Suggestion: after cutting shape and leather hard, with sponge wipe and clean all edges to soften them. Doing it with a file or sandpaper after bisque fire is not good for your health. Clay has silica which is cancerous and terrible for lungs. Also, paint transparent glaze on all four edges so that the piece is properly finished and elegant. You are a good tutor. Keep it up!!!
Thank you. The earrings are only glazed on the front. They are placed backs down on a shelf with the glaze side facing up to ensure they don't stick to the shelf. I hope you also have a wonderful autumn.
Hey, Lisa! I just came across your channel and am almost addicted. You have such good skills and your presentation is so nice. Congrats and keep up the great job! I also want to ask you about the clay/glaze, i am about to purchase them and take them to a local firing kiln, but have no clue at what cone to ask them to fire. Or how much time. Is there a recommendation on the product or how can i find out details about firing them? Thank you so so much!
Hi Dorina, thanks for your lovely feedback. That's a tricky question to answer as it depends on what clay you have decided to go with. If you're taking them somewhere to be fired I would suggest talking to the kiln technician who should be able to work with you on the correct settings for your items. Good luck 🍀
thanks for all the tips! can you tell me a liitle about drying please. i made some porcelain brooches recently and some of them warped. a think the problem was in the dryingg ..... i think! any help would be brill x
That's a great question but one that needs a longer answer than I can provide on UA-cam. I've answered it on my new community portal: community.cabinceramics.co.uk/question/5dde366e9052245a5b3b7c3c#answer-5dde38566488c8670032a374 You're welcome to join this new community where I hope people will share hints, tips and advice with like minded creatives such as yourself x
You should put affiliate amazon links in your description. I'll be looking into the things you mentioned from amazon. Would be nicer if you made a little money out of it

Are you firing them after you glaze them? I think I skipped that part

Will it be just as good to make my own slip instead?
Hi Kristen. Yes I'm sure making your own slip will look lovely. Kind regards. Lisa
