🎉
Please review the weighted version when it gets released. Also do you think it's difficult to play synth on a weighted keybed cause i want one for both uses and if they sell separate modules so we can add more in the future?
Since you play synths how would this version compare to a fatar keybed feeling? Hope you will be able to answer these questions. Thx
Subbed
Here for this! Had my eyes on this for a long time. Hope you have an affiliate link 🔥
Nice, I've been checking such modular option for a long time. Thanks for reviewing some on board sounds as well. On other reviews, they were using with computers only which make the compact-wise of the whole concept a bit awkward. I'm trying to avoid using my computer to do music so… I have a few questions, though:
- What happens if you want to plug an iPhone with some Ravenscroft Piano in it? Does the output goes through the 2.5 mm headphone in front?
- I believe there's no true line out, right? When you plug the headphone to an amplifier or some good amplified speakers, does the signal strong enough? With the iPhone/iPad Ravenscraft (or else) sound engine?
Many thanks.
I have the older version of the A and was wondering if the latest A version has an upgraded soundbank. I really don't like the piano sounds on the older one. Yours sounds pretty good on the other hand. I'm wondering whether to ask Olivier if I can pay to trade in my older version for the newer one in that case. Overall I'm happy with the A I have as I can connect it to Pianoteq which is great
What midi controller are you using?
I’ve got an issue with mine whereby several keys are playing distorted notes! The ‘makers’ state I need to connect it through a midi and use 3rd party software. I’m not sure this will cure it but happy to try before I claim under the warranty.!!!!
The price is absolutely insane for this lmao
Wait, how wide can it actually go? Can you keep adding sections and have a pocket Bosendorfer 97 key piano? :)
Hah that would be awesome!
Would be interesting to know if they sell separate modules as well to add more in the future
Oh my gosh I LOVE your shirt! Do you know where I can get one??
Dammit. Weighted keys please! I wish I could have really good 5 octave weighted keys (before anyone says I knows it has been done but sooo rare) that fit under my desk
I really must insist on din midi, and battery power, for my portable keyboards.
This looks great though.
Thanks for sharing 😊
I’m putting my money in a weighed keys one if they ever do make one. I carry a full weighted keyboard for gigs but also have Yamaha Piagero which literally weighs nothing but it is not weighted and use as a backup or practice keyboard. Make a weighted portable one and then let’s talk 😊
Great idea but $2,200 Australian dollars for a midi keyboard.
As a keyboard player if they could fit all sections in the footprint of one I might consider it but off the price is correct I'd rather buy a synth
Wii Shop theme - 😅 Thanks for that!

A masterkeyboard without MIDI? Just USB?
The big question is, how is the latency when inputting notes into a DAW?
I could see how this may be useful for air travel, but other wise its pretty redundant in my humble opinion.
Cool concept. Unfortunately it is SUPER expensive. 980 euros for the 73 key version and I highly doubt it's in that caliber of quality in terms of key feel. I mean you can get a NI Komplete control S88 mk2 for 100 euros less!!
€790 for 49 keys, that's not serious is it? 😅
It’s handmade in europe and it’s a small company so the prices are high, it’s basically artisanal
Much more affordable than Bosendorfer which is also from Europe
£1075 bucks!!!!!! I would rather buy a cheaper second model and use the saving for my house heating bill.
This is so elitist …. You cater to this crap geez for that price buy a piano
cheap gimmick on overpriced keyboard
Incredibly overpriced keyboard
I’ve seen something similar a while back
This version can be used on a stand. Others would break
